In addition to those, we also get to immerse ourselves in the unforgettable tunes of “My Dreamy Hollywood”, which has been a staple song for the group with a lot of meaning behind it. “PARTY UP LIKE CRAZY” is another of the bonus tracks we get, and we finally get to hear it in its full glory!
The album is available in three stunning physical CD editions, to be found wherever Japanese CDs are sold. Once you get your hand on your own copy, sit down and enjoy the extra material like bonus unit tracks, behind-the-scenes video extras, and a myriad of other surprises beckoning you to explore further.

We’ve picked out a few of the new songs to comment on, and while “Road to A” hits the mark of what’s “authentic Travis Japan,” it also speaks volumes of their past and future. Aside from their nostalgic picks of Junior-era songs on one of the editions, the new songs also embrace the more familiar Japanese idol sound.
Since debut, most lead tracks have been leaning toward a more Western sound and cater to the target audience overseas who aren’t familiar with the Japanese pop sound, the selection of new songs is a great mix between the two!
Seasons of Gold
One of the stronger tracks is “Seasons of Gold,” and it showcased a remarkable improvement in the vocal abilities of the group compared to their previous performances and songs, notably for the weaker vocalists like Shizu, Umi, and Shime. Their rendition of the power ballad is incredibly moving, eliciting goosebumps and conveying a cinematic feeling with its impactful delivery. Beautifully divine, indeed.
The opening by Genta set a great tone for the rest of the performance, and the addition of harmonies added beautiful layers to the overall presentation. It will be with great anticipation and a handful of tissues in hand we look forward to the see how they incorporate the song into the setlist for the coming tour!
99 PERCENT
Two months ago, Travis Japan teased us with a 99-second version of “99 PERCENT”, and little did we know then it would be on the album. It serves as the theme song for Genta’s drama “The Date of Marriage” where he plays the main character Yuki Masaomi.
The song is more commonly known among fans as “TONCHIKITON”, derived from the opening lines of the song, and after knowing the actual lyrics… some still prefer to refer to it as “TONCHIKI,” just for fun!
“99 PERCENT” is the love child between their more Western vibe and their other original song “BIG BANG BOY“. It is an intriguing blend that captures a more intense and heavier essence akin to “VOLCANO” and “GET ALIVE.” Vocally, the song is quite interesting, particularly with the added adlibs in the last chorus, which brings a refreshing and captivating dimension to the song.
Travis Japan‘s emotive expression adds a touch of passion and authenticity, deviating from the “perfect vibe” to deliver a brasher tone, allowing the viewer/listener to experience their artistry in a more raw and compelling manner. The dynamic fusion of Western influences and their original style creates a unique and engaging musical experience that showcases the band’s versatility and creative evolution.
King of the Jungle
Initially thought “King of the Jungle” would be more on the ridiculous side, given its name. However, it defied all expectations and turned out to be a highly effect-driven song, brimming with intense tension and attitude, and it would be more fair to call it “King of the Stage.”
This track truly shines a spotlight on the members who excel in rapping, delivering a performance that is not just intense but also filled with passion. The interplay between the rap elements and Noel’s sweet tones creates a captivating and dynamic fusion of styles, infusing the song with an irresistible energy that resonates deeply with the audience.
It’s the kind of track that commands attention, drawing the listeners into its compelling narrative and leaving a lasting impression that lingers long after the performance is over.
“King of the Jungle” embodies unbridled creativity and skillful artistry, making it a standout piece in the group’s impressive repertoire, and it will be exciting to see what they have in mind for the tour for this song!
Love Tag
Pump up the volume and ignite your energy with “Love Tag!” This electrifying track is designed to set your heart racing and leave you invigorated. The high-paced tempo verses will pull you in from the first note, while the chorus takes you on a nostalgia trip with its 2010-era K-pop composition vibes.
What makes it even more captivating is the clever structure of the chorus, starting off slow and gradually building up to a thrilling fast-paced ending, and as the beat drops, you’re ready to join in. As if that’s not enough, the adlibs and high notes are executed with precision, adding an extra layer of excitement to the song.

We hope that this album will reach as many people as possible. What kind of path will we take from here? Though yet unknown, we are looking forward to your excitement as we move forward and will do our best no matter what.

All in all, “Road to A” is truly a treasure created carefully and lovingly by the members of Travis Japan. It’s authentic and it encapsulates their growth from their Junior-era to now, and towards the unknown future. When they asked us “Can you keep up with me?” in “Moving Pieces,” nobody could have predicted that they would leave us at a loss for words by their first album.
“It don’t matter where you from. Or who you are” because Travis Japan makes sure that they reach you anywhere, no matter if you’re a fan or not.
The dream stage that they yearned for might have been about Hollywood, but one thing is for sure, even if things seemed uncertain when they moved to Los Angeles, they found it there. Their glorious future.
