MindaRyn feat. ASH – Missing Link (“ULTRAMAN OMEGA” ED)

When Ultraman Omega premiered on July 5, 2025, fans expected the usual spectacle of cosmic battles and heroic resolve. What they didn’t expect was for the ending theme—often a quiet send-off in tokusatsu1 tradition—to hit harder than the opening, setting the internet alight with praise.

“Missing Link”, performed by Thai-born anisong2 artist MindaRyn with powerhouse rock vocalist ASH, has quickly become one of the most talked-about Ultraman themes in years, even outpacing the series’ opening in views.

The track wastes no time. Driven by drop-tuned guitars, a pulsing rhythm, and ASH’s sharp-edged rap, the song explodes into MindaRyn’s soaring, crystalline vocals, capturing the emotional duality at the heart of Ultraman Omega: courage in the face of loss, and hope in the midst of chaos. The chorus’s climactic shift feels like the final sprint of a hero’s journey, embodying the series’ theme of resilience.

Beyond its sonic punch, “Missing Link” has captivated listeners for how it intertwines with the series’ opening theme, “BRIGHT EYES”, also performed by ASH. The music videos for the two songs connect seamlessly, creating a dual narrative that mirrors Ultraman Omega’s emotional core. The concept—rare in tokusatsu—has fans rewatching both videos in sequence, calling it cinematic and a striking example of music-driven storytelling.

This synergy reflects the creative vision behind the music. Both themes were composed by NARASAKI, best known for his genre-defying work with COALTAR OF THE DEEPERS, who also scored the series’ dramatic background music. ASH, a powerhouse rock singer who captivates fans with a unique voice and charisma, serves as the vocalist of “Reiwa’s strongest mix-rock bandASH DA HERO.

He leads the rock scene with an innovative style blending rock, punk, and hiphop, is deeply versed in anime and manga culture, and even gained major attention collaborating with the TV anime Blue Lock. In 2025, he embarked on his first world tour, further cementing his global presence, while penning lyrics and delivering rap sections for this track alongside MindaRyn, who brings her multilingual voice and unmistakable energy that resonates perfectly with his style.

For MindaRyn, “Missing Link” marks not just a return to Tsuburaya Productions, but a deepening of her bond with the franchise. Immersed in Japanese culture from an early age through iconic anime, she relocated to Japan to pursue her dream of singing anisong.

A trilingual artist fluent in Thai, Japanese, and English, she made her debut in November 2020 with “BLUE ROSE knows,” the ending theme of the anime By the Grace of the Gods (via Lantis). Since then, she has gone on to perform themes for numerous anime and tokusatsu series, including Ultraman Blazar, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest. Since her debut, she has grown from YouTube cover singer to one of anisong’s rising stars, a journey her fans—spanning Japan, Thailand, and beyond—have followed closely.

“I’m deeply moved to once again be part of the Ultraman series. I sang with all my heart to match the strength and world of Ultraman Omega. I hope the image of Omega, standing tall against any challenge while never losing hope, reaches the hearts of people around the world.”

Fans are already echoing her sentiment, and I felt much the same watching the official music video. Her voice feels powerful and crystal-clear, with ASH’s rap adding that perfect surge of adrenaline that makes it feel like it could easily be an opening theme rather than an ending, and it’s exciting to see her back on Ultraman, continuing to level up with each release.

With its high replay value, cinematic visuals, and the chemistry between MindaRyn and ASH, “Missing Link” is more than a traditional tokusatsu ED. It’s a track that stands shoulder to shoulder with the franchise’s most iconic themes, from “Bokura no Spectra” to “BLACKSTAR.” Even at the end of each episode, viewers are left energized rather than winding down. It almost feels as if Ultraman himself is telling them, “The fight isn’t over,” carrying the momentum straight through the credits.

For fans new and old, MindaRyn’s latest is a reminder that Ultraman music doesn’t just support the story—it is part of the story. And with the connected narrative between the opening and ending themes, Ultraman Omega is setting a new bar for how music and visuals can shape the tokusatsu experience.
