A brand-new adventure documentary series, Wild Tripper!!, featuring SixTONES’ Yugo Kochi and TEAM NACS’ Shigeyuki Totsugi, has been confirmed for release. The show follows Kochi as he embarks on a journey across Hokkaido alongside his junior colleagues, taking on various challenging missions.
The first episode will be available on April 10 at midnight, followed by the second episode on April 17 at 4:00 PM. From the third episode onward, new episodes will be released biweekly on Thursdays at 4:00 PM. Further details about the streaming platform will be announced later.
This adventure was born from Kochi’s personal request. A certified camping instructor, Kochi thrives in the outdoors and actively sought out a grueling journey to test his limits. True to his “Wild Tripper” title, he dives headfirst into the challenge, declaring, “As long as I don’t die, I’ll be fine!”—a statement delivered with his signature bright laughter, reassuring fans even in the face of extreme difficulty. In response, Totsugi, serving as the show’s “Wild Planner,” has crafted a series of missions that will push Kochi and his juniors to their limits.
From capturing footage of wild orcas to tracking down people with unique “local surnames,” the challenges are as intense as they are unconventional. Adding to the difficulty, smartphone searches are strictly forbidden. Thrown into the vast Hokkaido wilderness with no clear directions or resources, Kochi and his juniors must rely on their instincts, interact with locals for information, and even attempt serious hitchhiking to complete their journey.
Despite the show’s extreme premise, there’s an undeniable sense of reassurance simply because Kochi is there.
