Former AmBitious member Gaku Kawashita resumes activities after a 6-month hiatus. In an exclusive interview with News Post Seven, Gaku reveals his struggles, departure from the group, and his plans for the future.

Gaku Kawashita was a member of STARTO ENTERTAINMENT‘s Junior group named “AmBitious“. Due to health concerns, Gaku was on hiatus since June 13, 2024, and eventually left the group and the company on March 31, 2025. After a 6-month rest, he expresses his wishes to resume activities as an independent artist.
In his interview with News Post Seven, he started it off with a sincere apology and stepped up to clear the air.
He shared his experiences during his hiatus, where he had three part-time jobs and focused on self-reflection. In these three part-time jobs, he was working at a yakitori izakaya run by an acquaintance of his father, a karaoke bar where his friend also worked, and through the karaoke bar’s manager, he got a job at a cleaning company. All of which are shift-based, but he only had one day off per week.
Aside from his idol activities, he hadn’t worked up until that point and couldn’t even pour a beer at an izakaya. After a while, he was at an average level.
He admitted that at first he didn’t want to have any free time to avoid worrying about his future, as he only knew entertainment. He pushes to work daily until late at night, where he goes to bed as soon as he reaches home, and goes back to work as soon as he wakes up.
During this uncertainty, a customer recognized him at the karaoke bar and requested that he sing. Despite the trouble he had caused before, the customer cried in happiness. From that moment, he felt a strong hope to not give up singing in front of people.
Aspiring to be a singer at a young age, his former company recognized his passion and talent, which allowed him to gain a variety of experiences to further develop his strengths. “They made me love singing even more, which I already loved. I am so grateful for that,” he said in the interview.
After a roadblock, he had realized that there were still many people waiting for his return. He expresses his wish to deliver his songs to those people one more time and decides to resume his activities.
His plans for the future are to focus on resuming his lessons, which he funds from his part-time work. He has already secured a job as a voice actor and plans to steadily upload songs and covers on his Instagram and TikTok, listening to every feedback and polishing his work. Gaku’s main goal is to sing at an event.
“I want to become a singer who can move people with my songs and make them cry.”
Since the interview that was released on November 15, 2025. Gaku has then been regularly updating song covers and photos on both his Instagram and TikTok.
