MBS announces their upcoming drama “My Strawberry Film” (マイストロベリーフィルム) starring Shonen Ninja’s Ryusei Fukada and 7 MEN Samurai’s Rei Yabana, along with Ririka Tanabe and Mizuki Yoshida.
“My Strawberry Film” is a youth drama that follows the story of four high school students with completely different personalities and views on love being drawn towards a mysterious film. It is a group drama centered on friendship, love, and admiration, where complex thoughts are mixed in the heart.
Ryusei Fukada as Ryo Ichikawa
He is a delicate young man who attracts attention due to his handsome appearance, but he is not good at standing out. His hobby is making music.
Rei Yabana as Hikaru Toyama
A mood maker with great communication skills but easily can get carried away. His problem is that he doesn’t have anything he’s passionate about.
Ryusei Fukada about the drama and role
I’m Ryusei Fukada and I played the role of Ichikawa Ryo. When I first heard about this, I felt both happy and under a lot of pressure. So, I emailed Ukisho-kun (Bishounen‘s Hidaka Ukisho), who has experience in lead acting roles, for advice. He gave me a lot of advice like “Don’t get too tense, be energetic, and communicate with the staff,” and thanks to that advice, I could have fun while filming. This coming-of-age drama follows four high school students who struggle with emotions like love and friendship. I think it is a work that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, as some aspects are nostalgic and can be relatable when watching. Please watch it!!
Rei Yabana about the drama and role
I am Rei Yabana, who plays the role of Hikaru Toyama, a beloved character full of energy and insensitive at times. The story begins when Hikaru-kun, who I play, discovers a film. It depicts a bitter-sweet youth that only high school students can experience. Even if you haven’t experienced it, you will feel like you have experienced this “youth” somewhere. It is a work full of emotions that stir up the memories you may have had. Please take a trip back to the frustrating youth of high school through this work!
“My Strawberry Film” will have 8 episodes and will start airing on February 15, 2024, on MBS every Thursday at 01:29 AM JST. You can also watch the missed delivery online through TVer and MBS Dougaizumu (MBS動画イズム). It will also be aired on TV Kanagawa, Gunma TV, Tochi Tele, Teledama, and Cibatele.
