SixTONES have announced that their 18th single, “Dance Forever / My Only” (Dance Forever / マイオンリー), will be released as a double A-side single on September 9. Marking their second single of the year, the release comes as the group celebrate the sixth anniversary of their CD debut.
“Dance Forever / My Only” will be available in three formats: Limited Edition A, Limited Edition B, and Regular Edition.
The Limited Edition A and Limited Edition B CDs each include the two title tracks, along with newly rearranged versions of SixTONES‘ previous singles, “Ichibyo” and “Rebellion.”
The Limited Edition A DVD features the “Dance Forever” music video, along with a behind-the-scenes documentary chronicling the four-day filming process in Croatia. Meanwhile, the Limited Edition B DVD includes the “My Only” music video and its dance performance version, and a making-of feature capturing the production of the music video.
In addition to the two title tracks, the Regular Edition contains two brand-new songs: “Play the Game” and “Beyond the Line.”
“Dance Forever” is an upbeat, quintessentially SixTONES anthem that captures the exhilaration of living in the moment with an infectious sense of freedom. Filmed on location in Croatia, the music video unfolds as a road movie, showcasing the country’s breathtaking coastal scenery alongside the vibrant atmosphere of its local nightlife. The six members are seen exploring the city, relaxing aboard a boat, playing basketball, and immersing themselves in a lively club scene, creating a carefree visual journey that mirrors the song’s uplifting message. Rather than focusing solely on choreography, the footage highlights the members’ natural chemistry and candid moments, capturing the joy of living in the “now” and embracing every second together.
Meanwhile, “My Only,” the theme song for Nippon TV’s Saturday drama “Confession: The Secret After 25 Years” starring Hokuto Matsumura, is a heartfelt love ballad that expresses unwavering devotion and the determination to keep loving one person wholeheartedly.
Also filmed in Croatia, the music video adopts a cinematic, story-driven approach that complements the song’s heartfelt message. Set against the backdrop of quiet streets, pedestrian bridges, neighborhood shops, and the country’s picturesque urban scenery, the video follows the six members through a series of intimate and reflective moments. Rather than relying on elaborate choreography, the production focuses on subtle performances, expressive cinematography, and emotional storytelling, emphasizing the composition’s theme of unwavering love and devotion. The understated visuals and warm color palette create a nostalgic atmosphere that perfectly mirrors the tender, sincere nature of the melody.
