The drama “Gokudou Joushi ni Aisaretara” (極道上司に愛されたら), also known as “The Yakuza Boss’s Beloved,” will begin airing its highly-anticipated second season on December 17, 2026. A.B.C-Z member Shota Totsuka and actress Ayaka Konno return in the lead roles, aiming to deliver an even more intense and heart-fluttering romance.
Based on the popular manga by Nao Moshimo, which has surpassed 1.5 million copies in cumulative sales, the series follows Makoto Sugawara, a kind yet overly trusting advertising agency worker who is swept up in a dangerous cohabitation romance with her boss, Ren Odagiri, a young yakuza boss who hides a sweet and affectionate side beneath his cold demeanor.
Following its original broadcast in 2025, the show reached No. 1 on X’s trending topics and consistently ranked near the top on TVer, with its weekly catch-up streaming views exceeding one million, generating considerable excitement and a desire to see the story continue.
Season 2 Synopsis
A year has passed since the turbulent events of Season 1 (read our review here), where, after experiencing Ren‘s profound generosity and love, Makoto was able to regain her sense of self-worth and the courage to take a step forward. Having moved into a new home, the couple are now enjoying a peaceful and happy life together. Meanwhile, at their company, a new employee is assigned to the sales department, and Makoto is put in charge of training them. Her abilities are finally being recognized, and everything is going smoothly in both her professional and personal space.
But then, a colleague announces that they are getting married. This prompts Makoto to seriously consider what the future holds for her and Ren. The pair continue to keep their relationship a secret, however, someone happens to spot the two of them shopping together one day.
Meanwhile, a violent attack targeting the Fudokai yakuza organization, which Ren left to live carefree with Makoto, breaks out. A suspicious presence begins closing in on the Fudokai and, in particular, Ren.
New challenges arise at work, while the couple must also confront Ren‘s dark past. What kind of future awaits them?
