Kenta Hino (ๆฅ้ๅฅๅคช), a talented artist from Ehime Prefecture, continues to push the boundaries of musical expression.
Having honed his craft in Harlem, New York, under the mentorship of Grammy-winning singer B. Brvon, Hino has mastered the soulful depths of classic soul and R&B. His powerful and distinctive voice, combined with his unparalleled expressiveness, has set him apart in the music industry.
Since 2021, Hino has been actively performing as part of the unit Emmanon while also forging his path as a solo artist. Alongside pianist Yuki Nambu and drummer/DJ Kazuma Hirao, he has been pioneering a unique blend of Jazz and R&B, captivating audiences with live performances across Tokyo.
In 2024, Hino took on an unprecedented challenge by participating in timelesz project -AUDITION-, a Netflix-featured competition that attracted over 19,000 applicants. Emerging as one of the top 15 finalists, he embraced the unfamiliar world of idol performance, earning widespread recognition for his exceptional vocal prowess. This experience became a transformative milestone in his artistic journey.
Marking a new chapter in his career, Kenta Hino unveils his latest single “Rise” on March 9, 2025, accompanied by a breathtaking music video and choreographed by and performed by fellow timelesz project auditionee Kuha Sano. Fully self-produced, “Rise” represents his evolution from singer to performer, integrating expressive movement and dance into his artistic repertoire. The music video captures a defining moment of awakening, as Hino transcends his identity as a Jazz R&B singer to embrace a more dynamic and immersive form of musical storytelling.
“There are things that can’t be fully conveyed through singing alone.”
With this vision, “Rise” merges music and performance, redefining his artistic identity and setting the stage for an exciting future.
“Rise” is a exemplification to his artistic transformation. The influence of timelesz project is undeniable, as he seamlessly incorporates dance into his performanceโsomething fans never expected from him. His evolution from a Jazz R&B singer to a full-fledged performer is both inspiring and fresh.
He took his audition and participation experience and turned it into fuelf or his own evolution, and that’s a part of what makes his artistry so unique and compelling. His signature and distinctive voice is so powerful that it almost feels too special for anything but solo performances.
The choreography, an element once unfamiliar to Hino, is now an integral part of his performance. Fans were amazed by his growth, observing his movements thinking they feel so natural, and it’s like watching someone who has been doing this for years. His ability to adapt and make every new experience his own is what makes him truly stand out.
Many fans were especially moved by how Hinoโs journey reflected the very essence of timelesz projectโnot just about debuting as an idol, but about discovering new aspects of oneself. The fact that he didnโt win but still used the experience to evolve and push himself even further proves that the project was a massive success, not only for the program but for Hino, too. This is the kind of story that makes entertainment so compelling because watching someone take risks and come out stronger is truly inspiring.
Not only is “Rise” an incredible audiovisual experience, but it also carries an emotional weight. The track feels cinematic, with some fans saying it wouldnโt be out of place in a high-end commercial or movie soundtrack. It’s luxurious, stylish, and polished. Others were thrilled to see Hinoโs signature deep, soulful voice paired with an urban, contemporary sound, creating an experience that is both fresh and nostalgic.
Beyond just technique, the MV showcases Hinoโs ability to redefine his artistry. Fans were quick to point out how he has embraced every aspect of his musical journey, from vocal delivery to movement, and turned it into something uniquely his own. He didnโt just participate in an auditionโhe learned, adapted, and transformed. Thatโs why heโs on the path to something great.
The response to “Rise” has also sparked excitement for whatโs next, with many hoping Hino will continue to explore this new side of himself.
Ultimately, “Rise” is not just a fresh releaseโitโs a declaration. A statement that artistry is about evolution, and that the journey doesnโt end when one door closes; it simply leads to new, uncharted paths. Fans, both old and new, are ready to follow wherever Kenta Hino takes them next.
