Taisei Fukumoto has been announced as part of the cast of Tokyo Revengers: The Musical #3 CHRISTMAS SHOWDOWN ARC, taking on the role of fan-favorite character Chifuyu Matsuno. The production is scheduled to run in Tokyo and Osaka in August and September 2027.
Based on Ken Wakui’s popular manga Tokyo Revengers, the story follows Takemichi Hanagaki, who travels 12 years into the past in an attempt to save his former girlfriend, Hinata Tachibana, and change the course of his life.
The upcoming musical marks the third installment in the stage adaptation series, following the original production in 2023 and Bloody Halloween in 2025. This time, the story moves into the Christmas Showdown arc, which centers on the growing conflict between the Tokyo Manji Gang and the Black Dragon gang, led by the intimidating Taiju Shiba. As Takemichi attempts to change the future once again, he finds himself caught up in the troubled relationships within the Shiba family, with Chifuyu standing by his side as one of his closest allies.
Joining Fukumoto are Sousho Tomimoto as protagonist Takemichi Hanagaki, Ryo Kitamura as Manjiro “Mikey” Sano, and Ikumi Isaka as Ken “Draken” Ryuguji. The cast also includes Ryo Kitazono as Taiju Shiba, Ryoshiro Tsuji as Hakkai Shiba, and Riona Tatemichi as Yuzuha Shiba. Meanwhile, several cast members from previous productions will reprise their roles.
The production will once again be directed by Kaori Miura, with script and lyrics by Muck Akazawa.
