STARBASE’s project “Drive Your Teenage Dreams (hereafter referred to as DYTD)” for its third installment of the popular “HIACE DANCE SESSION” project featured Kaito Takahashi (member of King & Prince) and choreographer KAITA.
At the centre of the “HIACE DANCE SESSION” initiative is Toyota’s iconic Hiace. So far, they have featured NOPPO (s**t kingz) and RIEHATA, K (&TEAM) and RIEHATA, and finally for this third instalment have been joined by idol and dancer Kaito Takahashi (King & Prince) and KAITA. They are childhood friends through dance, and have a deep relationship both in public and private, as KAITA choreographing King & Prince‘s songs.
Against the backdrop of the familiar matte black Hiace, they perform an impressive dance that gives a glimpse of their long friendship.
This video is also particular about the lighting, expressing the flow of time from evening to morning with light and shadow. The distinctive lighting further enhances the atmosphere of the music and dance, creating a fantastic space.
In the making-off of the dance session, in addition to highlighting the important points about the creation of the choreography, you can find comments from the two participants about the project and the feelings it arouses in them, as well as an unpublished scene about the dance practice that took place a few days before the shooting date.

I saw special people to me offer the best content, so when I was offered this space with my friend KAITA, I was glad that this was no longer a coincidence. As we practiced this dance, I thought about the moment we met, how we became friends, how we can still work together in various ways, how we were chosen to participate and all the miracles that happened. I’ve been using the word “emotional“, but I had a feeling that I couldn’t describe with just one word, so I turned it into dance energy and danced. I hope you enjoy it!

I learned the best I could from my mentor RIEHATA and was able to create the best work with my best friend Kaito. Together with HIACE, who is full of dreams, the 00’s R&B sound and hiphop taste of the two of us projected the elegant R&B style dance work that only the two of us can bring out.
