ACEes member Ryuto Sakuma and actress Nanoka Hara have been announced to jointly star in the film “A Bouquet of Light for You Who Longs for What You Don’t Have (“Nai Mono Nedari no Kimi ni Hikari no Hanataba wo”) (ないものねだりの君に光の花束を), which is set to premiere in Japan this fall. The two have gained popularity over the years through several main roles—Ryuto in productions such as “Nagatan to Aoto: Ichika no Ryori Cho” (2023), “Uchi no Ototo Domo ga Sumimasen” (2024) and “My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999” (2025), and Nanoka in “Lovesick Ellie” (2024), “Mieruko-chan” (2025) and “Lunacy” (currently airing). This project marks the first time these leads have shared the screen.
The picture, which is based on the novel of the same name by Natsue Shiomi, is directed by Hiroshi Ando, who is well known for portraying the emotional turbulence and brilliance of youth in works such as “Blue” (2003), “My Sister, My Love” (2007), and “Undulant Fever” (2014). In this film, he deeply explores the realistic worries and inner struggles of adolescent protagonists, elevating the story into a human drama aimed at today’s young generation.

No matter how hard we try, we can never fully understand another person’s feelings. But continuing to make the effort to understand them anyway may be the true essence of caring for someone.

“I’m Ryuto Sakuma from ACEes, and I played Mahiru Suzuki.
Although my main profession is being an idol, this was actually my first time portraying an idol in a film or TV production.
I’ve been in this industry for about 13 years, but this experience was unlike anything I’ve felt before.
Even while acting, I found myself repeatedly thinking, ‘Hang in there, Mahiru.’
The person you’re talking to right now may secretly be carrying deep darkness inside.

“While filming this work, what I thought about most in terms of direction was the sense of distance between Kageko, played by Nanoka Hara, and Mahiru, played by Ryuto Sakuma. The reason is that their relationship is something extremely rare, even among films I’ve worked on before.
Hara and Sakuma portrayed this ‘rare relationship’ with incredible delicacy and emotional richness.
Watching these two high school students care for and support one another as they walk step by step through the mountains was — even if it sounds strange coming from the director himself — truly precious, heartbreaking, and unforgettable. Those irreplaceable characters genuinely existed there.
Kageko and Mahiru are both trapped by the emptiness and cruelty of the things they already possess, while envying the things the other person has that they themselves lack.
I hope audiences will watch over the process through which these two become a rare and irreplaceable pair.”
