King & Prince ‘s Ren Nagase has been chosen as a regular MC for the new music talk variety show “Music Capsule ~Life’s Favourite Songs~” (every Thursday from 2:05am / TV Tokyo), which starts on October 9th.
This will be Ren’s first time hosting a music talk variety show by himself. The sub-MC will be Hoshino Disco from the comedy duo “Parpar,” who also performs solo as a singer. (The sub-MC will change weekly.)
The show’s theme is “Life’s Favorite Songs” and each episode will feature guests from a wide range of genres. Through the guests’ musical experiences and memories, they will introduce the appeal of songs that are close to their lives. This “growth-oriented music variety show” will delve deeper into the unexpected sides of the guests and explore “what kind of music changes a life” together with MC Ren Nagase.
The guest for the first broadcast will be Tamamori Yuta (Kis-My-Ft2), a senior at the agency whom Ren admires both in public and private, and the two will have a conversation that only the close relationship between them can provide. The show will spread the appeal of music to a wide audience while also gently encouraging many people.

Q1. What were your thoughts when you were chosen as the show’s MC?
I’ve hosted a few shows, but this was my first time as a solo MC. I was a little nervous about what would happen if I had a guest, but it’s not something I get to do very often, so I was happy.
Q2. How do you feel now that the recording for the first episode is over?
It was so much fun! It’s been a while since I’ve spoken with so many different people. Seven people came (in one day for the recording of the first episode)! I’m sure it was tough for Disco too (laughs). But everyone was so unique and fun to talk to, so time flew by.
Q3. Please give a message to the viewers who are looking forward to the show.
This show features a variety of guests who introduce their favorite songs or songs that have changed their lives. We have fun, candid conversations, so I hope you’ll enjoy it at your own pace since it’s a late-night show! Stay tuned!

Q1. How did you feel after the recording?
Tamamori Yuta: It was fun because I don’t often get to have casual conversations or talk about private matters with Ren.
Ren: It’s been a while since we last met on a show like this, and we had a pretty leisurely chat.
Tamamori Yuta: I think we talked quite a bit. Maybe just under an hour.
Ren: Let’s continue with yakiniku!
Tamamori Yuta: … At least until yakiniku. At least until yakiniku!!
Ren: Can you stop emphasizing that (laughs).
Tamamori Yuta: Because as soon as we eat yakiniku, we’ll have to go home as students.
Ren: I’ve already graduated from university, so I’m not really a student anymore (laughs).
