Last November, news was released that Takahisa Masuda from NEWS would be releasing his first fashion book. This work is a summary of the “Private Clothes, MASU Styling” series “私服”連載「MASU Styling」which was serialized in “mina” magazine (published by Yuuseisha) for about 10 years, and uses the word “log”, which has the meaning of “record”.
This new project of the artist includes all the private clothing cuts he has been using for 10 years and also new and valuable shots that can only be seen in this book.
For the cover, a neon yellow color has been used, on which a pink bubble with information about the content stands out. This design, decided entirely by Takahisa Masuda, is deliberately designed without a paper cover or band. In the idol’s own words “Everything I want to tell about the book is in the pink bubble“.
In addition, a panel exhibition will be held in bookstores in five cities across the country for a limited time from 18 to 30 December.
At a press conference held December 17th in Tokyo, to mark the release of the book, it was also announced that a third printing of the book will be made before its release on December 18th.
Afterward, Takahisa Masuda held a live stream that lasted almost an hour, answering some more questions sent in by fans who had purchased the “Styling log” before 25 November via the Tower Records Japan website. He was visibly excited, joking with the staff as he said that for his radio shows he usually gets all the mails on paper so it’s easy to go through them to sort them out, but he got the questions digitally this time so it’s really hard to read everything from his mobile phone and he was finding it harder to keep track of them. He also said that although he could not read all the questions in front of the camera he intended to read them all later.
