Naniwa Danshi’s BON BON VOYAGE tour across Japan, which began in Niigata on July 19th, wrapped up in Nagoya on November 3rd, covering 43 performances across 9 cities.
The tour is tied to the release of their 4th album of the same name, which came out earlier this year on July 2nd, and I was lucky to attend the concert on “Naniwa Day” (7/28) at Yokohama Arena. It’s a special day for Nanifam, and after having their debut announced at Yokohama Arena 5 years ago, I was wondering if another announcement would be made during the concert, as the group had previously announced they’d do a YouTube livestream during the MC.
While wondering about the upcoming announcement, I settled into my seat for the concert and took in the atmosphere of the venue. Naniwa Danshi really said “BON BON VOYAGE” and took us all along for the ride: this year, we were at sea, coming off from last year’s space-themed concert. I could feel the sense of adventure from this year’s theme, and because it’s Naniwa, they didn’t just give us a theme; they also went all-in with a production that had me admiring the details throughout the show.
The concert started with all of them suspended in cages above the stage in dramatic black outfits, kicking things off with a dark remix of “The Answer.” It was moody, intense, and totally different from their usual sparkly idol vibe, and when Daigo let out that Joker-like laugh during “Circus Night,” my jaw may have dropped open, and I also got full-body chills. But as quickly as they opened with the intense atmosphere, they switched gears with “Seven Stars 2025” and “Yuuki 100%” which were more reminiscent of their original idol image. I really enjoyed seeing the boys being able to seamlessly transition between both, as it showed off their versatility and skill, which they’ve honed over the past 4 years.
Also, another treat for this concert was the fact that Naniwa Danshi flew throughout this concert! They were flying in the air on 4 separate occasions throughout this concert using various methods, but each was a breathtaking sight to behold. During “Over The Horizon!” and “Koisuru Hikari,” they were soaring above the stage like they had actual wings. “Thrill Drive” had them zipping around in this hangar-style setup, “Seven seas” and “H.E.L.L.O.” had them spinning in perfect circles, and for “Sachiare” they were literally cycling through the air. I swear, each new flying stunt was more impressive than the last!
And of course, no Naniwa show is complete without fashion. Once again, our king of costumes, Kento, handled the designs for the group and back dancers. Each costume was impeccably designed to match the concert vibes, and I can say that this concert was truly captivating on both an auditory and visual level.
Another thing that I also love about Naniwa concerts is that they have the most entertaining video intermissions, and this concert did not disappoint either. This time, the theme was “Naniwa Prime+,” a parody streaming service, and it led into the “College Crush” segment, where they lived out their best American campus drama lives. The boys rolled out in a Mini Cooper (yes, on stage!) to perform “The Greatest Voyage,” while also dressed the part in adorable plaid outfits.
There were also so many fun member interactions here, especially with JoHashi 💙💚, who were hugging whenever they were near each other. I may or may not have died each time from the adorableness 🤭 “Doki It” was another super fun performance that had Daigo improving some choreo during the song, and it was just so fun watching the boys having a good time on stage.
From here, they went into the MC corner and also the beginning of the YouTube livestream for fans who weren’t able to attend the show. It was a nice touch that allowed Nanifam to celebrate Naniwa Day with the boys. The first announcement the boys revealed was the release of their brand-new double A-side single, “Asymmetry / Black Nightmare” (out September 3).
Both songs are drama tie-ins: Hassun’s Revenge Spy and Jo-kun’s Laundering. We got previews of both live, and I already knew I was a fan of both. Also, the fact that it’s a JoHashi double-A single made it even better! Nanifam also seemed to think the same too because they cleared out the stock in stores on furage and opening week!
But they weren’t done with the announcements there! After the dimming of the lights, the main screen began to play a video that showed the members in a certain place… as more details were revealed, it was clear that they were standing in Tokyo Dome. This marked the announcement of their first-ever dome concerts 🎉
They will perform two days at Tokyo Dome and five nights at Kyocera Dome Osaka in 2026. Cue the tears 😭😭😭. Jo-kun was so happy that he shed happy tears, which is totally understandable because while Dome concerts are a big milestone for any artist, Jo-kun is also a HUGE baseball fan. Daigo then joined in on the waterworks, and of course, the other members teased the two of them. It was an amazing moment and one that is memorialised in the YouTube livestream which you can still watch!
After the flurry of excitement around the announcements, the boys kicked back into gear for the latter half of the concert. Here we got the return of the fan-favorite unit songs but with new combos: Ryusei and Kento slayed with “TOYSTYLE,” Daigo + Jo + Hassun brought the heat with “Adulty,” and Micchi + Kyohei had us swooning with “Devil or Angel.” Every pairing felt fresh and fun, and honestly, I love how they keep reinventing this part of the show. The costuming was also on point for each, keeping the same looks from the MVs!
For the finale, the stage transformed into a glowing seascape for a “Seven Seas Medley,” leading into fan faves like “Diamond Smile.” The ending was just pure joy–beautiful visuals in their mermaid-inspired blue suits, and the whole arena waving their penlights. It really felt like the perfect end to a magical journey.
All in all, I had a blast at the concert, and I was extremely impressed by the level of thought and production that went into this year’s concert. They just keep outdoing themselves! They’ve found this sweet spot of pushing the boundaries of production and concept while still keeping that playful, boyish charm from their debut days. BON BON VOYAGE is more than just a tour—it’s proof that these seven are growing, dreaming bigger, and taking all of us along with them. And honestly, I can’t wait to see where this voyage goes next! ❤️🧡💗💜💛💙💚
