On February 17, it was announced that professional figure skater Daisuke Takahashi and NEWS member Masuda Takahisa will co-star in the ice show “Hyoen 2025 ~Kagamimon no yasha~.”

“Ice Fantasy” is an ice show that combines Japanese culture and skating. This will be the fourth presentation, following those in 2017, 2019 and 2024, and will be directed by Tsutsumi Yukihiko . The ice show will be based on Ura Densetsu, a legend from Okayama that inspired “Momotaro”. Takahashi will play Ura, who was considered an ogre, while Masuda will play Kibitsu Hiko (the character that Momotaro was modelled after). The music is provided by LUNA SEA guitarist SUGIZO.
A total of five performances will be held over three days, July 5, 6 and 7, at the Yokohama Arena in Kanagawa.

I will appear in “Hyoen 2025 ~Kagamimon no yasha~“!
I wonder why they offered it to me. With these doubts in mind, I went to a meeting with interested parties. I felt the passion and enthusiasm they all have for this project, and the great love they have for the skaters. They told me that it’s okay if I can’t skate perfectly, but I will try to practice as best I can.
Before I was proposed this project, I had only skated once, this time, for the second time in my life, Daisuke Takahashi was my teacher and taught me carefully! He’s a really cool guy who makes me feel like we’ve been friends for a long time! I’ll do my best to make Daisuke and all the other people involved think, “We’re glad Masuda is here!”
In the Momotaro legend I know, the ogre is the bad guy, but was that really the case? Who is Momotaro? What are the demons?
