SYNOPSIS
Riku (Kento Nakajima) and Minami (milet) married after falling in love at first sight during their university years. Riku had aspirations of becoming a novelist, and thanks to Minami’s support, he quickly became a popular bestselling author. On the other hand, Minami, who loved singing, was unable to fulfill her dream of becoming a singer, and felt lonely living apart from Riku, who was busy with work every day. One day, Riku’s unkind comment leads to a big fight between them. When Riku wakes up the next morning, Minami is gone, and he goes to a meeting at a publishing company, but he is perplexed by the fact that he can’t get along with the people he meets at all. Riku finds that he is now a member of the editorial staff of a literary magazine, and the town is filled with the songs and images of Minami Maezono, a prodigious singer-songwriter whom he has never even met. Riku is bewildered, but struggles to get his whole life back…

COMMENT BY KENTO NAKAJIMA
“I feel like I’ve found the best kind of love story, one that everyone can relate to. It’s a dream come true to be able to take part in a narrative antagonized by a trick of the gods instead of human or natural machinations, to say nothing of it being under the direction of Takahiro Miki, whom I’ve longed to work with for quite some time. I have loved the director’s previous works, and I feel truly honoured to finally be a part of “Team Miki.” This movie comes at a big turning point for me personally, as I read this script at the end of my twenties and will play the main character for the first film of my thirties. I laughed and cried many times while reading the script, in sympathy with the struggles of the two characters, and I’m also looking forward to hearing milet’s singing voice, who I’m performing with for the first time. I want to do my best to deliver this beautiful and engaging romance story that I’m confident will make audiences realise the ‘love in everyday life‘ that we all too often take for granted.”

COMMENT BY milet
“I am milet, and I play the role of Minami Maezono.
When Director Miki offered me this role, I was truly surprised because I had never imagined myself on the acting side, despite singing for films before. The character I will portray, Minami Maezono, is a woman who pursues her dream of becoming a singer in one world and actively works as a singer-songwriter in another. I feel a sense of affinity with both aspects of her character, and I found myself drawn into the story as I resonated with her struggles between dreams and reality.
While I do feel some anxiety about acting in my first film, I am eager to take on the challenge with guidance from the director and support from the lead actor Kento Nakajima, the cast, and the staff. I want to confront Minami in a way that only I can and live within this story.”

COMMENT BY Takahiro Miki

“I first became aware of Kento Nakajima as an actor about 10 years ago.
A stylist friend of mine recommended him to me as a very nice boy, and I have wanted to work with him ever since. I was always fascinated by his intelligence and beauty of appearance as well as his overflowing aura.
And the other actor is milet, an artist who is making her first full-fledged acting challenge.
When I first received the project proposal, I wondered who would play the heroine. When I worked with her on a music video, I was fascinated by her natural brightness and cuteness behind the mysterious atmosphere of her public image, and I wondered what would happen if she acted in a drama.
I think it was an unexpected offer, but she jumped at the chance to take on a new challenge with great enthusiasm.
The story is a slightly comical and heartwarming fantasy love story. What kind of ensemble will the two of them bring to this story? I can’t help but look forward to working with them.”

COMMENT BY Producer Tsuyoshi Matsushita
This story was found by Director Miki and the producer team who worked together to produce “Your Eyes Tell,” while searching for a new topic for a romantic tale. We were fascinated by the story, which unfolds sometimes comically and sometimes as if it were a life lesson, depicting how two people, who fatefully met and spent time together, try to reclaim their love and past lives when they realize they haven’t met at all after 10 years due to a changed world.
While Kento Nakajima is known for his polished public image as an idol, characterized by his beautiful appearance and gentle demeanor, personally, I find his portrayal of frustration in various movies and dramas to be the most captivating aspect of his acting. The protagonist of this film is a man who struggles with having achieved success at the cost of his life and losing his destined partner simultaneously. Initially fueled by anger, it’s intriguing to anticipate how his expression of anger will ultimately evolve into different emotions.
We’ve previously requested milet to provide the theme song for the film “Kakegurui Part 2: Desperate Russian Roulette,” and she delivered a tricky yet powerful track consistent with her enigmatic and multinational vibe seen in the media. What left the biggest impression, however, was her appearance at the post-screening event, exuding a soft, cheerful, and positive demeanor. With this dual image, milet is the only one capable of portraying the heroine of this story – an ordinary person and a charismatic singer-songwriter! I’m convinced of that already.
