Five years in, and Naniwa Danshi are still choosing effort—still choosing sincerity.

On February 18, the seven-member group will release their 10th single, HARD WORK,” the first physical release marking the start of their long-awaited 5th anniversary year. It’s a title that reads like a mission statement, but the song itself feels more like a quiet nod exchanged between the members and the fans who’ve walked alongside them since debut: we’re still here, and we’re still giving everything we have.

HARD WORK” also serves as the theme song for the late-night drama Yokohama Neighbors Season 1, starring member Ryusei Onishi. There’s something fitting about that—this song arriving as a backdrop to a story about connection, proximity, and the fragile courage it takes to keep showing up. Much like the group themselves, the track carries the weight of growth without losing the lightness that first made them easy to love.

HARD WORK” feels like it’s going to be a checkpoint rather than a destination. You can hear the years in it—the polish earned through repetition, the steadiness that comes from surviving busy schedules, expectations, and change. It doesn’t shout about maturity; it lets it breathe. Adding emotional continuity, the single also includes Never Romantic,” the digital release from last year that quietly carved out its own place as a fan favorite, lingering like a half-finished confession.

The release arrives in multiple editions, each one revealing a different facet of the group at this five-year mark.

The first limited edition (Edition 1) includes bonus video content featuring the “HARD WORK” music video and its behind-the-scenes making footage. The CD also contains a new coupling track titled “Kimi Tōhikō.

The second limited edition (Edition 2) includes the “Never Romantic” music video making-of, as well as the “Never RomanticMusic Video Full Romantic ver., which features previously unreleased scenes that were reluctantly cut and rare blooper footage added to the end credits. It also includes seven solo music videos focusing on each member, titled the “Never Romantic” Music Video Solo Romantic ver. The CD includes a new coupling track, “Mada Haru no Mama.

The regular edition includes two new coupling tracks: “Title Undecided ‘S’” and “Shekimaha☆,” which is known as the ROUND1 commercial song.

In addition, as this release marks the first single of their 5th anniversary year, a limited-time production edition has also been announced. This edition includes “HARD WORK” and the new song “Title Undecided ‘S’” on the CD. The packaging will be the group’s first paper-jacket design and will be sold at a special limited price of ¥728 (tax included). Featuring the irresistibly charming faces of all seven members, this will be a special edition. Production will end once shipments conclude at the end of March 2026.

Additionally, the FAMILY CLUB.STORE online–exclusive “WORKWORK♡ Super ROMANTIC BOX” edition includes a CD with “HARD WORK” and “Never Romantic,” along with a “HARD WORK”–designed smartphone ribbon, a “Never Romantic”–designed alternate jacket, the long-awaited “Never Romantic” solo flake sticker set (“I… became a sticker?!”), and a solo trading card set (Naniwa Academy school uniform version).

The jacket visuals differ across all five editions.

Five years ago, Naniwa Danshi debuted with brightness and promise. Five years later, they’re still bright—but the light has depth now. “HARD WORK” doesn’t just celebrate effort; it’s a track that allows listeners to feel the growth of Naniwa Danshi.

This single isn’t just the start of an anniversary year. It’s a snapshot of a group mid-stride—still running, still smiling, still working hard, together.
