Naniwa Danshi released the title track of their 3rd album โ+Alphaโ titled โAlphaโ! Alpha is filled with the fresh, youthful and Naniwa Danshi’s classic sparkle along with their infectious happy energy from the start to the very end. After challenging various different genres Naniwa Danshi is once again back with what they are the best at, love songs!
Unlike any of Naniwa Danshiโs previous music videos, Alpha is rather unique. It has a muted yet elegant color scheme that you will be enchanted by. Although the colors of the music video are muted and rather dark, itโs precisely because of this that Naniwa Danshiโs colors shine through the darkness. In the backdrop of the classic Hollywood office set, their charisma shines brighter than ever. The addition of back dancers raises the quality of the music video even more. Pairing with the camera work and delicate lighting, the music video is an absolute treat for the eyes, a delight to watch!
Not to forget about their costumes! We haven’t seen color coordinated matching outfits in the music video of a title track since Special Kiss! The transition from dark, muted, and elegant matching outfits in the beginning to a uniquely designed princely outfits with an even unique combination of icy, minty blue blazers paired with gray pants in the end made them look no less than any prince! They carried both the costumes so well!
Also fun fact! This is not the first time that Naniwa Danshi had multiple matching outfits in one music video! Previously they had more than one matching outfit in a single music video in Happy Surprise and Special Kiss!
The song by itself brings back their lover boy brand that they have been carrying on their back since before debut with songs like UBU LOVE, Diamond Smile, Aoharu ~With U With Me~, to name a few. The line distribution is beautiful with equal distribution of solo lines, pair lines, and group chorus. We got to hear a lot of new pairings that we don’t hear often like Michieda Shunsuke and Onishi Ryusei pair in the first verse!
The chorus at the beginning is magnificently beautiful. It instantly hooks you to the song. Opening as an elegant song and gradually getting up beat, the song is a very accurate representation of the group that Naniwa Danshi is. This is truly a song that you’ll get attracted to from the very first listen!
