During the February 21st Osaka performance of their nationwide arena tour, “Travis Japan Concert Tour 2024 Road to Authenticity,” Travis Japan announced that they will digitally release their new song “T.G.I. Friday Night” on March 18th during the MC segment.

The “T.G.I.” in the title stands for “Thank God” and is an acronym used in Western culture, particularly in phrases like TGIF (“Thank God It’s Friday”), expressing gratitude for reaching the end of the work or school week, typically on Fridays. In Japan, it’s often referred to as “Hana-kin” (“花金”), and this song expresses the feeling of liberation on Friday nights before the weekend.
For this song’s choreography, Travis Japan collaborated with the globally renowned dance performance group s**t kingz, who are the pride of Japan. During a masked dance battle segment aired on Fuji TV’s “木7◎✕部” in December, Travis Japan had a face-off with s**t kingz. Member Genta Matsuda secured a promise at that time: “If Travis Japan wins, would you choreograph our song?” This promise has now been fulfilled.
The performance of “T.G.I. Friday Night” will be available on the Travis Japan Official YouTube Channel tomorrow, February 22nd, at 5:00 PM. Be sure to look forward to it!

We had the privilege of choreographing the incredibly funky and cool song “T.G.I. Friday Night” for Travis Japan! From the first rehearsal, we were moved by Travis Japan‘s power to make the choreography their own. During the final rehearsal, we thoroughly enjoyed watching Travis Japan dance so cooly and stylishly, feeling like just another fan.
Even amidst their impressive technical prowess, there are parts in the choreography that everyone can enjoy and emulate. We hope that many people will be able to enjoy it, and we’re thrilled to have been a part of it!
