Today at Dumplig Box, we are celebrating with Tiaras’ fandom! On May 23rd, 7 years ago, Kaito Takahashi and Ren Nagase, who were only 19 years old at the time, made their long-awaited debut.
Being the two youngest guys of a group that initially had 6 members, they have also been the only ones who, during all this time, have continued to fight for a place in the music scene in the face of all the adversities they have encountered.
Therefore, from our platform we are going to open a new section called: “Weekly Kinpuri“, where we will be talking about the most recent releases of our favourite duet, as well as the most popular titles of their extensive discography, starting with their debut single, as well as their “second debut” as a duo!
Their story officially begins (albeit after many years of work behind them as a Junior) with their successful debut hit “Cinderella girl” (ใทใณใใฌใฉใฌใผใซ), a song that clearly represents the spirit of a traditional idol group with its pop rhythm and romantic lyrics, as well as its princely costumes full of glitter and sparkles. The song’s appeal also lies in its ability to captivate a wide range of listeners, making it possible that even today, Takahashi and Nagase have a wide and diverse fandom ranging from teenagers to young adults who have made sure that their kids also listen to the duo or who draw their own personality and fashion inspiration from the two artists, as well as, of course, more adult listeners.
The release of their first musical work was announced at the “King & Prince Event” held at the Roppongi Hills Arena on 15 March 2018. It was released in five different editions, of which 4 were limited editions: limited A, limited B, and two other versions that could only be purchased through UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE, called: “K Edition” and “P Edition”, plus, of course, a regular version.
We can also find the song “Cinderella girl” (ใทใณใใฌใฉใฌใผใซ) on the album “Mr.5” released on 19 April 2023, being her first “best album”. It is in the limited edition A where we can find “Cinderella girl 2023” (ใทใณใใฌใฉใฌใผใซ 2023) MV, recorded with the intention of becoming a renewed version of his most recognized song.

On May 22, 2023, one day before their 5th anniversary debut, the group became a duo, but to the surprise of all their fans and even other agency colleagues who had bet that the boys would take a well-deserved break to redirect their careers and find their new starting point as a duet, it seems that they already had it clear, because the next day, on May 23, 2023 at 7:00 p.m., on YouTube, Twitter (currently X), TikTok, Instagram and other platforms it was announced during the live broadcast “5th Birthday Party Live Stream with Tiara and KP” the release of Kaito Takahashi and Ren Nagase‘s first single as a duet, which would also be used as the theme song for the NTV drama “Daga, Jounetsu wa Aru!” (ใ ใใๆ ็ฑใฏใใ) starring Takahashi Kaito and Morimoto Shintaro (SixTONES) that was the 116th “The Television Drama Academy Award” winners (Spring 2023) as the 26th “Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix” (Spring 2023) too. Thus demonstrating their commitment to the fans, and preventing such a symbolic date for them, as their debut anniversary, from becoming a bittersweet memory!
In contrast to “Cinderella girl” (ใทใณใใฌใฉใฌใผใซ), a romantic, more produced and fanciful song, where the boys sold a characteristic image of a traditional and princely idol, thus leaving their mark on all its members, “Nanimono” (ใชใซใใฎ) is a song with catchy rhythms that shows the simplicity and beauty that can be found in everyday life, and the importance of stopping to enjoy the small moments. King & Prince sing in this work to the small joys of everyday life, placing themselves in a much more natural position, expressing their true selves and not as those “unattainable princes” they used to be. “Nanimono” (ใชใซใใฎ) has a slight jazz touch and in Takahashi‘s words was described as “a very warm, joyful and sweet song” and we couldn’t agree more!
In this MV we can see on a split screen how Takahashi and Nagase spend their free time in separate rooms, which represent their private lives until it’s time for them to meet again to give their fans the best possible on stage show, where the two of them dance together with a music band in the background. In addition, there are several easter eggs hidden throughout the video highlighting the numbers 6-2-1, which is the release date of the single (21 June), as well as the clapperboard and calendar that appear at the beginning of the MV, can you find it?
The choreography was created by Oguri from s**t kingz and consists of a catchy dance. On 18 December 2024, this work, along with the fifth studio album, which was also their first album as a duo, “PEACE” (ใใผใน) and the fourteenth single “ITOSHI IKIRU KOTO / MAGIC WORD” (ๆใ็ใใใใจ / MAGIC WORD), was distributed on subscription services and music download services!
Other songs that can be found on their first single as a duo and that would mark his new path full of successes are: “Magic of love“, “Kiss & Kill“, “ASHITA no KATACHI, “(ใขใทใฟใใซใฟใ), “Namonaki extra” (ๅใใชใใจใญในใใฉ), and “Hanashi wo Shiyou yo” (่ฉฑใใใใใ) with composition and lyrics by Kaito Takahashi and arrangements by Masayoshi Kawabata.
