Snow Man celebrates its sixth year as a renowned group, with a career filled with success and a promising future ahead. Their adaptability and versatility allow them to excel in various areas of entertainment, attracting new fans year after year.

Since their simultaneous debut with SixTONES through the single “D.D./Imitation Rain,” Snow Man—Hikaru Iwamoto, Tatsuya Fukazawa, Raul, Shota Watanabe, Koji Mukai, Ryohei Abe, Ren Meguro, Ryota Miyadate, and Daisuke Sakuma—has topped the sales charts across Japan, solidifying their place as a prominent force in the J-Pop industry. Hits like “Love Trigger/We’ll Go Together,” “Tapestry/W,” and “Grandeur” have surpassed one million copies sold, cementing their place on the Japanese music scene.
The group is known for blending various musical genres, from traditional J-pop to more modern influences. Their remarkable acrobatic skills and carefully crafted choreography set them apart from other artists, delivering unforgettable performances that combine music, dance, and theatricality.
The precursor group to Snow Man—Mis Snow Man—was formed in 2009.
Initially, the members were slightly different from the current lineup.
Later, on May 3, 2012, it was announced at “Takizawa Kabuki 2012” that the original 6 members (Hikaru, Ryohei, Shota, Tatsuya, Ryota, and Daisuke) would be active as Snow Man.
On January 17, 2019, it was announced that three new members would join Snow Man: Koji Mukai from Kansai STARTO Juniors, Ren Meguro from (then) Junior group Uchuu Six (宇宙Six), and Raul from Shonen Ninja. This marked the beginning of Snow Man’s 9-member lineup.
On March 24, 2019, Snow Man held their first solo concert as a 9-member group, “Snow Man LIVE 2019 ~Yuki Man in the Show~“, at Yokohama Arena, and solidified the group as nine members.
Now, years later, on April 7, 2025, another historic moment arrived—this time not on stage but across streaming platforms worldwide. Snow Man’s music became available for digital streaming and download as they released their long-awaited best album, 『THE BEST 2020 – 2025』digitally.
This marked a monumental shift not just for the group but for the fans who had long waited for easier access to their music. With over 1.5 million physical copies sold since its physical release on January 22, the digital arrival of 『THE BEST 2020 – 2025』 represented a long-overdue but deeply emotional bridge between Snow Man and their growing international audience.
Apart from music, several members have expanded their presence in the entertainment industry by participating in television dramas, theater productions, domestic and international modeling, and other acting projects. These projects, along with their charismatic personalities, have helped Snow Man build a close relationship with their loyal fanbase over the years of being active.
More than an idol group, Snow Man has become a cultural phenomenon that embodies passion, talent, and a unique connection with their fanbase. With each new project, the group reaffirms their place as a leading reference in J-pop.
What began as a six-member unit carved from the world of stage performances has now evolved into a global presence—reaching new heights, breaking new ground, and continuing to carry their legacy forward.

Hikaru “Hii-kun” Iwamoto | 岩本照

The leader of Snow Man and choreographer for many of their songs is the athletic Hikaru Iwamoto (or “Hii-kun,” as fans affectionately call him).
Born on May 17, 1993, this Saitama native brings together a mix of charisma, talent, and genuine warmth that captivates everyone around him, and entered the agency on October 1, 2006.
He started learning dance in elementary school and by the time he was in the 3rd grade, he had improved to the point where he was taking classes with adults. At that time, Hikaru, who admired Michael Jackson, decided that he wanted to make a career out of dance.
The first thing that came to mind was the STARTO agency. He quickly wrote his own resume and applied, and after joining the agency, he started his activities as a member of Jr.BOYS, a unit within the agency, before ultimately becoming a part of Mis Snow Man, and later, Snow Man.
Represented by his member color yellow, Hikaru truly embodies a bright, guiding light for both his group and fans.
While he is known for his strong, tough, and masculine image, dedicated to taking care of his body and physique, he also has a softer side. He is passionate about chocolate and sweets, as well as collecting Sylvanian Families. Did you know he sometimes uses these tiny figures to map out his choreographies? It’s this playful and innovative approach that sets him apart, reflecting his unique perspective as both an artist and a storyteller.
Hikaru’s passion for choreography is one of his most defining traits. Since the early days of Snow Man, he has choreographed many of the group’s songs, including “あいことば,” “JUICY,” “EVOLUTION,” and “Love Trigger.” His choreography is known for the use of hands, which convey the message of the lyrics and adapt to the intended message. Tracks like these showcase his intricate and thoughtful movements, blending emotion with technical precision.
Hikaru trains professionally and participates annually in the television competition SASUKE, where competitors must demonstrate great physical endurance. In 2024, he represented Japan in the World Cup edition of the program, further solidifying his status as an athlete and performer. His leadership role extends beyond the group, as he also serves as a mentor to other young people, such as 7 MEN Samurai’s Rinne Sugeta and Shonen Ninja’s Hideki Ajima, preparing to overcome the challenges of the program.
Beyond Snow Man, Hikaru has made a name for himself in the entertainment world. Last year, he starred in the romantic drama “24 Hour Love Guard,” where he played an athletic and stoic bodyguard. He was also the lead in the Japanese adaptation of the Broadway musical “Catch Me If You Can,” a role that contrasts with his involvement in more traditional Kabuki productions, which he has participated in since his young days in the agency.
From gracing the covers of Tarzan magazine multiple times to walking the runway for Hermès and attending Dolce & Gabbana’s Milan Fashion Week, his versatility knows no bounds.
Yet, perhaps what makes Hikaru truly special is his “gap“—the juxtaposition of his macho image with his love for all things cute, like his beloved Sylvanian Families collection. Whether he’s conquering a grueling gym routine or melting at the sight of something adorable, fans can’t help but adore his layered personality.
His solo song “7%” is a sophisticated blend of sensuality, maturity, and effortless cool. While many might have expected him to go for a high-energy dance track or a hard-hitting rap, Iwamoto instead chose to embrace a smooth, nighttime R&B sound that perfectly complements his deep, velvety vocals. This decision showcases not only his versatility as a performer but also his deep understanding of musical storytelling.
What makes Iwamoto’s performance even more striking is his ability to uplift those around him. Whether in music videos, on stage, or in dramas, he has a unique way of making his dance partners shine, gracefully stepping back when needed while enhancing the presence of those beside him. This level of mutual respect and awareness in his artistry only deepens the admiration fans hold for him. His song isn’t just a performance—it’s an experience, a glimpse into his mature, polished world, proving once again why he is such a one-of-a-kind presence in Snow Man and the industry at large.
Hikaru’s leadership is grounded in sincerity and approachability. Though he’s the “dad” of the group, his members love to tease him, a testament to the comfortable and open environment he fosters. Despite his fear of bugs and haunted houses, he’s unshakable when it comes to supporting Snow Man and their fans.
For fans, Hikaru is a beacon of inspiration. His choreographies leave a lasting impression, his performances radiate passion, and his personality—a blend of strength, creativity, and kindness—reminds us all to embrace our unique quirks and strive for greatness. Whether he’s dazzling on stage, competing in SASUKE, or simply enjoying a well-earned sauna session, Hikaru Iwamoto is a leader who truly shines in every sense of the word.
Tatsuya “Fukka” Fukazawa | 深澤辰哉

The oldest member of Snow Man, Tatsuya Fukazawa, is more than just a playful personality—he’s the glue that holds the group together with his humor, warmth, and deep love for his teammates. If Hikaru is the “dad” of Snow Man, Fukka is certainly the “mom.”
Known as the group’s MC and the main representative voice of the group alongside leader Hikaru, he is one of the fundamental pillars of Snow Man. His playful and teasing personality makes him an ideal figure for variety shows, where he also stands out for his excellent conversational skills and ability to interact with guests.
Always ready to bring a smile, he is the first to volunteer as the target of pranks and jokes, showcasing his approachable and fun nature, earning him a reputation as Snow Man’s most “riako” (loveable).
Fukka’s journey into the agency began on August 12, 2004, when his mother submitted an application for an audition on the popular variety show Ya-Ya-yah. Among the audition participants were now-familiar faces like Hey! Say! JUMP’s Ryosuke Yamada, A.B.C.-Z’s Ryosuke Hashimoto, and Snow Man’s own Ryohei Abe. After joining the agency, he became a member of J.J.Express in 2005, alongside talents like Hey! Say! JUMP’s Yuya Takaki and Kei Inoo. However, with the formation of Hey! Say! JUMP in 2007, J.J.Express disbanded, and Fukka transitioned to Jr.BOYS.
Though he’s playfully teased by his members—for things like his “big face” and lack of a driver’s license—Fukka takes it all in stride, embodying a cheerful and approachable nature. Devoted not only to his group but also to other idols in general, Fukka is always willing to help, uplift others, and take on responsibilities when needed.
His ability to listen attentively and expand conversations without shutting anyone down reflects his thoughtful and considerate personality. Not to mention, his dedication to building strong relationships with his kouhais leads him to spend time with them, sharing experiences and serving as both a mentor and a source of support.
Aside from being an idol, he’s also a master of crane games, often clearing out entire machines to the point that staff have had to intervene! His dexterity with UFO catchers mirrors his lighthearted spirit, always ready to enjoy life’s simple joys. A particularly memorable moment involved him winning so many prizes at an arcade in Osaka that he was politely asked not to return.
Fans also praise his caramel-like singing voice, which, though underutilized in many Snow Man songs, leaves a lasting impression whenever he performs.
His solo song “iro iro” is more than just a personal expression—it is a heartfelt tribute to his group, Snow Man, and the fans who have supported him. Fukka, known for his playful and lighthearted nature, chose a song that reflects his deep appreciation for his group members and fans, proving once again why he is the emotional backbone of Snow Man. The gentle yet powerful melody, combined with his soothing vocals, delivers a message of unity, gratitude, and quiet strength.
The lyrics hold a special meaning, and fans have noticed the way he repeatedly sings “Kimi; You” exactly eight times—a number that coincides with the eight members he shares Snow Man with. Unlike other members who used their solo tracks to highlight their individuality, Fukka’s song embraces the essence of the group, bringing together the colors of Snow Man in a single heartfelt melody. Fans have also praised how the song describes colorless days not as monochrome but as a vast, colorless universe, allowing space for infinite possibilities. This resonates deeply with his philosophy of supporting from the background while ensuring that every member shines brightly.
For many, this song was long-awaited. Fans who had spent years treasuring his limited solo lines in group songs now have four whole minutes of his voice, an experience they cherish deeply. His decision to avoid comedic elements—a route many might have expected from him—was met with standing ovations from his fans. Instead, he delivered a song that reflects his sincere love for the group and his pride in being part of Snow Man. Fukka’s voice, filled with warmth and quiet strength, has left listeners feeling reassured that as long as he is there, Snow Man will always be okay.
Known for his bad spending habits, Fukka has a penchant for splurging on luxury brands, showcasing his love for treating himself and others. His fashion sense often includes carefully selected accessories like earrings and rings, reflecting his attention to detail.
This sense of indulgence is balanced by his strong work ethic, as seen in his dedication to both the group and his solo ventures.
Recently, he’s demonstrated his versatility as an actor, taking on mature and dramatic roles in “When Spring Comes” and “My Treasure.” These performances have revealed a deeper, more reflective side to Fukka, showcasing his growth as an artist.
Fukka’s mimicry skills are another charming quirk. Whether impersonating fellow agency talents or even niche characters, his impressions never fail to amuse. His “Matsumoto Jun impression as done by Fumito Kawai” routine, in particular, has become a fan favorite.
For fans, Tatsuya Fukazawa is a multifaceted gem. Whether he’s lighting up a room with laughter, mentoring juniors, or revealing his caramel-smooth vocals, his charm lies in his ability to connect with people. His journey—marked by perseverance, humor, and heart—is an inspiration, and his presence in Snow Man is a testament to the power of dedication and love for one’s craft.
Raul | ラウール

Murakami Maito Raul, born on June 27, 2003, is Snow Man’s youngest member and a captivating force in both the idol and fashion worlds. At an impressive 192 cm tall, Raul is affectionately nicknamed “90% legs” by fans. His striking presence on stage and off has solidified his role as the group’s center and an emerging star across multiple industries.
Although he is the youngest member of the group and debuted at a young age, this has never held him back. Currently, he balances his work as an idol, his career as a high-fashion model, and his university studies, showcasing his ability to manage multiple pursuits successfully.
Raul joined Snow Man at just 15 years old, bringing youthful energy and boundless potential to the group. Despite his age, his expressive and dynamic dance skills stood out immediately, earning him the center position in Snow Man’s choreography. Known for his freestyle dancing during concert climaxes, Raul adds a unique flair that leaves fans mesmerized.
From a very young age, Raul displayed a natural passion for dance. He trained and participated in competitions, which helped him develop into a talented young dancer. Within the group, his exceptional dance skills stand out, bringing energy and creativity to every performance.
Half-Venezuelan from his father’s side, he inherited his exotic looks and towering height from his family. However, he’s quick to admit he’s never been to Venezuela and doesn’t speak Spanish, a fact he shares with endearing humor. His mixed heritage, combined with his Japanese upbringing, gives him a distinct charm that sets him apart in the entertainment world.
Raul’s talents extend far beyond the stage. A highly sought-after model, he began his career walking the runway for Tokyo Girls Collection and has since graced the stages of Paris and Milan fashion weeks.
He has modeled for renowned brands like Yohji Yamamoto and Maison MIHARA YASUHIRO and was signed to the prestigious Parisian agency Bananas Models in 2024. Through his personal Instagram account, he shares his most artistic and experimental side, presenting a visual portfolio that highlights his creativity and style.
In addition to his idol and modeling work, Raul is pursuing higher education. Enrolled at Waseda University’s School of Human Sciences since 2022, he is dedicated to expanding his knowledge and filling in areas he feels he lacks.
Within Snow Man, while Ryohei Abe is known as the intellectual, Raul is close behind as the second “brain” of the group. With a strong and determined personality, he always pursues what he loves. His passion is evident in all his work, especially in his ability to blend the worlds of fashion and dance.
As Snow Man’s “baby brother,” he often teases his older members with playful antics like tickling or harmless pranks. While his bratty side earns him scoldings, it’s always followed by hugs and laughter. The group’s dynamic with Raul is a heartwarming testament to their strong bond—his eight older “brothers” dote on him, often buying him clothes and snacks to show their affection.
Raul has grown and matured alongside his fellow members, who have treated him like a younger brother, protecting and even spoiling him. This sibling-like bond is evident in the group’s dynamics, where he is often seen playing pranks on the older members and getting away with them simply because he’s “the cute little brother.”
“INDUCTION” stands as a striking testament to the fusion of art and idol performance. In his own words, Raul describes the track as a piece that encourages contemplation rather than making statements—it is neither a critique nor a proposal, but rather a question posed to the listener. The Music Video itself is an art piece, challenging the perceived divide between the entertainment of idols and the tradition of fine art. With aesthetic precision and deliberate motion, Raul delivers a performance that goes beyond conventional idol expectations, blending movement, visuals, and sound into a thought-provoking experience.
One of the key themes Raul explores is the evolution of how people consume art and entertainment. In an era where fast-paced digital consumption dominates, Raul acknowledges the allure of rapid information streams like TikTok while also advocating for the value of slower, more immersive artistic appreciation. He reflects on how past generations found joy in deeply engaging with given works, imagining and interpreting them in ways that extended beyond instant gratification. The song and its visuals serve as an invitation to balance these two worlds—one of immediacy and one of deliberation—without favoring one over the other.
Additionally, Raul has shone as an actor, starring in film adaptations of popular mangas such as “Honey Lemon Soda” and “Akabane Honeko’s Bodyguard.” Despite his achievements and strong image, Raul’s youthful nature shines through. He’s grown significantly since his early days, transforming from a shy teenager who once cried backstage into a confident performer adored by fans worldwide. His journey is a testament to the support and care he’s received from his group, family, and fans.
For Raul, the sky is truly the limit—even with his already towering height. Whether dazzling on stage, captivating the runway, or exploring his academic pursuits, he embodies versatility and growth. His towering height might be the first thing people notice, but it’s his heart, talent, and dedication that leave the most lasting impression.
Shota “Shoppi” Watanabe | 渡辺翔太

Born on November 5, 1992, Shota Watanabe is Snow Man’s main vocalist, known for his smooth, caramel-like voice and relaxed yet polished performance style. Represented by the color blue, Shota brings both vocal stability and a unique charm that makes him one of the most beloved members of the group. His distinct vocal tone adds a signature touch to Snow Man’s songs, solidifying his place as the group’s lead vocalist.
Despite his cool and stylish image, Shota is affectionately referred to as the “eternal five-year-old” by both fans and his fellow members. His playful and somewhat innocent demeanor often makes him the target of teasing, even by the youngest member, Raul. At the same time, he serves as the group’s protective “shield,” offering support and balance in Snow Man’s dynamic.
Though he may initially seem reserved or even intimidating, those who know him well understand that he also has a relaxed and playful side. While he sometimes hesitates to join in on his members’ antics, he always gives in eventually, embracing fun without fear of embarrassing himself.
From a young age, Shota displayed a natural affinity for music and performance, making him an elite junior during his trainee days. His journey in the agency began on June 26, 2005, and over the years, he has built a strong presence in the industry. He and fellow Snow Man member Ryota Miyadate share an almost fated bond—born in the same hospital, attending the same kindergarten, high school, and university, and even getting their ears pierced at the same clinic. Their lifelong friendship—called Yurigumi among fans—is one of the most cherished relationships within the group.
Over the years, Shota has worked to establish a distinct image within Snow Man, developing a passion for self-care that has positioned him as the group’s beauty expert. His meticulous skincare routine and unfiltered honesty regarding beauty treatments have made him an icon in the industry. He frequently shares his beauty regimen on variety shows, earning accolades such as the anan Award Grand Prize in 2024 and the Biteki Best Beauty Man Award for two consecutive years (2022, 2023).
His collaborations with brands such as Flaruné and Swarovski Japan further establish his status as a beauty and fashion icon. Additionally, he produced his first lip balm in collaboration with Flaruné, showcasing his involvement in the beauty industry. His Instagram account often features images and videos of his beauty treatments, allowing fans a glimpse into his skincare world.
While he exudes confidence and often refers to himself as cute, Shota has a shy side, especially around women. His love for girl groups such as TWICE and NiziU is well known, making him STARTO’s No.1 girl group stan. On social media, fans often associate his soft facial features with the Sanrio character Cinnamoroll.
A minimalist at heart, Shota is known for his practical approach to fashion, preferring simplicity and quality over excess. He spends very little on clothes, yet his effortlessly stylish appearance makes a statement. Despite his laid-back spending habits, he is incredibly generous—he once entrusted his credit card to his sister, a testament to his caring nature.
“OTONONARUHOE” perfectly captures his essence as an idol and showcases his unparalleled vocal talent. While he may not fit the typical image of a glittering idol, those who know him understand his dedication to his craft and the pride he takes in his role. The song’s lack of choreography highlights his natural movement and expressive dance ability, making it an authentic and heartfelt performance. His ability to deliver technically challenging vocals while maintaining an emotional connection to the audience sets him apart as a true main vocalist of Snow Man.
Considering his demanding schedule over the past year, it is touching to know that he poured his heart into creating this solo, offering not just a gift to fans but also a source of strength for himself. His decision to embrace a classic J-POP idol song, even amidst agency challenges, further solidifies his love for and commitment to his career as an idol.
Ultimately, Shota’s voice is one that brings joy and comfort to listeners. His phrasing, tonal variations, and seamless transitions between different vocal techniques make his song both technically impressive and emotionally stirring.
Beyond music and fashion, Shota has been expanding his presence in the entertainment industry. He is a regular MC for the variety show “Kono Sekai wa 1derful,” where his quick wit and smooth speaking skills shine. He is also recognized for his stage performances, starring in musicals such as DREAM BOYS for two consecutive years. Recently, he has ventured further into acting, starring in the 2024 dramas “Sensei Sayonara” and “Aoshima-kun is a Bully!” (streaming on Rakuten Viki), “The Reluctant Preacher” (streaming on Netlifx soon) proving his versatility beyond music.
Though technologically challenged—often relying on Koji Mukai for tech-related tasks—Shota remains highly active online, frequently updating his blog and Instagram stories. His love for yakiniku, yakitori, and sauna culture is a recurring theme in his posts, making them a staple of his daily life.
For fans, Shota Watanabe is a captivating mix of elegance, charm, and childlike innocence. Whether he’s delivering smooth vocals, perfecting his skincare, or making his members laugh with his playful antics, he embodies a unique charm that continues to win hearts. His ability to balance beauty, performance, and humor makes him an irreplaceable member of Snow Man, and there’s no doubt his influence will only continue to grow.
Koji Mukai | 向井康二

Born on June 21, 1994, Koji Mukai is Snow Man’s resident comedian, photographer, and all-around mood maker. Represented by the color orange, Koji brings infectious energy to the group, often lightening the mood with his Kansai-style humor.
A former Kansai STARTO Junior, his sharp comedic timing and natural ability to entertain make him a key presence in Snow Man’s dynamic. Whether through gags, funny expressions, or simply his presence, Koji has a way of making people laugh—even before he opens his mouth.
Despite his reputation as the group’s class clown, Koji is an extremely talented and hardworking performer. He was born to a Thai mother and Japanese father and spent part of his childhood in Thailand, giving him a unique cultural background. His ability to speak some Thai (which he’s still learning) has helped Snow Man connect with Thai fans, leading to multiple opportunities for the group in Thailand. In fact, Koji has landed a lead role in an upcoming Thai BL drama, as well as in the film (LOVE SONG), marking a major milestone in his acting career.
Within the group, Koji is also known as “photo boy” due to his passion for photography. Since childhood, he has carried a camera everywhere, capturing candid moments of his fellow members. Passionate about immortalizing everyday moments, Koji shares his talent and perspective through his personal Instagram account.
His photos, which showcase the members’ most natural expressions, have become a fan-favorite feature on Snow Man’s blog. He has even expressed his dream of releasing a photobook dedicated to his work.
Currently, he is further refining his photography skills through his ongoing column in AERA, where he learns from professional photographers. In addition to photography, Koji enjoys video editing, often creating creative montages that highlight his passions and personal moments.
As a former Kansai STARTO Junior, Koji has impeccable comedic instincts. His character Massaman from Dokkiri GP became a sensation among Japanese children, further solidifying his status as an entertainer. His carefree and cheerful personality makes him a perfect fit for variety shows, where his natural comedic talent shines.
He is often the target for pranks, yet always manages to make everyone in the room laugh. While he is known for his boisterous personality, he is also one of the biggest crybabies in the group. Whether it’s heartwarming moments or goodbyes, Koji wears his emotions on his sleeve, making him an endearing figure to fans and members alike.
In addition to his comedy skills, Koji is also an excellent cook. A self-proclaimed mama’s boy, he often helped his mother in the kitchen growing up, leading to his reputation as one of the best cooks in Snow Man. His culinary skills have been showcased in various programs, impressing both fans and his fellow members.
Although he is always upbeat, Koji has had his share of struggles. After spending years as a key figure in Kansai STARTO Jr., he was left out of the formation of Naniwa Danshi in 2018, which led him to consider leaving STARTO. However, Takizawa Hideaki saw his potential and invited him to join Snow Man in 2019. With the support of his new group, Koji overcame his doubts and made his official debut with Snow Man in 2020.
Recently, Koji has begun expanding his career into acting. In 2024, he starred in the dramas “Mr. Matsunaga in the Living Room” and “Mountain Doctor,” further proving his versatility as an entertainer. Despite his comedic and chaotic nature, he is highly dedicated to his craft and never fails to put his heart into his performances.
With roots in Thailand, his solo song “Finder” marks another pivotal moment in his career, blending his personal history with a bold step into global recognition. Directed by Prapat Kusirivanichakorn from Thailand, the music video carries a deeply personal significance.
While other Snow Man members have openly expressed ambitions for overseas expansion, Koji, ever the steady and methodical worker, previously stated in interviews that he wanted to focus on establishing himself in Japan first. Yet, in a poetic twist of fate, he has become the first member to lead a solo project filmed abroad, making his journey one of both personal and professional significance.
Beyond the global scale of the production, the song itself feels like a love letter to his fans. Koji is known for his unwavering dedication to those who support him, from his daily updates to the heartfelt messages he shares. His lyrics are filled with references that longtime fans immediately recognized, seamlessly weaving his personal interactions and routines into a song that feels both intimate and universal. It’s a testament to his ability to make even large-scale projects feel deeply personal, reflecting his warmth and sincerity as an artist.
For fans, Koji Mukai is a whirlwind of energy, humor, and sincerity. Whether he’s making everyone laugh, capturing the perfect photo, or showcasing his skills in acting and cooking, he is an essential part of Snow Man. His journey from a Kansai STARTO Jr. to an internationally recognized entertainer is a testament to his perseverance and charm, and there is no doubt that he will continue to steal hearts with his vibrant personality.
Ryohei “Abe-chan” Abe | 阿部亮平

Born on November 27, 1993, Ryohei Abe is Snow Man’s resident intellectual and quiz master, known for his sharp mind, academic achievements, and charming personality. Represented by the color green, Abe-chan balances his idol career with an impressive list of certifications and academic milestones, making him one of the most unique figures in the entertainment industry.
A true scholar, Abe-chan holds a master’s degree in Science and Technology from Sophia University, making him the first idol in STARTO history to graduate from a graduate program. His thirst for knowledge extends beyond traditional academics—he has passed multiple difficult certification exams, including the weather forecaster license (with a 4% passing rate), the World Heritage Certification Level 1, the Kanji Aptitude Pre-1 Level, and even the Space-Astronomy Certification Level 3. His dedication to studying is so extreme that he has admitted to using it as a way to relieve stress, often reading textbooks or solving math problems in between work.
Abe-chan is passionate about knowledge, learning, and science. A graduate in meteorology, he is recognized as the “brain” of Snow Man. He frequently participates in television quiz shows to showcase his extensive knowledge or presents informational segments on scientific topics. He often says that studying is his favorite hobby, which is why he always takes advantage of the free moments in his busy idol schedule to learn something new.
His intelligence and passion for learning had earned him the nickname “Quiz King”, a title he proved worthy of when he won 3 million yen on the TV show Quiz! Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?. His ability to recall facts and analyze information quickly makes him a regular guest on quiz shows, and he frequently showcases his expertise on Snow Man’s official YouTube series 3年J組 阿部ちゃん先生, where he plays the role of a teacher quizzing his fellow members and/or Junior or peers alike.
Despite his intellectual reputation, Abe-chan is also incredibly azatoi, with a naturally cute and playful charm that often gets him teased—especially by fellow member Daisuke Sakuma, who jokingly acts as the Azatoi Police to call him out on his flirtatious gestures and expressions. His ability to seamlessly switch from serious academic discussions to adorable fanservice makes him an irresistible presence, both on stage and off. His charismatic and adorable personality has earned him the nickname “azatoi” within the group, a term that highlights his natural cuteness.
Beyond his intelligence and charm, Abe-chan is a well-rounded performer. He may be slightly stiff in acrobatics compared to his fellow Snow Man members, but his deep and soothing voice, along with his precision in performance, adds a refined quality to the group’s music. He is particularly skilled at fanservice, ensuring that his interactions with fans are as heartfelt as possible.
Thanks to his passion for science, Abe-chan has made significant contributions to Snow Man’s concert productions, using programming and technology to create stunning light displays and visual effects during performances. He is also actively involved in designing the group goods and overseeing the thematic direction of their tours, demonstrating his creativity and attention to detail.
In addition to his idol activities, Abe-chan has successfully expanded into television. In 2023, he starred as a detective in the drama “GO HOME,” a role that fans found fitting due to his analytical and observant nature. This year, he achieved another dream by becoming a regular Friday personality on ZIP!, fulfilling a long-time goal of working in morning television.
While he is widely respected for his intelligence, Abe-chan also has a fun, endearing side. He and Sakuma are best friends, often traveling together—most notably, they took a private trip to Hawaii. Their contrasting personalities make for one of the most entertaining dynamics in the group. Additionally, Abe-chan enjoys swimming and was once a skilled backstroke swimmer, placing fourth in his district when he was in middle school.
He opened an Instagram account, where he often shares updates about his television appearances and promotes his projects, allowing fans to stay closely connected to his career.
Abe-chan’s solo song “Isso, Kirai ni Naretara.” has been described by fans as a refreshing and healing experience, akin to breathing in the crisp air of a serene landscape. Many listeners have likened the MV’s calming aesthetic to the effect of an air purifier, filling the space with a sense of clarity and tranquility. Unlike the often high-energy tracks of Snow Man, his song carries a gentler tone, making it a soothing and heartfelt moment within the album. His choice to sing in a lower key than usual enhances this sense of calm, allowing fans to relax and fully immerse themselves in the song’s emotional resonance.
With his balance of intelligence, humor, and undeniable charm, Ryohei Abe is truly one of a kind. Whether he’s dazzling audiences with his quiz skills, making fans swoon with his azatoi antics, or delivering the latest weather forecast, he continues to prove that idols can be both brilliant and entertaining. His journey from a quiet student to a beloved STARTO idol and television personality is a testament to his dedication, and there is no doubt that he will continue to shine in every field he chooses to pursue.
Ren “Meme” Meguro | 目黒蓮

Often referred to affectionately as “Meme”, Ren Meguro is one of the most instantly recognizable faces in Snow Man, captivating audiences with his expressive acting, ethereal visuals, and effortlessly calming presence. Born on February 16, 1997, and represented by the color black, Meme carries a quiet strength that balances the group both on and off stage.
Although he’s best known as a heartthrob and the group’s acting ace, Meme is deeply introverted and refreshingly grounded—and sometimes adorably airheaded and might throw the wrong things in the trash.
Off-camera, he’s a soft-spoken, observant soul who enjoys stargazing, crayfishing, and spending time with his beloved dog, Moko-chan. These peaceful hobbies reflect his personality: calm, gentle, and sincere. Despite being one of the younger members, he often engages in playful pranks and laughter with the others, showing his warm and approachable side.
His sense of responsibility and quiet passion for his craft are well-respected among fans and industry peers. Whether he’s performing with Snow Man or working solo, Meme approaches each project with gratitude, always acknowledging the support staff around him. His ability to form genuine connections makes him beloved not only by fans, but by everyone he works with.
As an actor, Meme has carved out a prestigious niche for himself. From the adorably aloof Ida in “My Love Mix-Up!” (streaming on Viki) to the heartbreakingly tender So in “Silent” (streaming on Viki), he’s proven his range and sensitivity as a performer. His filmography also includes leading roles in “The Beginning of the Sea” (streaming on Viki) and “Trillion Game” (streaming on Netflix), where his compelling screen presence continues to leave a mark on Japanese drama history. In 2023, he was awarded Best Supporting Actor and New Actor of the Year at the Japan Academy Awards, further cementing his place as one of the industry’s brightest stars.
Beyond acting, Meme is also a sought-after model. Standing at an impressive 185cm with impeccable fashion sense, he became the first Japanese ambassador for the global FENDI campaign, regularly appearing at their international fashion events, notably at the recent Milano fashion week event. His appearance on magazine covers—such as FINE BOYS—frequently causes instant sell-outs and even website crashes—earning him the nickname “the man who crashes servers.”
Despite his cool exterior, Meme is famously airheaded when it comes to certain things, especially kanji. His occasional clueless answers on variety shows add a lovable charm to his already endearing character, often leaving both members and fans in stitches. Yet, it’s this very contrast—a mix of effortless elegance and unexpected innocence—that makes Meme so magnetic.
Meme’s online presence also reflects his thoughtful and open nature. He regularly updates his personal Instagram account to share news on his solo work, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and messages filled with introspection and gratitude, while his blog entries often reveal his emotions, showcasing his sincerity and emotional depth.
His solo song “Asa no Jikan” is a heartfelt piece designed to offer solace and encouragement to anyone struggling to move forward. In his message, he describes how he wanted to create a song that reassures listeners that it’s okay to have difficult mornings, to feel lost, and to not always be able to look ahead. His words, both in the lyrics and the accompanying music video, reflect his deep understanding of human emotions and his desire to stand beside those in need of comfort.
Meme’s ability to connect on a deeply human level is what makes this song so special. While he has risen to become a national icon, he remains grounded and relatable, offering a warmth that makes fans feel seen and understood. His simple yet impactful farewell in the message—“Good morning! Have a great day!”—serves as a beautiful reminder that no matter how difficult today may seem, tomorrow is another chance to move forward. With this song, he not only provides a safe space for reflection and healing but also proves that even the brightest stars can shine their light to guide others through the darkness.
Though known as Snow Man’s most famous face, Meme remains down-to-earth and authentic. Whether he’s teasing a fellow member, walking the runway in Milan, or pulling you into a world of emotions on screen, Ren Meguro continues to be a gentle but powerful force in Japan’s entertainment industry—and it’s clear his star will only keep rising.

Daisuke “Sakkun” Sakuma | 佐久間 大介

With his signature pink hair (except for the show the photos for this piece were taken) and electrifying smile, Daisuke Sakuma is one of the most instantly recognizable and beloved members of Snow Man.
Born on July 5, 1992, and standing at 168cm, he may be the shortest in the group, but his energy, passion, and skill make him a giant in spirit.
Known affectionately as Sakkun, Sakuma is a self-proclaimed anime otaku who proudly walks the path paved by his beloved senpai, Toshiya Miyata of Kis-My-Ft2. From wearing anime-themed clothes and underwear (which he once showed off on national TV) to lamenting how work keeps him from attending Comiket, his dedication is unshakable. His personal X account is a lively space where he shares his thoughts, anime musings, and passions with fans who appreciate his transparency and nerdy charm.
This carries over into his solo song “Mamoritai, Sono Egao”, and it is not just a personal statement—it’s a universal anthem for all fans. The song embodies the joy and mutual love shared between an idol and their supporters. Sakuma himself describes it as a song where the arrows of emotion point both ways—expressing both a fan’s love for their idol and the idol’s gratitude in return. This makes it a celebration of fandom culture, an uplifting track dedicated to every fan who has ever passionately supported someone they admire.
Fans have responded emotionally to this song, with many expressing how much Sakuma’s love for his supporters shines through. From the lyrics “Kimi no shiawase wo negatte yamanai yo” (I’ll never stop wishing for your happiness) to the energetic, joyous delivery, it’s clear that Sakuma wants his fans to know how much their presence means to him. The song resonates deeply with people from all walks of life—some have even shared how it gave them a renewed sense of purpose, while others admitted it was the push they needed to finally join the Snow Man fan club.
What makes this track stand out is Sakuma’s ability to balance playfulness with sincerity. Despite being known for his high-energy persona, this song showcases his depth—not just as a performer but as someone who deeply values the connections he has built with fans. The call-and-response sections have already become a rallying cry among listeners, with fans eagerly anticipating the chance to shout their love back to him at a live concert. Whether through his dynamic stage presence or his heartfelt lyrics, Sakuma has once again proven why he is an irreplaceable presence in Snow Man and in the hearts of his fans.
Trained in ballet from a young age, Sakuma is known as Snow Man’s strongest dancer and acrobat. His movements are fluid and precise, displaying a level of expression that can only come from years of hard work and emotional understanding. Whether performing a gravity-defying flip or delivering sleek choreography, his presence is magnetic.
Within Snow Man, Sakuma plays the role of the mood maker—much akin to the Energizer Bunny or Duracell Bunny. His high tension, endless chatter, and ability to jump into any conversation make him a constant source of energy. But behind the bubbly façade lies a disciplined professional who isn’t afraid to get strict with juniors when necessary. He is living proof that a cheerful idol can also be a dependable pillar of support.
Despite his animated personality, Sakuma has spoken openly about his introverted past—sickly, reserved, and hesitant to speak. It was through sheer willpower and his dream of becoming an idol that he transformed himself, embracing a more outgoing version of who he wanted to become. In his words, he faked it till he made it—and fans love him all the more for it.
His love for anime eventually evolved into a professional pursuit. He made his voice acting debut as Makusa North in Black Clover, followed by leading roles such as Xuan in White Snake and Hazama Michiru in CARDFIGHT!! VANGUARD. His expressive vocal range and natural charisma have earned him high praise, with even professional voice actors commending his talent. In 2025, he’s set to star in the highly anticipated reading play Fiend/Friend in 20faces, based on Edogawa Rampo’s classic mysteries.
In a complete twist from his usual roles, Sakuma showcased his acting range as Tomu Nagayama, a silent and eerie stalker in the 2024 suspense film Matched. The stark contrast to his real-life personality stunned fans and critics alike, revealing a new layer to his talents. This movie has also screened outside Japan, much to many international fans’ delgiht.
Outside of work, Sakuma is a proud cat dad to Tuna and Shachi, and he shares a special connection with his mother, Naomi Sakurai, a former idol herself. He’s also close friends with fellow 1992-born members Shota Watanabe and Tatsuya Fukazawa, forming the iconic 92z trio.
A staple of Snow Man’s performances, Sakuma’s signature pink hair first made waves during the “HELLO HELLO” era in 2021. It has since become a trademark, embodying his vibrant personality and playful charm, and he was appointed as the brand ambassador for the hair care brand &be HAIR. Whether he’s flipping across the stage or cracking a perfectly timed joke, his presence is unforgettable.
Even in the group’s toughest times, Sakuma never failed to smile, laugh, and support his teammates. His solo radio show 佐久間大介の待って、無理、しんどい… and his appearances in shows like NHK Minna no Shuwa allow fans to see his passion up close, especially when he’s talking about anime or spreading positivity.
From his crisp acrobatics and tender voice acting to his relentless cheer and unwavering love for all things otaku, Daisuke Sakuma is not only the heart of Snow Man—he’s proof that you can follow your dreams and stay true to who you are, sparkly pink hair, fan at heart, and all.
