Travis Japan’s Noel Kawashima Celebrates 30 with Book Launch

Mark your calendars for November 22nd, because Travis Japan’s Noel Kawashima is about to make a special debutโ€”this time, not on stage, but as an author!

On his 30th birthday, Noel will release his very first book, Idol no Filter (The Idol’s Filter), a fully original essay collection that promises to give fans a unique glimpse into his world.

As a member of the vibrant 7-member group Travis Japan, Noel has dazzled audiences both in Japan and abroad with his stunning performances, acrobatics, and impressive vocals. But did you know heโ€™s also a quiz enthusiast and a self-proclaimed certification aficionado, with qualifications like real estate agent under his belt? With a schedule so jam-packed, fans often wonderโ€”when does he even sleep? Does he eat CDs for breakfast?

In his new book, Noel steps into the role of a writer for the first time, and he’s doing it in style. Every page of Idol no Filter is carefully penned by Noel himself, filled with his reflections on the curious moments of daily life and the realizations heโ€™s madeโ€”all viewed through the unique lens of an “idol.” Fans can also look forward to exclusive stories from his time studying abroad in Los Angeles in 2022, a trip thatโ€™s now considered legendary among his fans as a major turning point for him and the group.

To celebrate the launch of his debut book, a special talk event and book signing will be held in Tokyo on November 22nd. Fans who pre-order the book will be able to take part in this exclusive event, and all the details can be found on the official website. Itโ€™s bound to be an unforgettable day for both Noel and his fans!

Noel shared his excitement about this milestone moment, saying: “The dream Iโ€™ve held for so longโ€”to write a bookโ€”has finally come true, and on my 30th birthday, no less! From my fresh-faced days as a 17-year-old idol, to my 22-year career as a semi-veteran, to the me now, on the cusp of turning 30, I hope you enjoy these raw and candid thoughts of mine.

Idol no Filter is packed with thought-provoking essays like:

  • “The Idol’s Filter”: What does it mean to be an idol? Once a profession that didnโ€™t even exist, today, many people dream of stepping into that spotlight.
  • “Otaku Friends”: Recently, I had a realization: I think I want friends! What does that even mean for me?
  • “Criticism is a Supplement”: In this day and age, celebrities are bombarded with negative wordsโ€”slander, gossip, false rumors. How does one deal with all the criticism that seems to come out of nowhere?

With his charm, wit, and wisdom, our Brain Tiger, Noel Kawashima is ready to take fans on a new kind of journeyโ€”this time, through his words. Whether youโ€™re a long-time fan or new to the world of Travis Japan, Idol no Filter is a must-read!
