The most magical and eagerly anticipated season of the year is beginning to light its first candles, bringing back a familiar face that has become synonymous with warmth, wonder, and the holiday spirit. Renowned artist and NEWS member Takahisa Masuda has been officially chosen —for the second year in a row— as the Support Ambassador for the prestigious event “Christmas Wonderland“, which will run from December 12 to December 25, 2026, at the iconic Tokyo Theatre Orb.
This renewal reaffirms the profound impact, empathy, and closeness that Massu projected during his involvement in the previous edition. His remarkable ability to genuinely connect with audiences while conveying messages of joy and togetherness quickly established him as the ideal figure to champion a project of this magnitude, where festivity and awe blend to create unforgettable memories for people of all ages.
Massu’s appointment as the ambassador for this grand holiday event represents much more than a standard artistic or promotional collaboration; it marks the continuation of an alliance rooted in shared values: generosity, hope, and the desire to provide a comforting space of happiness amidst the fast pace of modern life. During the announcement, an atmosphere of shared enthusiasm filled the air, both from the organizers and the artist himself, who has repeatedly shown his deep fondness for the year-end festivities. Known for his versatility on stage and his genuine warmth, Massu embraced this new challenge with the same excitement as the first day, promising to pour his heart into ensuring this edition surpasses all expectations.
Ever since its premiere in 2016, this extraordinary show has brightly illuminated Shibuya’s winter skies, establishing itself as a must-visit highlight within the year-end cultural and festive calendar. Featuring talented singers and dancers hailing from the United States, the production blends stunning lightning, monumental decorations, and a vibrant atmosphere to create a special place brimming with emotion and excitement that captures the purest essence of Christmas.
The musical selection performed on stage is remarkably diverse, ranging from timeless Christmas carols like “Jingle Bells” and “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” to energetic pop tracks, gospel, and beloved Disney numbers. The cast’s powerful vocals resonate in harmony with the elaborate set design, which recreates various festive scenes and envelops the entire venue in an uplifting atmosphere. With every song, the stage transforms before the audience’s eyes, shifting from the snowy, holiday-lit streets of New York to the grand reveal of a towering Christmas tree.
Massu himself warmly recalled enjoying the special atmosphere of the show, stating: “Even if you don’t know the exact title, you’ll immediately recognize each song and think, ‘Yes! This is the one!’ The setting changes with every song, so in every scene you truly get that feeling of ‘this is what Christmas is all about.'”
Although Massu will not be performing on stage himself, his leading presence as the official ambassador throughout these two weeks in December remains key. The event’s visibility is set to soar, drawing in not only the artist’s devoted fans —who consistently offer unwavering support across all his endeavors— but also families and couples looking to experience a magical and heartwarming moment. Massu’s unique charisma will undoubtedly add a touch of distinction and intimacy to this grand international production.
Repeating this role for a second consecutive year proves that the harmony between the performer and the event’s core identity is both organic and enduring. At a time of year suited for reflection and gathering with loved ones, figures like Massu remind us of the importance of keeping our sense of wonder and compassion alive. With preparations well underway and the countdown officially beginning, anticipation continues to build. “Christmas Wonderland” promises to warm hearts this winter, and with Massu guiding the way as its honorary ambassador, success and emotion are more than guaranteed.
