Travis Japan To Release Second CD Single “Kage ni mo Hinata ni mo”

On April 15, Travis Japan will release their long-awaited second physical single, 陰ニモ日向ニモ (Kage ni mo Hinata ni mo), a title that translates loosely to “In the Shadows and in the Sunlight.” It’s a phrase that feels almost autobiographical for a group that has learned how to live fully in both spaces: the unseen effort and the dazzling stage, the private doubt and the public joy.

A group photo of the seven members of Travis Japan, dressed in stylish black outfits with green accents, standing together against a dark background.

The lead track serves as the insert song for the TV Asahi drama ぜんぶ、あなたのためだから (Zenbu, Anata no Tame Dakara; Because It’s All For You), starring member Ryuya “Shime” Shimekake. That connection alone gives the song a narrative gravity—but the music itself carries even more weight.

Kage ni mo Hinata ni mo” is driven by a cool, fast-paced beat, sharp and controlled, yet quietly seductive. Built around the contrast of white and black, front and back, the song explores human duality: the face we show the world versus the truths we keep hidden, the calm exterior that masks complex emotions beneath. There’s restraint here, but also confidence—an ease that suggests maturity, growth, and a group increasingly comfortable with their own depth. The more you listen, the deeper it pulls you in.

As usual, fans can choose from multiple editions—First Press T Edition, First Press J Edition, Regular Edition, and FC (Fan Club) Limited Edition—each offering its own window into Travis Japan’s world. Across versions, the bonus content includes the music video, behind-the-scenes making footage, dance performance videos, and variety-style content that reminds us why this group’s chemistry feels so alive and human.

The physical details matter, too, because fans love to collect memorabilia, and Travis Japan always manages to add that special touch to their bonuses. The Regular Edition comes with a limited first-press sleeve case. The First Press T and J Editions include different visual bonus discs along with sticker and trading card sets. The FC Limited Edition adds a photo book, turning the release into something meant to be held, revisited, and remembered.

Each retailer offers its own purchase bonus, too. UNIVERSAL MUSIC STORE includes a Cheki-style (Polaroid) card that feels intimate and immediate, while Amazon.co.jp offers a bold A3 clear poster made to be seen. HMV’s smartphone-sized sticker slips easily into everyday life, and TOWER RECORDS provides an A4 clear file—quietly practical, quietly collectible. TSUTAYA leans into time and memory with an A3 calendar poster, Seven Net Shopping adds a 2L-size bromide, Rakuten Books delivers a photo card, and the FAMILY CLUB.STORE includes a clear bookmark, something delicate enough to live between pages. Other general retailers round things out with postcards—small, simple, and sentimental.

Even the purchase benefits feel thoughtfully personal. Depending on where fans order, those exclusive gifts become quiet keepsakes, proof of being here for this moment.

Adding to the anticipation, an early reservation campaign has been announced. Fans who preorder within the eligible period will receive a serial number for a special early-bird benefit, with details to be revealed later. It’s a promise deferred, asking for trust—very much in the spirit of a song about what lies beneath the surface.

Kage ni mo Hinata ni mo,” Travis Japan continue to move forward without denying either. This second single doesn’t rush to explain itself. It simply stands there—cool, composed, and honest—inviting us to listen closely, and maybe recognize a little of ourselves in the contrast.
