SixTONES’ New Song “GONG” is the Insert Song for “ACMA: GAME”

On April 7th, the first episode of “ACMA:GAME” was aired on Prime Video Japan, with global streaming following on April 27th, and the new song was unexpectedly released during this first episode!

In the first episode, during the moment when the protagonist, Teruaki Oda (played by Shotaro Mamiya), faces off against his opponent, Maruko Mitsuhide (played by Suga Kenta), in the ACMA: GAME, the new song was played. The sudden appearance of the insert song caused a stir on social media as nobody had heard anything about this beforehand.

Airing without any credits, which is not the first time the supergroup SixTONES has done so: one instance being the opening song “NAVIGATORfor the anime “The Millionaire Detective Balance: Unlimited” (2020), and this time was no different.

The identity of the mysterious insert song was revealed to be “GONG” by SixTONES. This song, specially created for this production, kicks off with a powerful impact typical of the group’s signature high-speed rap, setting the stage for the beginning of the battle in the “ACMA: GAME.”

Each line of the lyrics serves as a message of encouragement for the characters in the drama, and the chorus, which repeats the addictive “Gong of Game,” leaves a lasting impression, emphasizing the song’s powerful impact. It has been crafted into a punchy fight song that amplifies the world of “ACMA: GAME.”

SixTONES’ Juri Tanaka, who plays the role of Ui Saito, commented, “When I first heard it, I was confident that this is the song. I hope everyone enjoys the surprise announcement and gets excited along with the drama.”

Shotaro Mamiya also praised it, saying, “It has an exhilarating feeling like a mixture of rock and roll, and I think it’s a great song that pumps you up like “ガン! (Gan!)” when it plays in the drama.

With a bashful smile, Tanaka responded, “Thank you very much.

SixTONES are currently touring their 2024 tour “VVS,” and recently released the MV for their next singleNEIRO” on YouTube.
