During the broadcast of the final episode of the supernatural action drama “ACMA:GAME”, it was announced that the drama will be made into a film, which will be released in Japan on October 25th. SixTONES‘ Juri Tanaka appears in this drama and the insert song is “GONG” by SixTONES.
【ABOUT THE SHOW】
Based on the best-selling manga serial written by Meeb and illustrated by Koji Megumi, “ACMA:GAME”. The protagonist, Oda Teruaki (played by Mamiya Shotaro), was given a ‘mysterious key’ (= Devil’s Key) by his father when he was a child, which led him to get involved in the ultimate brain x psychological death game ‘Akuma Game,’ which is conducted by the demons. Joining forces with his junior high school classmates Saito Ui (played by Juri Tanaka) and Yuki Manabe (played by Kotone Furukawa), he collects the ‘Devil’s Key’, which, if he collects 99 of them, will give him everything in the world. Uesugi Senya (played by Ryo Ryusei) and Shikibu Murasaki (played Arashi Rina), who have strengthened their bond over the course of numerous battles, also become friends, and together they pursue the purpose and true identity of a mysterious organization called ‘Gungnir’ in this survival entertainment film.
【STATEMENT FROM JURI TANAKA (SIXTONES)】
When I heard that “ACMA:GAME” was going to be made into a movie, I was honestly very happy, and felt excitement and joy at the prospect of making one of my favorite works into an even bigger thing together with the incredible team that has been a part of the drama.
The filming, some of which took place overseas, was physically demanding; but I was able to get through it with the help of the local staff. I think the fact that we actually filmed overseas makes the film more compelling, as the scale will be further expanded from the drama with the appearance of even more characters from the source material.
I would be happy if my fans are able to come see the movie, and bring your family and friends to the theater — or share it once available on any overseas streaming platforms like the TV show has been — to feel the thrill of excitement and fall in love with “ACMA:GAME” as much as I have!
