On July 1, 2026, Taisei Fukumoto brought the warmth of summer and the sparkle of his first solo album to Tokyo’s iconic Sunshine City Fountain Plaza (池袋サンシャインシティ噴水広場), where fans gathered for a release event celebrating his first full-length album, angel wing.
Held across two sessions at 16:00 and 18:30, the event combined a mini live performance with a meet-and-greet, creating an afternoon that felt less like a promotional event and more like a heartfelt reunion between Taisei and the people who continue to support his journey.
The open-air venue couldn’t have been more fitting. Framed by the plaza’s shimmering fountains beneath the Japanese summer sky, Taisei appeared almost as though he had stepped directly out to replace the sun itself. Despite taking place on a weekday, the venue quickly filled with both priority ticket holders and visitors watching from the free viewing areas, proving once again that his growing fanbase is willing to make time whenever he takes the stage.
From the moment the music began, Taisei radiated the cheerful energy fans have come to love. Every smile, every playful gesture, and every lyric carried the bright optimism that defines both his personality and his debut album.
One of the biggest highlights came during “ラビュラビュ,” the event’s designated filming song for the 18:30 show. As fans raised their phones to capture the moment, the atmosphere transformed into one of complete unity. The lyric, “Falling in love with you means I’ve already lost,” floated gently across the plaza, creating one of those rare concert moments where performer and audience seemed to breathe together, as each and every fan (and surely some of the new onlookers too) agreed that you keep falling more in love with Taisei every time you watch him.
The other designated filming song for the 16:00 show, “Kimi ga Sabi,” showcased another side of Taisei’s charm. His expressive facial performance drew constant reactions from the audience, shifting effortlessly between playful smiles and strikingly mature expressions that left fans swooning.
For both of the songs, the backdrop of sparkling fountain spray was timed perfectly by the last chorus, creating a magical view that even made Taisei break into a bright smile, hearing and seeing the reactions of everyone. As always, some of the day’s most memorable moments came between songs. His adorable puffed-cheek expression during a quick water break is still a fan favorite (going strong since the Yonmoji tour), where fans immediately call out “so cute~” the moment he takes a sip, while his sudden loud question—”Today is a weekday, right?“—sparked laughter throughout the plaza as fans enthusiastically answered back. Embarrassed by the overwhelming response, Taisei simply smiled and softly replied, “Thank you,” wrapping the venue in the warm, approachable atmosphere that has become one of his greatest strengths.
Whenever Taisei speaks of gratitude and appreciation, it comes from the heart. No one takes it for granted, and throughout his activities, you can feel that he does his best to ensure that everyone who comes to see him leaves feeling grateful that they support him. The angel wing release event series is still continuing, with the next stop scheduled for August 8 at Abeno Q’s Mall in Osaka.
