27 December 2025 was not just any Friday. While many of us were already thinking about New Year’s Eve preparations and winter music programme performances, Ren Nagase decided to go live on Instagram to give us what is probably the best belated Christmas (or early Valentine’s Day) present ever!
With his characteristic blend of shyness and confidence, Ren announced the creation of his official personal fan club, which will launch on 14th February 2026. But what does this really mean? Why has he decided to take this step now? Let’s break down all the information to understand why this is such a historic moment for him.
The first thing that stands out about this news is not just the “what”, but the “how”. Ren has always been known for his brutal honesty and closeness to the public. During the live broadcast, he did not simply read a cold statement. He explained that this new project stems from a desire to have his own space where he can show facets of himself that, perhaps, within the structure of a group as large as King & Prince, sometimes take a back seat.
Most importantly, and something Ren repeated almost like a mantra so as not to scare “Tiara”, this is not a farewell. “I don’t want there to be any misunderstandings. King & Prince is not disbanding, our work will not diminish, and nothing will be neglected. The group remains our top priority,” he stated emphatically. One of the details that has most moved fans is the fact that this decision was not unilateral. Ren confessed that he spoke at length with Kaito.
This transparency between them is what keeps the group’s foundation so solid. Knowing that Kaito supports Ren‘s decision gives us enormous peace of mind. There are no rivalries, no secrets; there are two artists who grow together but also need their own gardens in which to plant their personal ideas. Ren mentioned that his activity in his individual fan club will be adjusted to his own schedule, taking advantage of gaps in his diary so as not to interfere with King & Prince‘s calendar. It is an exercise in perfect balance!
A different kind of Valentine’s Day
The choice of date is no coincidence. 14 February 2026 will be the official launch date. Opening a fan club on Valentine’s Day is a statement of intent: it is a gift to their fans, a commitment to mutual loyalty and affection. Although for now it is a blank canvas that invites us to wait a more modern, digital approach and, possibly, much more exclusive and personalised content.
To understand why this fan club is going to be a resounding success, you have to look at Ren‘s career over the last year. Not only is he one of the lead singers of King & Prince, but he has also established himself as a top-level actor and fashion icon. Their appearances in dramas and films have demonstrated an acting range that spans from light comedy to the most profound drama.
What can we expect from the club?
What he said on Instagram Live, the same 27 December was: “On 14 February I will be opening my own official personal fan club. I don’t want there to be any misunderstandings: this does not mean that King & Prince is going to disband, nor that our work together is going to decrease, nor that we are going to neglect anything. King & Prince remains the absolute priority in my activities and my work. Simply, when I have my own time and moments, I would like to be able to carry out activities in my personal fan club. It was a decision I made after consulting with Kaito as well.” His stories on Instagram after the live were also clear about it “I’m sorry for scaring you (with the surprise)! But King & Prince is still number one, that won’t change, so please don’t worry, okay?“
What is the objective? To have their own space to interact with fans more intimately during their individual projects. Ren said that this next year he would travel abroad more often and that he would like to be able to record vlogs, as well as organize closer talks with his fans in places that are not as crowded as arenas or domes!
At the moment, registration is free and until the official opening date, those who register will receive informative emails in their emails, but after new revelations about the content that will be offered on this new fan club that will arrive at the end of January, the membership will become paid and a new registration will be required, there will be no automatic renewal from the free to the paid account.
We are witnessing a natural evolution of the artist. Ren Nagase is maturing, and with him, his understanding of his relationship with his fans. This new fan club is a bridge, not a wall. A bridge that will allow us to get to know the man behind the star better, while continuing to enjoy the magic he creates alongside Kaito in King & Prince.
