4U.’s Yuta Fukuda stars in NIKKATSU×LEGENDSTAGE CINEMATIC STAGE’s “Tokyo Drifter” (東京流れ者) along with 7 MEN Samurai’s Katsuki Motodaka in Kyoto and Tokyo in March and April.
CINEMATIC STAGE is a project by Nikkatsu, a film company, and LEGENDSTAGE, a stage production company, to remake and stage classic Showa-era films. This second project, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Seijun Suzuki’s birth, will be a musical adaptation of the yakuza film “Tokyo Drifter” starring Tetsuya Watari. The film is a musical depiction of the life of a man who tries to escape from the underworld but cannot.
Yuta plays the role of Tetsuya Hondou, a former Kurata clan leader nicknamed “Tetsu the Phoenix,” who is targeted by the Otsuka clan because of their grudge against him.
Katsuki plays the role of Kenji Aizawa, aka “Ken, the Shooting Star,” who looks up to Tetsu as a big brother who saved his life.

I have been invited to be the main cast member of CINEMATIC STAGE’s “Tokyo Drifters,” the second tag-team project of Nikkatsu and LEGENDSTAGE. This project is a musical stage adaptation of a Nikkatsu movie from the good old Showa era. I love it. I’m so excited. It is a wonderful project.
The show will include singing, dancing, and action, so I will do my best to uplift the audience’s spirits. Thank you very much for your cooperation.
I am also looking forward to working with Katsuki Mototaka, a member of the popular group 7 MEN Samurai, who is one of my juniors. One of my dreams is to be told that “the senior I respect is Yuta Fukuda of 4U.,” so I plan to make one of my dreams come true at this stage. I am Katsuki Mototaka of 7 MEN Samurai. I play the role of Kenji Aizawa, who loves “Tetsuya” played by Fukuda-kun of 4U. as a big brother. This is almost the first time I have worked with Fukuda-kun.
