OCTPATH are back with yet another exciting and energizing summer song, and this time we just wanna have FUN!🎶

Nestled in the various scenes of the music video are references to MV’s of their previous releases, such as Run and Like, following their journey and connecting their stories.
FUN is a big change-up from their preceding single OCTAVE released earlier this year, which introduced the newest addition to their team; Nishijima Renta. However, the upbeat pop-rock title joins OCTPATH’s growing collection of summer bops, together with Sweet, Perfect and Come Alive, which were released the previous summer seasons. While showing that they are a versatile group capable of a wide array of genres and concepts, it’s FUN to see that they seem to have found a reoccurring theme!
Aside from the title track FUN, their 6th single features two other songs. Adolescence, a bright, upbeat and youthful song about, well… Adolescence; being in a phase in one’s life as a young person developing into an adult and finding yourself. Break out on the other hand, with its powerful and aggressive hip-hop sound and showcasing the rappers’ lower register, shows another side of the versatile group that is OCTPATH.
The physical release of the single is on July 17th 2024, with the digital version of the single being out now already. Have a listen below, or look them up on your preferred streaming platform!

OCTPATH consists of the eight members Kose Naoki, Kaiho, Ota Shunsei, Yotsuya Shinsuke, Takahashi Wataru, Kurita Kohei, Kobori Shu and Nishijima Renta.

All members are previous contestants of the global hit show Produce 101 Japan Season 2 (2021). Despite not placing in the top debut line-up, they came together to form OCTPATH, debuting under Yoshimoto Kogyo in February 2022 with It’s A Bop.
The meaning behind their group name OCTPATH is that the members (OCT) as OCTPATH walk their unique PATH together with their fans, engaging in wide array of activities, breaking stereotypes, following the PATH up to a to a higher realm (OCTAVE). Their fandom name THme also has multiple meanings. It is a combination of the last two letters of their group name OCTPATH + me, and that Japanese pronunciation of the fandom name sounds like the word for octopus ink (墨; sumi).
Whilst the group has for now only promoted and hosted concerts in Japan where they focusing on promoting themselves and growing domestically, they seem to have their eyes set globally as well. This became apparent with the release of the English versions of It’s A Bop and OCTAVE.
Furthermore, they have recently made an efforts to add English and Korean translations under the members’ personal posts on X, and created tutorials on how to join their official fanclub by members Kaiho in English and Nishijima Renta in Korean respectively.
Leading up and during the release period of their 6th single, they’ve been busy with promoting locally in Japan with release events in Tokyo, Osaka and Imabari (Ehime prefecture). After the release events have wrapped, it’s time for their one-man live on July 20th and 21st called UP TO THE SKY, hosted in the NHK Osaka Hall and Line Cube Shibuya venues accordingly. With an extra day show added for their Tokyo date due to high demand, most tickets already being sold out, and the members’ talks about rehearsing every day leading up to the concert, we look forward to what they want to SHOWCASE during summer! On top of their one-man live, this year on August 1st they’re back on the summer festival SUMMER STATION in Roppongi Hills.

(ストイックOCTPATH!). Just as the name suggests, in this show they collaborate with various artists from the industry and perform their songs together.
