SixTONES releases “ANTHEM”

Nostalgia.

A commonly expressed reaction by fans of SixTONES for their latest release “ANTHEM” was how it took them back to memories of their university days. The six-piece idol group has yet again surprised their fans with the theme of their latest music video. It somehow satisfied the thirst of fans that had always wanted a “Bakaleya University” type of series to follow their previous project “Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou” which was the first project that featured the six of them together.

A fresh upbeat music to welcome in the start of the year, “ANTHEM” will be the main track of SixTONES’ upcoming fourth album titled “THE VIBES” scheduled for release on January 10, 2024.

SixTONES consists of 6 members – Jesse Lewis, Taiga Kyomoto, Hokuto Matsumura, Shintaro Morimoto, Kochi Yugo and Juri Tanaka, and made its co-debut in 2020 with Snow Man, another group from the same agency.

The name “SixTONES” is pronounced “Stones“, with the “ix” in “Six” being silent. The “stones” pronunciation refers to “diamond in the rough“, where the group’s potential emerges as its members continually polish and refine their skills. The name also refers to the six members, each with a distinctive tone, personality and sound.

During 2023, the group released their 3rd album, “Voice,” (“声”) on January 4, and to celebrate the album release, their official TikTok account opened on December 9, 2022. SixTONES also released their 9th single, “ABARERO,” on April 12, followed by the 10th single, “Kokkara,” (“こっから”) on June 14, serving as the theme song for “Daga, Jounetsu wa Aru,” starring the member Shintaro Morimoto and Kaito Takahashi from King & Prince. The music video for “Kokkara” achieved the group’s first 100 million views on September 23.

Additionally, on August 30, they dropped their 11th single, “CREAK,” featured as the theme song for the TV Asahi drama “Knockin’ on Locked Door,” starring Hokuto Matsumura and Daigo Nishihata from Naniwa Danshi.

A physical disc version of the full album drops on 10 January 2024 wherever Japanese CDs are sold, featuring additional bonus tracks and behind-the-scenes video extras!
