True to form, SUPER EIGHT is celebrating the eighth year of the Reiwa era with a series of special projects leading up to the much-anticipated R8.8.8. From Eight Jam Fes and the release of their new single 「ダンダーラ」(Dandara) to various other projects, there has been plenty for Eighters to enjoy this summer.
One of these special projects is a special collaboration with Tower Records: the limited-time SUPER EIGHT Cafe: 真夏の超八喫茶 ～∞月のすべてをくだ祭!!!!!～ (Manatsu no Chō-Hachi Kissa ~Mugen-Gatsu no Subete wo Kudasai!!!!!~). With its theme of “SUPER EIGHT and Summer Festivals,” the café is a perfect combination of the group’s summer spirit, music, food, and, of course, plenty of EITO-related fan service.
I had the chance to visit both Osaka locations (the Umeda NU Chayamachi branch and the Osaka Station City branch), and each visit felt like stepping into a little SUPER EIGHT summer festival of its own.
As soon as you enter the café, you’re greeted by videos from SUPER EIGHT concerts featuring all five members. The walls are decorated with large posters of the members in Hawaiian shirts, posing with quintessential summer items such as shaved ice, a ukulele, and even beer. Even the tables are decorated with the event logo and with EITO’s ぬい (nui) characters. The whole space immediately sets the mood for a fun and slightly chaotic EITO-style summer.
After the staff checks your reservation and takes your order, each customer receives a special sticker featuring the café logo before being shown to their seat. From there, the fun begins.
The menu is filled with food inspired by Japanese summer festivals, with plenty of clever references to SUPER EIGHT songs and the members’ personalities. One of the highlights is キング オブ 男! 焼きそば (“King of Otoko!” Yakisoba), a playful reference to EITO’s song King of Otoko!.
Then there’s ブチ★ I GOT IT ピザ？ (Buchi★ I GOT IT Pizza?). The name is inspired by the pizza featured in their music video, but the question mark is important because what arrives isn’t actually a pizza in a pizza box. Instead, it’s an okonomiyaki, which feels like the perfect choice for these Kansai guys.
For dessert, there’s 無限大チュロス (Mugendai Churros), a churro shaped like the familiar ∞ symbol and served with berry sauce and whipped cream. It’s both cute and very on-theme.
For fans looking for something a little more grown-up, there’s also the ちょい八セット (Choi-Hachi Set), which comes with an ice-cold beer, edamame, and marinated octopus. For non-alcoholic options, the café offers mixed juice, oolong tea and iced coffee. Every drink order also comes with a special themed paper coaster, making even a simple drink feel like a little souvenir.
And then there’s the quintessential summer treat: shaved ice, which they called マジだぜ?君の八月の全てくれないか?かき氷 (Maji Daze? Kimi no Hachigatsu no Subete Kurenai ka? Kakigōri). The café offers different flavors corresponding to the members’ colors, and each order comes with a mini photo of the member associated with that color. It’s definitely one of those menu items that makes you want to order your favorite member even if you’re already full.
Of course, no collaboration café would be complete without exclusive merchandise. Fans can purchase a selection of SUPER EIGHT themed goods, including the 888 acrylic coaster collection featuring mini figures of the members that hang off the edge of your glass, the 超八！袋 (Chō-Hachi! Fukuro) drawstring pouch, “イケ面♡BOY” (Ikemen♡BOY) festival masks styled after the members’ nui characters and A5 clear files. One of my favorite touches was the dedicated photo area where fans can take pictures of their own SUPER EIGHT nui. It gives Eighters a chance to create their own little summer memories with the group.
Each session lasts 100 minutes, giving fans enough time to watch the videos, enjoy their food and drinks, take photos, shop for goods, or simply soak in the atmosphere.
Overall, the SUPER EIGHT Cafe is a really fun way for Eighters to celebrate the summer with SUPER EIGHT. From the song-inspired menu and colorful shaved ice to the concert footage, themed decorations, exclusive goods, and little details scattered throughout the café, there’s always something to discover.
It’s not just a place to grab a themed meal—it’s a small summer festival dedicated to SUPER EIGHT. For fans, spending 100 minutes there feels like a fun little celebration of everything that makes the group special: music, food, Kansai spirit, and most importantly, the connection between SUPER EIGHT and their Eighters.
