Tradition
The thing about Fandom culture is that people who get into fandoms also build up their own culture. That is also the case for @teamsixtonesph who have continuously crafted and planned events for fans of SixTONES based in the Philippines.
It started with an online gathering to celebrate SixTONES’ first debut anniversary back in 2021. Since there were still a lot of restrictions when it came to gatherings, the PH-based fandom decided to conduct the gathering through online platforms. The organizers prepared games, presentations, an online ticket, giveaways, among others for the fans to be better acquainted with each other.
From celebrating the debut anniversary, there came planning to celebrate members birthdays and the group’s naming anniversary!
As restrictions started to ease up, the fans started to move from purely online activities to some activities done in various venues that were accessible to most of the fans. Still, since not everyone was able to commit time for physical events, there were still some that were done using online platforms.
Years later, the tradition of having fan gatherings still continued. With group viewings added to the activities.
The most recent group viewing was done last 9 November 2024, titled Vibes x 6, the PH-based fans gathered at Music 21 – a karaoke place – to watch the recently released concert DVD of SixTONES 4th concert, VVS. Fans who were able to participate in the event watched the video inclusions of both the regular and limited edition Blu-ray DVDs.
Another recent group viewing was for Kyomoto Taiga’s movie, Ienai Himitsu. This was done via an online platform as the release of its DVD was close to the release of the concert DVD and some of the fans wanted to have it done through online platforms due to schedule concerns.
Kickstarting 2025, the first activity was to celebrate SixTONES’ debut anniversary! The event was titled Bingold Bonanza which was heavily influenced by some of the activities that SixTONES has done as a group before, such as playing bingo. It was held last 25 January 2025 at The Directors Cafe – where the organizers were able to book a part of the venue for exclusive use of the fans. Games, giveaways, and more were also prepared to make the event enjoyable for everyone!
With the first activity of the year done, there’s more to come for fans to be able to show and share their love for SixTONES together!
