It has been announced that SixTONES’ Taiga Kyomoto will appear in the movie “Mieruko-chan” / “見える子ちゃん”, scheduled to be released on June 6th. Nanoka Hara stars in the movie, and other cast members include Rinka Kumada, Naenano, Coki Yamashita, Akane Hotta, Saki Takaoka, and Kenichi Takito.
This movie is a live-action adaptation of Tomoki Izumi‘s manga, which has been viewed 90 million times on Comic Walker, Nico Nico Manga, and pixiv comic, and has sold over 3.3 million copies in Japan. In this coming-of-age horror entertainment, a high school girl, Miko Yotsuya (Nanoka Hara), who one day suddenly begins to see spirits, pretends that she does not see them and endures her fears while flatly ignoring them. Taiga plays Zen Tohno, a teacher who has been assigned as a substitute homeroom teacher at the high school where the Miko goes to school. Tohno is a taciturn, gentle, and serious-looking character with an enigmatic air of something different about him. Behind his mysterious appearance lies a “secret,” and as the story progresses, the truth will be revealed.
The movie is directed by Yoshihiro Nakamura, who has a reputation for expressing fear in such films as “From the Bottom of the Dark Water” (2002, screenplay) and “Zane” (2016).
COMMENT BY TAIGA KYOMOTO
My name is Taiga Kyomoto, and I played the role of Zen Tohno.
I have experience playing the role of a teacher, but it was a difficult role with a variety of backgrounds, so I faced this work by chewing over the script many times in my own way.
During the filming period, I enjoyed playing the role with the help of Director Nakamura, who gave me precise instructions, and the cheerful cast members, and I had a really good time at the preview I saw the other day as an audience member. I hope you will enjoy this film, which, in a sense, breaks the concept of horror.
