Marking another major milestone in their rapidly growing journey, the eight-member STARTO ENTERTAINMENT Junior group B&ZAI—Ryo Hashimoto, Rei Yabana, Taiki Konno, Rinne Sugeta, Katsuki Motodaka, Yujin Suzuki, Hoshiki Kawasaki, and Michiharu Inaba—held their solo concert B&ZAI LIVETOUR 2026 ROCKNDOL in Nippon Budokan on May 9 at the legendary Nippon Budokan.
Still only in their second year as a group, B&ZAI reached the iconic stage after already surpassing 100 performances during their nationwide tour earlier this year. Their Budokan concerts became a historic achievement: the first solo performance at the venue by a pre-debut STARTO group in approximately 31 years, following KinKi Kids’ 1994 Kick off ’95 FIRST CONCERT. Across three performances over two days, the group drew approximately 27,000 attendees.
Over the course of nearly three hours, B&ZAI showcased the dual identity that has quickly become their greatest strength—an eight-member live band capable of delivering explosive rock arrangements while still embracing the emotional and theatrical spirit of classic idol entertainment. The setlist blended original songs with covers of senior groups such as TOKIO and SUPER EIGHT, emphasizing not only admiration, but a conscious desire to carry forward the company’s long-standing band culture and entertainment legacy.
During the press conference, the members repeatedly framed Budokan not as a final destination, but as a beginning. Ryo spoke emotionally about standing on the stage together with both the members and fans, while also highlighting the significance of inheriting the band culture built by senior artists before them. Meanwhile, Rinne described the concerts as both a dream fulfilled and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with standing on such a historic stage. Rather than viewing Budokan as an endpoint, the group instead spoke openly about wanting this moment to become the foundation for what comes next.
As leader Taiki expressed in closing, the group sees this achievement as something built together with their fans, “BaetZ,” while quietly hinting that even larger goals still remain ahead. For B&ZAI, Budokan was not framed as the peak of the story, but proof that the story is only accelerating forward.
