Our brightest sun Taisei Fukumoto is set to release his long-awaited first photobook, titled Fukumoto Taisei 1st Photobook — 雲間 (Kumoma), on Friday, December 12.
Themed around the concept of “a weekend getaway with Taisei,” the book captures both his playful charm and his quietly mature side through a series of intimate, cinematic shots.
The title Kumoma (meaning Between the Clouds) was chosen by Taisei himself.
Like sunlight breaking through the clouds, the name reflects the idea that “even when we’re apart, our hearts remain connected.”

Unlike my usual artist activities, this shoot explored many different situations and expressions, and I can’t wait to see how everyone reacts once it reaches your hands.

The book also features a “50 Questions, 50 Answers” segment and a long personal interview, giving readers an intimate look into his thoughts and daily life—a photobook that feels like spending time with the real, down-to-earth Taisei Fukumoto.
