“The romantic story involving six boys and girls is about to unfold as they don’t know love yet.“

It has been announced that Naniwa Danshi’s Ryusei Onishi and HiHi Jet’s Soya Igari are set to star in the movie “We Don’t Know Love Yet” / “Koi wo Shiranai Bokutachi wa,” scheduled to be released August 23rd this year!
The original work by popular manga artist Minami Mizuno, known for works such as “Rainbow Days”/”Nijiiro Days,” will be brought to life as a live-adaption movie! Under the care of the director Mai Sakai, known for works such as “My Beautiful Man: 15 Eternal” (2023), “Yoru ga Aketara, Ichiban ni Kimi ni Ai ni Iku” (2023), and the TV drama “Tomorrow, I’ll Be Someone’s Girlfriend” (2022), “We Don’t Know Love Yet” is sure to be a rollercoaster of emotions and captivating storytelling that will resonate with the viewer.
Ryusei Onishi (Naniwa Danshi) is currently active as an actor, having consecutively starred in the TV Asahi series “Rent-A-Girlfriend” for two years and last year’s Nippon TV series “Beni Sasu Life.”
For this movie, he was been entrusted with the lead role of Eiji Aihara as the production team recognized his good sense of balance and awareness of his surroundings, feeling a closeness with Eiji. He expressed his excitement, saying, “I love movies that allow me to immerse myself in a world where I can forget about daily life, so I’m thrilled to be at the center of it as the lead actor!”
The cast includes Airu Kubozuka (20) as Naohiko Bessho, former = LOVE’s Nagisa Saito (20) as Koharu Fujimura, Riko (21) as Izumi Shiosaki, Soya Igari (20) from HiHi Jets, and fellow agency mate, as Taichi Senami, and Sara Shida (24) as Mizuho Ikezawa, all of whom are up-and-coming young actors.
Ryusei is eager to create an atmosphere reminiscent of being back in school with his peers, stating, “Since we’re all in the same age group, I’m excited to gather with fellow actors of the same generation. I hope we can deliver a fresh story that hasn’t been seen before.“
The story follows Eiji, Naohiko, and Izumi, who have been friends since middle school. Naohiko started going out with Izumi later on. Meanwhile, Eiji seemed to easily find his crushes one after the other, more often his seniors than not, yet maintained a laid-back attitude when it came to being really serious about romance.
Now in their high school, it has been a while since Izumi left the city and is in a long-distance relationship with Naohiko. Eiji, still single, wonders if he has been missing something in his life. Maybe it’s just his poor grades, but for the time being, he wants to avoid Ikezawa, his strict, serious, and diligent classmate, as much as possible. Furthermore, he is aware of Taichi, a boy from a different class who has a crush on Ikezawa.
Meanwhile, Koharu Fujimura is a girl experiencing her first relationship, yet she is unsure whether this is truly love. After an encounter with Naohiko, her eyes begin to open.
Inexperienced and innocent, the lives of these six students begin to intertwine as they come to terms with themselves and grow to discover the true meaning of “love.” — mangaupdates.com
Comment by Ryusei Onishi

“I love movies that immerse me in a world where I can forget about everyday life, so I’m thrilled to be at the center of it as the lead this time! The director and staff have been so supportive, and I’m confident we’ll make a great film.
I hope everyone will enjoy empathizing with various characters while feeling the excitement of unexpected romantic developments. We aim to deliver a love story unlike any other seen before.
Just like the heart-fluttering moments I felt when reading the original work, I want viewers to experience those same feelings in the movie. I’ll do my best to bring those heart-fluttering scenes to life!
Since the cast members are all around the same age, I hope we can create an atmosphere reminiscent of our school days. As it’s set to be released in summer, I hope it’ll be a film that encourages those struggling with love!”
Comment by Soya Igari
“I’m Soya Igari, playing the role of Taichi Senami. Embarrassingly, I haven’t had much exposure to the culture of romantic manga until now. However, this work prompted me to read the original manga, and I discovered the wonderfulness of romantic manga.
It is not something that is instantaneous, but a delicately crafted work that makes the reader feel a thrill of excitement. I feel so delighted to be able to portray a character living within that story.
On the other hand, the pressure of contributing to this wonderful work is significant, and I intend to learn a lot from the heart-fluttering moments of the lead actor, Ryusei Onishi. I’ll do my best to convey the joy of an awkward yet irresistible love through the work.”
