‘THE CODE’ by Kento Nakajima: Cheering song for Concordia

Kento Nakajima’s anticipated international drama “Concordia” is now streaming on Hulu Japan, finally allowing all the domestic fans of Kenty to witness and enjoy his debut in the international film market.

Originally streaming on SkyShowtime, Europe’s newest streaming service, the social-technological crime-thriller series is now streaming exclusively on Hulu Japan with new episodes every Friday, with a total of 6 episodes.

Powered by AI surveillance, Sweden’s Concordia is the town of the future, built on surveillance and data collection – not for nefarious self-serving purposes, but for the greater good of society’s citizens, with the leadership’s goal to create a freer, fairer, and more humane society. By its 20th anniversary, Concordia is an indisputable success but when on the verge of expansion, twin catastrophes strike: the first ever murder and a hack of the town’s impenetrable AI – compromising the very foundation and possibility of expansion. A team race to solve both crimes and accomplish the expansion but, in doing so, uncover a shocking original sin that threatens to destroy everything its creators have achieved.

The excitement doesn’t end with the streaming! It has been revealed that the cheering song for the drama, “THE CODE,” is written and composed by Kento himself. The song is featured in the series, starting from episode 4. Kento states, “This song wouldn’t have been born without ‘Concordia.'” It’s another addition to his growing repertoire, perfect in time for his upcoming tour and album.

Reflecting on the two years since filming, Kento shared his thoughts: “It was uncharted territory for me to see how this song would be portrayed in the series.” He expressed gratitude for not only being able to act in the show but also contributing musically, stating, “I’m deeply thankful for the opportunity to have my vocals featured in the drama.” He further commented, “This song, ‘THE CODE,’ would not have been created without my encounter with ‘Concordia.’ I hope it reaches audiences worldwide, across borders.

And reaching audiences worldwide, he has. He has captivated the hearts and minds of many through not only Concordia but also works like Love Like
the Falling Petals

The title of his debut album, “N/bias,” signifies a desire to break free from preconceived notions and evaluations. He explained, “I want to give shape to the words, melodies, and ideas I have now. Most importantly, the concept is to break through my shell as a human being and present my true self.

Looking ahead, Kento expressed his aspirations for his solo career. “I want to create music that can be heard both domestically and internationally,” he said. “I want to be recognized as an icon of Japanese pop.”
