On August 23, solo artist Taisei Fukumoto embarked on his first nationwide live house tour, “Yonmoji” (よんもじ; Four letters), kicking off at Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO, Tokyo.
The second show of the tour took place at cube garden in Sapporo, on August 28. This report covers the Sapporo night of the tour, showcasing Taisei’s heartfelt connection with his fans and the creative vision that shaped the stage and performances.

The stage design, reflecting his personal touch and idol vision, was crafted to evoke a sense of intimacy and warmth. “I based it on what I think being an idol means,” Taisei explained, offering a glimpse into the inspiration behind the aesthetics.
The set was simple yet evocative, underscoring the personal nature of the tour. The tour logo featured bold, capitalized letters surrounded by delicate clouds and stars, accented by a crown and glowing sun. It’s something that fans have associated with Taisei for a long time, given his brighter-than-the-sun aura and how he embodies what being an idol means.
Complementing the visual elements, Taisei ensured that every detail was thoughtfully prepared for the fans. Each attendee received a special photo card with the lyrics of “Yonmoji” and the setlist for the show along with a QR code leading to a special video for the tour. This personal touch served as a meaningful keepsake, making the night even more unforgettable.
The stage was minimal, with just a microphone and a keyboard adorned with an array of flowers, reflecting the raw, heartfelt atmosphere of the evening. Taisei closely collaborated with the staff to bring his ideas to life, ensuring every detail reflected his artistic vision.
The opening song, “Yonmoji,” which shares the tour’s title, held deep emotional resonance. Written by Taisei himself, the lyrics—built around four-letter words—conveyed his thoughts and feelings, drawing the audience into his world. It conveyed all the things he wanted to say to all of his waiting fans directly—not through words, a screen, or a photo.
As he quietly took his seat by the keyboard, the murmurs and excited cheers from the audience stilled. His soft piano notes and heartfelt vocals created a serene atmosphere in the live house, making the crowd feel as though time had stopped.
“The entire lyrics of the song are words that I wanted to convey,” he shared when asked about the meaning behind the song, and with his heartfelt performance echoing in the venue, his words were conveyed to everyone present.
Currently, Taisei has nine original songs, all of which were included in the show. The heartfelt ballad “Yonmoji” was the perfect opener, establishing an emotional connection with the audience right from the start. In contrast, “I wanna meet U” lifted the energy with its bright, refreshing melodies, making everyone feel welcome and evoking the cozy feeling of reuniting with someone special. Its catchy pop rhythm had the entire venue buzzing with excitement.
The city pop-inspired “Koi no Joushou Kiryuu” (恋の上昇気流) had the crowd swooning, with fans waving their penlights in time to the sweet, infectious melody. Meanwhile, “Unspoken Love” captured the collective mood of the hall, as Taisei’s radiant performance made hearts flutter with every beat. This undeniably cute song, paired with his wide, genuine smile, spread joy through the audience, creating a warm, shared moment.
“Egoistic Halloween” (エゴイスティック・ハロウィン) transformed the atmosphere from cute to cool the moment it started playing. With just a chair as his prop, Taisei exuded mature confidence, expertly owning the stage. It felt as though the song was a playful response to all the audience’s “cute” comments as if this song was intended to prove to everyone the opposite. The song highlighted Taisei’s unique and distinct vocal color in a way that can only be described as sensual and addicting.
Bringing back a brighter, more playful vibe, “Otona Soda” (オトナソーダ) was an instant crowd-pleaser, with its upbeat, catchy rhythm that encouraged everyone to dance along. The song’s quintessential J-pop sound, coupled with easy-to-follow choreography, made it a highlight of audience participation, as smiles and shared movements lit up the venue. Taisei and the audience enjoyed the song to its fullest, smiling together as he could see everyone join in dancing.
The dramatic “phenomenon” offered a stark contrast, with a sound reminiscent of an anime or drama ending theme. The song showcased Taisei’s lower vocal range and emotional delivery, making it a standout for its depth and intensity. On the other hand, “SUPER LADY FIRST” turned up the heat with its bold, high-energy sound and fast-paced lyrics, driving the momentum of the show to a thrilling high as Taisei displayed his impressive dance skills.
Embodying the essence of idol pop, “EVERYBIRTHDAY” sparkled with classic J-pop elements—bright, catchy, and effortlessly fun. It’s the kind of song that belongs at every party, inviting everyone to let loose and celebrate while creating unforgettable memories together.
Throughout the night, Taisei’s versatility as a performer shone through. His setlist blended energetic idol pop with slower, heartfelt songs, as well as medleys and covers, each delivered with sincerity to the audience. With each song he performed, he showed his fans all the different sides of him as an artist, and his determination and passion shone through.
“I’m home.”
Not only did this setlist highlight his musical talents, but it also reflected his passion for creating music that speaks directly to the heart. The classical idol pop songs—a genre that he has skillfully mastered over the years—provided an energetic rhythm that was perfectly matched by his radiant smile and magnetic stage presence, igniting a lively and joyful atmosphere.
Watching Taisei on stage was like witnessing a meteor shower—each song a streak of brilliance, each moment magical, before fading into another, only to return again, brighter and more promising than before. He wasn’t just a star; he was an entire constellation, brighter than the sun, lighting up the night for all who watched.
The intimate livehouse setting allowed for close interaction between Taisei and his fans, a dynamic that he thrives on and that his fans really enjoy. “But when I was finally able to see the faces of my fans directly and meet my fans face to face it made me extremely happy,” he said with a smile that radiated warmth and gratitude.
His energetic expressions spread through the crowd, making each moment feel personal as if he was performing solely for them. Fans had been eagerly anticipating his return to the stage, and the reunion was nothing short of magical.
The concert also featured lively talk sessions where Taisei’s natural charm shone through. His playful banter with the audience was both adorable and heartwarming, as he responded to fans’ comments with quick wit and genuine affection. These interactions reinforced the intimate connection he shares with his fans, making the event feel less like a performance and more like a conversation between close friends.
Taisei’s stage costumes, also designed by him, added a special touch to the show. Each outfit was meticulously crafted to align with the theme of the tour, emphasizing the sparkling idol image he embodies. His radiant smile and charming stage presence made every costume change feel like an integral part of the show’s narrative.
Just like his fan club name, “Colorfull,” the show is full of colors and paints your world brighter and more vividly. Just like he wanted with the community, where he wanted to ensure that every day was a bit more vibrant for his fans, the show reflected his desire to share the colorful journey and scenery of his career.
To many, this show and tour have filled their lives with color again, and the sight of fans eagerly waving their penlights in unison to his songs created an atmosphere of warmth and belonging. Even if the songs were new and unknown to almost everyone in the public, the bond between Taisei and them was not.
Sharing approximately 1.5 hour with him in this intimate setting felt surreal, as if time itself had gently bent to create a world where only Taisei and his fans existed. Every moment was filled with connection, from his heartfelt piano ballads to the energetic idol performances that had the audience on their feet.
This wasn’t just a concert; it was an invitation into Taisei’s heart, where each note, each glance, and each smile felt like a personal message to everyone present. In a way, the concert felt like finally coming home.
“Welcome home!”
The tour marks a significant milestone for Taisei as a solo artist. “It’s my first time doing a nationwide tour, and honestly, I was nervous about whether the venues would fill up. But seeing so many familiar faces here has filled me with happiness,” he confessed during the interview. His gratitude was evident in every word and action, deepening the bond between him and the audience.
With his national live house tour in full swing, Taisei has set the stage for a bright and promising future as an artist.
