Kis-My-Ft2 just finished off their 2025 tour. MAGFACT was released on May 21st, and the tour with the same title has taken them to 8 different cities for a total of 24 shows. Today, we’re diving into a particularly special show, held at Yokohama Arena in August.

Kis-My-Ft2, often referred to as “Kisumai”, debuted in 2012 with the single “Everybody Go”. Originally a seven-member group, they went down to six members as Kitayama Hiromitsu left on August 31, 2023. They all specialize in different fields on top of their music jobs; Senga Kento does dance and art, Miyata Toshiya is a big anime enthusiast and voice actor, Yokoo Wataru showcases cooking and poetry skills on TV, Fujigaya Taisuke works in acting both on stage and on camera, Tamamori Yuta is an actor and fashion ambassador, and Nikaido Takashi does the staging and production for their shows. While the general public knows them for their presence in variety shows, their specialty as a group is rollerskates. They’ve been a constant element to their performances since their junior days, and although nowadays they use skates less for music videos and TV performances, their concerts always incorporate them.
Any concert day when Kis-My-Ft2 are on tour is exciting, but this day, August 10th, was special. Their 14th debut anniversary, the day that they took their first step into the 15th year since they got their hard-earned first CD release. The tension was high as the fans entered Yokohama Arena, glad to be able to spend the evening with their favorite group, and not only them. Fans from all around the world got to see a portion of the MC streamed live on YouTube, too!
The show started off with a video sequence showing the members walking down a runway to the beat of “CHEAT,” like in the music video available on YouTube. They were shown dressed in costumes worthy of a high-fashion runway show, a grand way to start off the concert.
Then, along with sparklers dropping down from the top of the stage, the members showed up on a platform slowly lowered down to the stage level. Surrounded by gold details and dressed in light mocha suits with black detailing and rhinestones to go with, they were looking just as luxurious as the atmosphere of the song. “Curtain Call,” a fan favorite from the past year, was a strong opener, showing off a properly grown-up Kisumai ready to swoop you off your feet.
The songs that followed showed no sign of slowing down. Both “FREEZE” and “Tonight” are songs with a rock beat and intense dancing, which they then took into “Luv Sick,” another popular song from many years ago. Kisumai know their fans, and nothing will get them fired up like a strong opening section with songs from their past discography. To top it off, they sang “Take Over,” a song that they revived last year, from their very first album, and as the members themselves have talked about, they were surprised to see the entire venue grooving like never before.
Next, the album overture was played, and after a costume change, the members came back out on the main stage with a large, full moon in the background. It was finally time for the first new song of the concert; “Glory Days.” Written by Kamikaze Boy from the band MAN WITH A MISSION, it has a pop-rock sound and an iconic “wolf dance” to pay homage to the band. As the members sang of fighting for their future, of not giving up, fans likely felt it echo within themselves as well.
Having moved down to the lower level of the main stage, the members got into position to sing “HEARTBREAKER,” their first song to be released with the current six-member lineup. In the previous years’ dome tour, it was performed on cranes, but this year they sang while dancing the full, quite intense choreography.
Another notable number, also from their new album, was “Half Baked.” The members took turns in pairs to take the stage, along with the professional back dancers they had worked with for this tour, and it was a delight to watch. Fujigaya starts it off while Miyata dances, then they switch, and it’s only the truth when you describe it as them just purely enjoying the music. Grooving, dancing, smiling, they were full of joy, and the theme continued on to the next pair. Nikaido sang his lines while Senga danced next to him, making eye contact here and there, then Senga picked up his lines, and they danced facing each other, with an embarrassed smile from Nikaido as Senga sang while looking straight into his eyes. It was cute, and surely the fans were swooning at seeing them enjoying themselves. Following them were Yokoo and finally Tamamori, and the group finished off the song together with their dancers, moving in a large circle around the center stage.

A highlight of the show was “Otsukaresama Desu! feat. Sandwichman,” from the MAGFACT album. Sandwichman is the popular comedian duo that hosts the TV show 10-man yen de dekiru kana together with Kisumai. Not only do they have lines in the song, but for this particular show, they made a surprise appearance!
They stayed for a quick talk session, revealing how Nikaido had scolded them for making mistakes during the rehearsal, pointing out that the fans are paying money to see this, and they can under no circumstances be lazy about their performance. Yokohama Arena was filled with laughter, and sure enough, Nikaido looked a little embarrassed to have had it pointed out just how serious he is in producing the show. As if the fans hadn’t laughed enough yet, Sandwichman performed one of their short skits before they left, thanking and congratulating the members on their 14th anniversary.
MAGFACT included a new member introduction song, called “Who’s gonna play”! Using this year’s SD card sold with the goods and the penlight’s special mode that reads it, the arena lit up in member colors to match the song. The performance was fun on its own, but Kisumai fans are a big part of completing the concerts, and this was a peak moment. Fans chanting the members’ names, dancing along with the choreography, the penlights lit up in sync (which, by the way, are not automatic or remotely controlled), giving the show that perfect sense of unity.
As previously mentioned, part of the MC was to be livestreamed, and all of a sudden Miyata asked the fans to switch their penlights to member colors in blocks. Tamamori joined in asking if he really wanted to do this a few minutes before the stream was to start, considering this hadn’t been planned or prepared for, receiving plenty of laughter from the fans, but Miyata was sure that the fans would be able to do it. Lo and behold, perhaps it’s not only the idols that are veterans; within seconds, the arena was beautifully lit up, each member’s color in clear blocks, and the livestream was ready to start.
To commemorate their 14th anniversary and their first steps into their 15th, they performed a brand-new song that was released digitally at midnight that same night. “A CHA CHA CHA,” a groovy song with flirty themes, was performed on their circular moving stage. This song was part of the livestream as well, so be sure to check it out!
Once back on the main stage, Miyata and Tamamori were sent off to go change ahead of the rest of the members while they finished the MC, leading into the next section of the concert. They appeared on the main stage dressed in matching but unusual costumes. Fully black with goth elements, Miyata in a collar and a hood with long rabbit ears, and Tamamori with glasses and a long devil-like tail, quite different from their regular concert looks. Together they sang their duet “SHINDO,” peppered with moments that made the fans shriek with excitement.
While the audience was catching their breath, Fujigaya and Senga appeared on the arena floor, walking towards the center stage with a camera pointed at them, while Yokoo was walking down the center walkway. The song they were singing was “Yummy, lovely night,” a somewhat silly song, and exciting for exactly that purpose. They wore lollipop-style rings on their fingers, incorporated into the choreography that they danced with completely straight faces, and their dancers joined them in the spectacle.
Now, you wonder, what happened to Nikaido? Does he not get to sing a duet? The answer is not quite, but for him, there was more prepared. Playing off the popular TV show Nika Game (soon to be running on TV as a weekly regular show), a video played on the screens showing Nikaido being given a word in English. His job was to guess how to pronounce it, just like the TV show, but for the concert version, the game was twisted a bit.

The other members come out on stage, and it was revealed that they will be the ones to guess what Nikaido guessed. The word given was “debut”, and the Kisumai members guessed he had read it “debuto”. It’s not difficult to imagine the laughter that broke out when Nikaido’s original answer was shown on the screens, reading “devitto”, but Nikaido took it well, laughing at his group members for not getting it right, then asking them to leave so he can sing his song.
Because yes, he did get to sing, and solo, at that. With a dance break together with the dancers, he sang the first bit of “Shake It Up,” changed to rollerskates, and was then joined by the rest of the group to skate down the length of the entire arena together.
We reached the final section of the concert, and Kisumai were still going strong. A powerful performance of the dance-wise intense songs “Meramera” and “FIGHTERS” wowed the fans. Particularly, “FIGHTERS” was impressive with its approximate 900 rounds of flames and fireworks being sent up around the members; trust Nikaido to not forget to put on a minor firework festival for their fans.
The arena was heating up in several ways as they progressed into an impressive mashup performed mainly from the moving stage, lifting them up in levels as they made their way through “Dancing Star,” “Girl is mine,” “HANDS UP,” and “Crystal Sky,” all with original choreography and high energy.

Then, for a brief moment, the members left the arena to make room for a laser show, soon followed by the beat of “CHEAT.” Penlights danced to the rhythm, and one by one, the members appeared on stage in the gaudy costumes from the opening video. Senga in a white and sparkly suit with wing-like sleeves and nothing underneath the jacket, Miyata in a large blue leather jacket with straps and folds giving it a heavy look, Yokoo in a long coat with a beautiful purple pattern, Fujigaya in a coat with cut-out panels showing off the vest jacket he wore on the inside and an additional long white train in the back, Tamamori himself in a fully red costume with a draped jacket as the center piece, and Nikaido in a large green jacket with 3D flowers all over it. To put it shortly, they looked high fashion runway ready, and a runway show is exactly what they put on.
With lights along the side of the center walkway pointing straight upward, the illusion was complete as the group walked down towards the center of the arena together. The repetitive lyrics and the heavy beat were an impactful way to end the concert, which they did with a final strut one by one before leaving the stage.
Credits were rolling, but fans weren’t about to leave just yet, and very well, soon Kis-My-Ft2 came back out in tour T-shirts and personal accessories, ready to perform a few more songs while greeting the fans before it was truly time to say goodbye. Holding hands, Miyata asked the fans to join them in calling their group name, with the biggest voices they’ve let out all day, and of course, nobody was there to disappoint. With Miyata speaking the leading words, both fans and members filled in the last word with big smiles on their faces.
