The world of Kyoukai no Melody has come back to haunt readers, both new and old, with its upcoming sequel, written by Kis-My-Ft2โs Toshiya Miyata.
Picking up from where the first novel ended, Kanitamaโs rival band Some Liars set off on a journey across the world to London, on a mission to challenge themselves and learn more about their music. Theyโre determined to reach the top, but a young man with a shamisen halts them in their tracks.
โMakoto and Minoru are just trying to match Takeshi. You guys arenโt a band at all.โ
For Some Liars, it wasnโt just the words that made them pause, but the personโs indifferent speech, appearance, and name were just like their dead friend, Kai from Kanitama.
Novel aside, there will also be a drama CD released together with the sequel, which includes a booklet and a CD with a dream collaboration. Ito Kent and Daisuke Sakuma will be reprising their roles of Kyousuke Tsurumaki and Kai Amano, respectively.
Additionally, the first volume of the comics will be released on the same day, November 25, 2025, with art by Iqura Sugimoto, best known for her work on Summer Wars. More information on the sequel, such as its characters, drama CD cast for Some Liars, and more, is yet to be announced.
In celebration of the release, there will also be a handover event with Toshiya Miyata in Sendai, Tokyo, and Fukuoka. More benefits include limited edition illustration cards with a handwritten message from Toshiya Miyata and specially made drawings by Iqura Sugimoto.

The publication of the sequel to Kyoukai no Melody has been decided. I am very happy as I pour my heart and soul into writing every word of this sequel.
Kyoukai no Melody is a work I am writing with the hope of it being a marvel and heartwarming work, and the passion and persistence for my dream for this to become an anime.
Thankfully, the release of the first volume of comics has also been decided. Since the images in my brain have been drawn into a manga, I hope you can enjoy the details that canโt be depicted in the novel.
Thanks to you all, I feel that I am getting closer to my dream one step at a time. I would be very happy if lots of people read and enjoy the sequel and the manga.
