Yuma Nakayama 「Squall」

It’s been 10 years since Yuma Nakayama had his solo debut with the song “Missing Piece“, and “Squall” is the long-awaited new song!

Squall” is used as the ending theme song for the MBS drama show “高良くんと天城くん” (Takara-kun to Amagi-kun). It’s a perfect match with Yuma’s sorrowful singing voice and how the song portrays the drama’s world.

On October 31st, 2022, Yuma released “Squall” to the world digitally. https://yumanakayama.lnk.to/Squall

It is refreshing to see more STARTO artists release their works digitally nowadays. It’s always been a hurdle for fans overseas to participate in the celebrations of a release as we usually get our CDs a little later than the furage. This way, everyone in the world can be a part of the release party!

“Squall” is hopefully the first of many songs to come digitally for Yuma. I’m really excited to see what the future holds for him in regard of singing. It has been a long time since I have personally seen him active in this side of the industry, so I am ecstatic to have him back making music.

Members Nao Oriyama, Ryusei Fukuda, Koki Kuroda, and Sota Uchimura of 少年忍者 (Shonen Ninja) also take part and dance in the music video as well as for their live performances. Nao Oriyama is also one of the lead actors in the song’s drama, playing the role of Amagi-kun.

If you’re interested in listening to the song in the drama, Takara-kun & Amagi-kun is on-demand on Rakuten Viki. I highly recommend this drama for those who love some slow, but realistic BL drama. I promise you’ll fall in love with it, just like Takara and Amagi falls for each other.
