A spring farewell wrapped in soft petals and quiet courage.
Spring arrives not with a whisper, but with a gale—”Sakura Typhoon,” the latest digital single from Taisei Fukumoto, time slows just enough for us to feel the weight of a goodbye—before the season pulls us forward once again. Released on April 9th, the song spins a story of parting ways at the edge of youth, guided not by loss, but by the inevitability of change.
Set against the backdrop of graduation season, the lyrics capture the exact moment when everyday life begins to shift. The music video opens with a classic crossroads—literally. A quiet street, a red traffic light, and on the opposite side, something—or someone—is just out of reach.
The red light turns. The world pauses. And in that stillness, two hearts try to hold onto what’s slipping away. These subtle, cinematic details pull us into the emotional stillness that marks the beginning of every real goodbye.
Built on a poignant lyrical narrative and a melodic rush that swells like the season it honors, “Sakura Typhoon” paints the picture of two people connected by memory, divided by the future. Graduation looms, dreams pull them in different directions, and yet, even as the signal blinks forward, their hearts linger in the moment.
The song is the beauty of spring with the bittersweet ache of parting. It’s not dramatic—it’s gentle, reflective. A soft smile. A silent decision. And the courage to walk forward.
It’s those feelings the MV captures in everyday moments: walking in school uniform, sitting alone in a sunlit classroom, gazing out from a rooftop as cherry blossoms flutter past. There’s no grand gesture—just the beauty of a season that’s always too short, and the memories that linger even after it passes.
With heartfelt vocals by Taisei, the song shifts seamlessly between nostalgia and hope. The chorus bursts like petals in the wind, while the verses anchor us in the quiet ache of growing up and moving on.

As cherry blossoms bloom in breathtaking close-ups, we’re reminded that beauty doesn’t last forever, but that’s exactly why we hold on to it.
Lyrically, the song plays with dualities—past and future, goodbye and hope, dreams and love—and captures the essence of a seasonal love that refuses to fade, even after it ends.
The arrangement sweeps like a breeze—gentle at first, then surging with emotion. Taisei’s vocals ride that current with raw, unshaken sincerity, a softness that has been carefully developed over the year since his comeback.
It’s a track that understands the power of “goodbye” when it’s said with love—and the strength it takes to carry both romance and ambition on the same path. For fans of emotional storytelling and seasonal anthems, “Sakura Typhoon” is your spring soundtrack.
The Sakura season is always fleeting and has long represented beginnings and goodbyes, along with the graduation season. Just like youth, just like love, just like the last walk home from school. “Sakura Typhoon” was written with all those feelings in mind—the quiet panic of change, the beauty of dreams, and the bittersweet farewell between two people who meant something to each other.
From the image of a blinking crosswalk light to the final vow of “until we meet again,” the song traces the emotional whirlwind of that one spring moment—the one that changes everything. The lyrics don’t shy away from the ache of separation, but they never lose sight of the light. The cherry blossoms don’t just fall—they rise, carrying with them a promise.
“Sakura Typhoon” is really a song about that one spring moment—the one where time slows down just long enough for two people to say goodbye without fully saying it. Where the future is just around the corner, but your heart is still stuck in the present.
The kind of goodbye that stays with you—not because it was dramatic, but because it was real.

Cherry blossoms rise, scatter, bloom again.
The lyrics trace a soft storm of emotion—of words left unsaid, of dreams followed, of love that doesn’t disappear just because the path splits. The refrain isn’t a promise—it’s a hope. And hope, like spring, always comes back around.
For those who were around when Taisei returned to the industry a year ago in April, these feelings of hope and relief are underscored in “Sakura Typhoon.” Back then—even when we were unsure, when we were anxious—there was still hope that we’d meet Taisei again. Then, we did. A new beginning after a goodbye. He returned like the cherry blossoms.
“Sakura Typhoon” is a love letter to what once was and to what still might be.
So, let’s part while still beautiful.
