Ren Nagase and Kaito Takahashi star in the new campaign for the popular puzzle game, sharing laughs, dances and anecdotes in a celebration atmosphere that promises to thrill all fans.

If you’re one of those people who can’t go a day without connecting three or more Disney characters on your mobile screen, get ready, because the celebration for 12 years of LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum is stronger than ever. And it’s not just any celebration, but one featuring two of J-Pop’s most beloved stars: Ren Nagase and Kaito Takahashi, members of King & Prince.
In this new advertising campaign, which began airing on 26 December in Japan, the boys invite us to immerse ourselves in a world of glitter, confetti and, above all, lots of Disney magic. But what’s behind the scenes and what surprises do they have in store for us? Here we tell you all the gossip about this new collaboration!
A dream setting for a historic celebration
The new television commercial, titled “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum 12th Anniversary,” does not skimp on details, the set was transformed into a gala party dominated by gold and black. Bright balloons, neon lights, and decorations that scream “celebration!” welcomed Ren and Kaito, who couldn’t hide their amazement when they entered the set.
“Oh, it’s incredible!” they exclaimed in unison when they saw the magnitude of the set. The chemistry between the two is undeniable: while filming the confetti cannon scene, Kaito even suggested his own hand movements to give the moment a more personal and fun touch. It is this closeness and naturalness that makes this advert feel less like a commercial and more like an invitation to a private party with them.
The best thing about this collaboration is that it’s not just work. During interviews after filming, it became clear that King & Prince are just as big fans of the game as we are. Kaito proudly confessed, “I’m a heavy user. My history with Tsum Tsum also goes back 12 years; I’ve been playing it for a long time and I have some Tsums with really high levels.” Imagine coming across his score in the rankings!
For his part, Ren recalled his beginnings with nostalgia: “I love Mickey Mouse because he’s the one we all use when we start out to learn. But after going through that… my favourite is Maleficent Dragon! It’s great how she eliminates Tsums in such a spectacular way.“
That real connection to the game is what transcends the screen. Seeing them dance with matching hats with Chip & Dale (who appear in the new special Tsum skill “Stylish Hat Mickey“) is not just choreography, it’s a representation of the joy players feel when they get a new skill or beat a personal record. But this isn’t the first time Ren and Kaito have collaborated with Disney. In addition to creating their own version of the song “What We Got ~ Kiseki to Kimi to ~” for Mickey’s 100th anniversary, in 2018, they also had a commercial with TsumTsum!
In a very relaxed tone, the boys shared what “magic tickets” they would ask for if Disney could grant them any wish. The answers couldn’t have been more different and entertaining:
Kaito, a diving enthusiast, asked for a “Ticket to breathe underwater.” “I love diving, but I usually have to come up after 30 minutes. I’d like to swim with the fish forever!” he said with a laugh.
Ren, always practical and concerned about his style, asked for something that many will relate to: “A ticket for bleach to work perfectly the first time.” He explained that his hair is very difficult to lighten and that it would save him a lot of time at the hairdresser’s. Even in a fantasy world, Ren thinks about efficiency!
Reflecting on the year that is ending and the one to come, both were excited. Kaito mentioned that in 2025 he achieved many goals, including several trips abroad that kept him awake due to the sheer excitement of flying. For 2026, they promise that the surprises will not stop.
“We have a lot of things in store that will excite everyone,” Kaito assured. Ren added, “2025 was eventful, but 2026 is also going to be “yabai” (amazing). We want to see our fans a lot.”
What is the game about?
The word “Tsum Tsum” comes from the Japanese verb tsumu, which means “to pile up”. The game is basically a mountain of digital Disney soft toys falling on top of each other. Your goal is to clear them from the screen to get the highest score possible before time runs out! Since its launch in Japan in 2014, the game has been released in 154 countries and regions, primarily in Western markets.
- Connect to eliminate: The main mechanic is simple; slide your finger over three or more plush toys of the same character that are together to connect them. When you release your finger, boom! They will disappear and give you points. The longer the chain, the more points you get and the more coins you earn. If you connect 7 or more, a magic bubble will appear. When you touch it, it will explode and eliminate everything around it.
- Fever Mode: At the bottom of the screen, you will see a bar that fills up as you eliminate Tsums. When it is full, you enter Fever Mode: Time stops for a few seconds (a breather!) and your scores are multiplied, this is the ideal time to use special abilities!
- Character Abilities (MyTsum): Before starting the game, you choose one character as your “favourite” (the MyTsum). During the game, clearing plushies of that specific character will fill a circular gauge in the bottom left corner. When it glows, tap it! Each character has a unique ability; For example, Mickey eliminates the Tsums in the centre of the screen in one fell swoop. Maleficent (Ren‘s favourite) causes Tsums to explode when connected for a limited time, eliminating those around them as well!
- Level up and collect: With the coins you earn in games, you can buy “Gift Boxes” to get new characters. Kaito mentioned that he has characters with “maximum ability“. This is achieved when you get the same character repeated several times; their power becomes much stronger and helps you break all records!
- 💡 Expert tip: Don’t wait for the animations to finish. Move your fingers quickly! The game rewards speed. If you find yourself stuck and can’t find any matches, you can shake your mobile (or press the fan button in the corner) to mix up the soft toys!

Don’t miss out on the game rewards!
If you’re a gamer, this campaign is your golden opportunity. Starting today and until 31 January, users can participate in special in-app missions to earn up to 100 tickets (including skill and item tickets). In addition, those who complete the missions will be able to unlock:

The 12th anniversary of Disney Tsum Tsum isn’t just a number; it’s a celebration of a global community that finds joy in simplicity. With the infectious energy of King & Prince, the party is guaranteed. So charge up your mobile, get your fingers ready, and join Ren and Kaito on this colourful adventure. See you in the rankings!
Interview with King & Prince
Q. What are your thoughts after finishing filming the new commercial?
Ren: It has a really festive atmosphere! We filmed while focusing on the excitement, so I hope that comes across.
Kaito: That’s right! We danced in costumes and hats that match the new Tsums (skills) that will be introduced this time. I hope the way Chip and Dale’s movements connect with our dancing is adorable.
Q. If you could receive a “ticket” that would make anything come true, what kind of ticket would you want?
Kaito: Mine would be a “ticket that allows me to breathe underwater.” That’s rare in real life, but I think Disney magic could make it happen. I love diving, but I have to come up after about 30 minutes. I want to swim forever. I want to interact with fish and other things, so please, please…
Ren: Anything is fine? Then, “a ticket that allows me to bleach my hair cleanly in one session”.
Kaito: That would be a big help (laughs). Although it takes time!
Ren: Apparently, my hair colour is much harder to fade than most people’s, so I wonder how much more efficient it would be if I could do it all at once…
Kaito: Because of my job, I change my hair colour quite often, so having that ticket would make it much easier.
Q. Looking back on 2025, was there anything as exciting as this announcement?
Kaito: I’ve had the opportunity to travel abroad a lot this year, maybe five times, including for work and personal reasons. I get so excited every time I fly abroad that I can’t sleep… Even if the flight is about 10 hours long, I spend most of the time awake.
Ren: What!? You can’t sleep?
Kaito: I can’t sleep. I can’t sleep because I imagine what I’ll do after I arrive, eating, watching films, and it’s a space filled with all the things I love.
Ren: Excitement… This is a little different, but a friend of mine from Osaka started teaching in Tokyo. My friend, her mother, and I decided to go to a yakiniku restaurant. It’s exciting to go out for drinks and food with close friends.
Q: What kind of year do you think 2026 will be?
Kaito: There’s still a lot to come. It’s a year full of exciting things that will get everyone excited!
Ren: When 2025 began, I said that this year would be crazy, and 2026 will be just as crazy!
Kaito: 2025 was also the year I was able to keep my word, so I think people will have the same expectations for 2026.
Ren: I also want to meet many fans in 2026!
