Kento, known for his charismatic presence, not only sings but also contributes to the lyrics of the project’s debut song. This captivating track, titled “HITOGOTO feat. Kento Nakajima” (ヒトゴト feat. Kento Nakajima) made a surprise premiere as the ending theme of the first episode of TV Tokyo’s riveting new legal drama, “Shosen Hitogoto Desu Kara ~Toaru Bengoshi no Honne no Shigoto~,” which airs every Friday at 8:00 PM.

In “Shosen Hitogoto Desu kara,” Kento takes on the role of the sharp-witted lawyer Osamu Yasuda. Yasuda navigates the murky waters of modern societal issues such as internet backlash, SNS conflicts, and defamation, all while upholding his personal motto of “It’s someone else’s problem.” This legal drama offers viewers a refreshing blend of satisfying resolutions and dark twists as Osamu tackles these challenges head-on.
The song “HITOGOTO feat. Kento Nakajima” perfectly mirrors the drama’s themes. Kento, who played a significant role in the songwriting process, crafts lyrics that reflect the delicate balance of living amidst tenuous social connections and the overwhelming influx of words on social media. It poignantly captures the essence of navigating a world filled with “other people’s problems” while striving to maintain one’s humanity.
Kento shared his excitement about this new chapter in his career, explaining that this fresh start has allowed him to embrace new experiences both as an actor and as an artist. He expressed his honor in being part of the “HITOGOTO” project, noting that creating a song for a drama has always been a dream of his.
“It feels incredibly personal and fulfilling,” he said, adding that he believes he’s successfully channeled his current thoughts and energy into the lyrics and performance. He reflected on how people on social media often view small communities as if they are monumental, and through his lyrics, he wanted to explore what we should truly cherish and what defines our individuality in such times.
When asked about his feelings upon being chosen for the role and his impressions after reading the script, Kento conveyed his intention to approach this project with the mindset of a newcomer since it is his first drama after graduating from Sexy Zone (now timelesz).
He remarked, “As I progressed through the script, I realized that it deals with issues common to everyone in the digital age—struggles, worries, and interactions with smartphones. The way my character, the lawyer, cuts through these problems decisively and leaves a refreshing feeling was incredibly satisfying and exhilarating for me as well.“
Addressing the relevance of the legal drama’s themes, Kento noted that in the small world of smartphones, modern people are often troubled by the barbs and lies born in the “comments section.” While avoiding such comments is ideal, it’s not always possible.
He emphasized, “Through this drama, I hope to show how to handle these situations legally, what consequences await the perpetrators, and what resolutions the victims might find. My character, Lawyer Osamu Yasuda, teaches these lessons with a fierce coldness but also with a momentary gentleness. I hope you enjoy this extremely dry aspect of my performance (laughs).“
Finally, Kento left a message for viewers eagerly anticipating the drama: “In this age dominated by SNS, we encounter, believe, and sometimes get confused or troubled by various information. Reflecting on the sights and experiences I’ve seen in the cases Yasuda handles in the story, I hope to present a thrilling and dangerous drama that can only be seen here. About the song too, Kento shared: “As I progressed through the script, I realized that it deals with issues common to everyone in the digital age. The way my character cuts–and with so much sass–through social problems like defamation and cyberbullying was satisfying both for me as an actor and as a modern-day person on the internet, and I tried to pull as much as I could from that into crafting HITOGOTO for the show’s theme.
Being my first writing credit for a song (legally) available to the entire world is also incredibly exhilarating. Having only just started my solo journey a few months ago, there’s so much I want to share with my fans both at home and overseas, and I thank every one of them from the bottom of my heart for their trust and support through each step along this road.”
HITOGOTO is not the only project that Kento has on his plate right now. Earlier, it was revealed that GEMN was a special collaboration with Tatsuya Kitani exclusively for the song “Fatal,” the opening to the second season of the worldwide popular series “Oshi no Ko.” The fast-paced track with an industrial beat is tempered by Kento’s soft yet powerful vocals, making “Fatal” a perfect fit for the intense and captivating world of “Oshi no Ko.”
