Popular youth manga “Douse, Koishite Shimaunda” (どうせ、恋してしまうんだ) [English Title: Anyway, I’m Falling in Love with You] will be adapted into a stage play starring four AmBitious members Leo Nagaoka, Rikuto Ura, Rion Ouchi, and Taro Yoshikawa. Manami Igarashi also joins the casts as the play’s main female lead.
“Douse, Koishite Shimaunda” is an original work written and illustrated by Haruka Mitsui that is serialized in Kodansha’s monthly shoujo manga magazine “Nakayoshi”. It has released nine volumes so far with a total circulation of over 1.2 million copies. The story follows the female high school protagonist, Mizuho Nishino, and her four handsome childhood friends’ everyday life that is filled with heart-racing moments. A dazzling tale of youth begins!
LEO NAGAOKA ABOUT THE PLAY
This is my first time acting in a romance play, so I’m nervous, but I’ll do my best to perform well! And, since the original work is about a high school student, I’ll try my best to remember myself as the high school student I was last year. The 3 members of AmBitious have experienced performing in stage plays and in musicals so it’s very encouraging! We will do our best with everyone’s help!
URA RIKUTO ABOUT THE PLAY
I’m very happy to be casted in this stage play!! When it was decided, I immediately read the entire manga! I will practice hard so I would be able to express not only the heart-racing love story but also the emotional development from a high school student turning into an adult. I’ll do my best!!
RION OUCHI ABOUT THE PLAY
I love acting, so I’m happy to be able to perform in such a wonderful stage! Since the love story unfold on stage, I want to do my best to make the audiences’ hearts flutter. I’ll work hard on my role and the play and cherish each and every scene whole heartedly. Please come to the theater!
TARO YOSHIKAWA ABOUT THE PLAY
I’m AmBitious’ Taro Yoshikawa. It is my first time acting in a romance play and I’m really excited! Taro Yoshikawa will be portraying a handsome man like the ones you see in the manga, and I want to use this opportunity for people to get more people to know me. I will do my best so that people may think I look cool on stage!
The stage play will be performed in Tokyo and Osaka by February 2025 following its anime adaptation in January 2025. More details about the show’s casting, schedules, venue, and ticketing will be announced in the future.
