SixTONES get sweet and sentimental with their 12th single, “NEIRO“, streaming now worldwide exclusively on YouTube and YouTube Music!

On 4 April 2024, SixTONES released the YouTube version of their MV for “NEIRO,” the official theme song of Omukae Shibuya-kun, which stars member Kyomoto Taiga.
The main situation in the music video exudes a nostalgic atmosphere reminiscent of a secret hideout. Children reminiscent of the SixTONES members’ childhood days intersect with the current six members as if slipping through time between the past and the present. The present-day members, gathering and laughing together, along with the children running around, effortlessly depict ordinary daily life as “special moments.”
Filmed at a riverside location, capturing the sunset just before it disappears, the endless straight road symbolizes the journey with loved ones and comrades from the past and the path ahead. The acapella part towards the end highlights each member’s unique personality, accentuated by the vast expanse of the night field devoid of any distractions.
The simplicity of the MV gave it the warm and cozy feeling that resembles that of fond memories. The MV gives you the nostalgic feeling of friendship formed from your childhood. It encapsulates the message of the song, how fate and meeting people changes one’s view of the world around him shown in how Kyomoto Taiga takes moments to appreciate the view of his friends having fun and taking pictures for memories sake.
“NEIRO” is a production that captures the straight, warm, and invisible bond among the six members, made possible precisely because they’re just the usual SixTONES, not portraying anyone else.
Fans felt emotional watching the music video, some even saying that it made them tear up. Fans also mentioned that the music video was a good homage to how the six-member group created a bond over the 10 years that they have been together. Truly, this was a good move to celebrate the anniversary of when their group name was announced on 1 May 2015.
A physical disc version of the single will be available on May 1st wherever Japanese CDs are sold. It will feature additional bonus tracks and behind-the-scenes video extras!
