On June 30, exciting news was revealed: GEMN, the talented artists who brought us the captivating opening theme song “Fatal” for the beloved TV anime “Oshi no Ko” Season 2, is none other than the incredibly talented Kento Nakajima and Tatsuya Kitani.

GEMN’s official website has been releasing new information daily, including liner notes presumably written by the participating members for two consecutive weeks and the advance release of the TV-size lyrics, which has generated considerable buzz.
This time, GEMN’s artist photo was released. Additionally, a message video from GEMN was shown at a stage greeting held in Tokyo on the same day. Kento expressed the song’s appeal, saying, “I think it has a level of danger where you have to be careful not to get bitten,” and as GEMN, urged viewers to “look forward to the TV anime’s second season.”
“Oshi no Ko” is a story set in the entertainment industry, serialized in “Weekly Young Jump” (Shueisha) since April 2020. The protagonist, Goro, a gynecologist, meets his favorite idol, Ai Hoshino, but after a certain event leads to his death, he is reincarnated as Ai’s child. This event marks the beginning of his journey into the same entertainment world as her.
It has also been decided that a live-action adaptation will be released this winter, with the drama series being exclusively streamed worldwide on Amazon Prime Video and the movie distributed by Toei for theatrical release. The anime’s second season will air from July, focusing on the 2.5D stage play “Tokyo Blade” arc, depicting Aqua, Kana Arima, and Akane Kurokawa’s participation in the play.
Kento not only posted on his Instagram a dance cover of YOASOBI’s “Idol,” which sparked quite the buzz when it was posted, as his interest in the series was known among his fans. It’s clear that his passion for the series translates into his dance cover, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.
The attention to detail and the effort he put into the performance have resonated deeply with the community, sparking discussions and admiration for his multifaceted talents. This intersection of his personal interests and creative expression serves as an inspiring example for his followers, showcasing the power of blending personal passions with artistic pursuits.
Comment by Kento Nakajima
I think “Fatal” is “the story of a shadow that longed for the light.”
The day I encountered “idols” and “Oshi no Ko.”
Since childhood, I have always admired and longed for someone,
continuing to think, “I want to be number one,” even now.
Ai taught me what perfection and the ultimate mean.

Right after making various decisions, suddenly, this opportunity arrived as “truth.”
After cherishing the words Ai gave me and continuing to run as an “idol,” I encountered this stage.
When Tatsuya Kitani and I shared our life histories with each other, we found many resonating points.
I am proud that we created this song together and of the birth of “GEMN.”
“Fatal” is a song for Aqua and the others, but it is also a song for us, GEMN. Just by believing in a single “Ai,” and just by being believed in, I feel like I can move forward more strongly.
This summer, I want to deliver a fateful Ai to you.
A perfect and ultimate Ai.
