SixTONES’ Taiga Kyomoto’s “Ienai Himitsu” begins its journey worldwide

The film starring SixTONES’ Taiga Kyomoto, โ€œSecret: A Hidden Scoreโ€/โ€œ่จ€ใˆใชใ„็ง˜ๅฏ†โ€œ/โ€Ienai Himitsu,โ€ which will be released in Japan on June 28th, begins its journey worldwide.

As previously announced, the film premiered a month before Japan, at the 24th Nippon Connection Film Festival in Frankfurt.

In addition, the film was exhibited at 26th Shanghai International Film Festival, (14 to 23 June) where Taiga, Kotone Furukawa, and director, Hayato Kawai, participated in the red carpet ceremony on June 15th and Asian premiere greetings at the festival on June 16th.

They uploaded a video on YouTube of Taiga and Kotone‘s reaction when they were told the news. The two were surprised and overjoyed when the film’s producer Yamada told them. Taiga, who said he had a strong feeling that he wanted everyone in Asia to watch the film, was delighted and said he was extremely happy, while Kotone was pleased but also nervous, saying “I know how popular the original was, so I’m also nervous. I would be happy if it gets a good reaction”. When told that they would be participating in the red carpet ceremony and standing in front of the audience, Taiga said “I want to bring in a tutor every day (to study Chinese)” and they both said, “If we have time, let’s eat delicious food there. Shanghai crab?” It was the first time for the pair to visit Shanghai, and it was clear that they were looking forward to their trip there.

This was the first time for Taiga and Kotone to walk the red carpet at an overseas film festival. Taiga said, “It was the first time in my life to walk the red carpet, and the experience was so fast that it was over in an instant,” but he was surprised and could not cool down his excitement, saying, “It was a warm atmosphere as if they respected us,” and “It was an amazing sight and I was honored to be here.” Kotone was pleased with the welcoming atmosphere, saying, “I was glad that the big Shanghai media covered the festival and watched our film.” Kotone recalled, “There were a great number of cameras and media, and it was hot in Shanghai, but I could feel the excitement of the festival even more than that.”

At the Asian premiere screening stage greeting, they appeared amidst loud cheers, in a packed movie theater.

Hello everyone, I’m Taiga Kyomoto (in chinese). Thank you very much for inviting us to the Shanghai International Film Festival. I myself am very excited to be here in Shanghai for the first time, and we are also very happy to see you enjoying this film. We think it is a wonderful work, and we hope that you will love it as much as we do. Thank you (in chinese).

They did a round of Q&A:

Question 1: -Kyomoto-san, please tell us about your impressions of Shanghai.
Taiga: The night view of the Bund was really beautiful yesterday, and since my hobby is photography, I took a lot of pictures with my camera, which I will post on my Instagram! I was able to go to many souvenir stores for lunch today, and there were also many stores that I was not able to enter due to time constraints, so I hope to be able to come back someday for private or live performances.

Question 2: -What were some of the difficult or memorable aspects of your role?
Taiga: The role of Minato is really a life-size character of a young man, so I tried to play the role as naturally as possible, even changing the endings of words in the script to my own way of saying things.

Continuing its expansion in Asia, it was announced that the film will be shown in cinemas in Thailand from August 29th.

Moreover, the film’s official account released three new visuals to promote the film.

No doubt, the film will continue to reach out to the world, so stay tuned for more information in the future!
