Travis Japan: We are Unique Tigers

If there’s one thing Travis Japan does best, it’s movement—not just in dance, but in ambition, adaptability, and the drive to push beyond limits.

This seven-member group has spent years perfecting their craft, starting as dedicated dancers within STARTO ENTERTAINMENT and evolving into the agency’s first globally debuted idol group. With roots shaped by legendary choreographer Travis Payne, the group carries a legacy of dance excellence while forging their own path in the international music scene.

For those unfamiliar, Travis Japan—Kaito “Chaka” Miyachika, Kaito “Umi” Nakamura, Ryuya “Shime” Shimekake, Noel Kawashima, Shizuya “Shizu” Yoshizawa, Genta Matsuda, and Kaito “Machu” Matsukura—isn’t just another idol group. They’re a high-energy performance powerhouse, blending sharp synchronization, genre-spanning choreography, and genuine stage charisma. Travis Japan elevates their dancing abilities to an art form, setting themselves apart with their ability to captivate audiences through movement.

But their journey hasn’t been a straightforward rise to success. Unlike most Japanese idol groups, who debut domestically and establish their careers in Japan first, Travis Japan made the bold decision as a group to leave their home country and train abroad despite their growing popularity and success at the time.

So, in March 2022, they relocated to Los Angeles, fully immersing themselves in intensive training while taking on new challenges—adapting to an unfamiliar culture, refining their artistry, and expanding their global perspective—all while staying true to their roots as idols.

This meant the group ultimately put all their Japanese activities on hold for the unforeseeable future, and while it caused some concern among fans, it was also an exciting journey that no one else had taken before. Their activities online through social media such as Instagram and YouTube continued as they were abroad, letting fans see a glimpse of this extraordinary journey they took.

During their time in LA, a big highlight was when they took on America’s Got Talent (AGT) 2022, where they won over international audiences with their infectious energy and synchronized moves. Though they didn’t win the competition, what they did gain was far more valuable—global recognition and a rapidly growing fanbase outside Japan.

Not to mention, their participation in WORLD OF DANCE also took the world by storm as the group claimed a 3rd Place in Orange County Team Division, 4th Place in USA Team Division / Best Costume Award, 9th Place in World Team Division / Crowd Favorite Award, and 14th Place in WORLD FINAL / Crowd Favorite Award during WORLD OF DANCE 2022.

Their journey through WORLD OF DANCE and AGT caught the attention of Capitol Records and UMG, leading to their official global signing.

On October 28, 2022, Travis Japan made their mark on history by officially debuting globally, an unprecedented move for a group from their agency—a first of their kind. Their debut single, “JUST DANCE!”, was a major hit, earning over 10 million views on its music video and landing at No.5 on the Billboard Global Chart (excluding the US)—a first for a Japanese debut single.

Now, as part of Capitol Records (US) and Universal Music Japan, Travis Japan has firmly positioned themselves as Japan’s bridge to the world. They have not only continuously released bilingual versions of their songs but have also gone on to perform in numerous international locations, solidifying their place as a truly growing global act.

If there’s one thing Travis Japan has consistently proven ever since their Junior days, it’s that dance is their strongest weapon. Their precise synchronization, effortless formations, and ability to adapt to various styles have made them one of the most technically skilled dance units to emerge from the agency. But their journey to refining their craft didn’t stop at Japan—it expanded to global platforms, competitive stages, and innovative digital projects that showcased their unique artistry.

One of the most exciting projects in Travis Japan’s pre-debut era was +81 DANCE STUDIO—an initiative that allowed them to push creative boundaries while honoring the legacy of senior groups before them.

Through +81 (a fun call to Japan’s land code, but the logo also cleverly displays ‘TJ’), Travis Japan crafted original choreography for iconic STARTO songs along with famous choreographers, reinterpreting them with their own stylistic approach and technical precision.

Each performance video was a tribute and call back to the agency’s dance legacy, yet distinctly Travis Japan—showcasing their flair for intricate footwork, dynamic transitions, and expressive movement.

But what made +81 special wasn’t just the choreography; it was the artistic storytelling. The camera work, styling, and performance intensity elevated each piece into something more than a dance video—it was a visual experience. Whether reimagining classics or exploring new interpretations, Travis Japan proved that they weren’t just performers following steps—they were choreographic artists crafting a vision.

+81 DANCE STUDIO quickly became a fan-favorite project, not only giving audiences a deeper appreciation for Travis Japan’s dance skills but also cementing them as one of the most innovative groups within STARTO.

Their performances aren’t just about precise moves; they are about storytelling, energy, and the ability to connect with fans through movement. Their signature style blends modern, jazz, and hip-hop elements, making their dance routines both intricate and exhilarating.

These are just a few selected events out of many that Travis Japan has done in their years together—before and after debut. With tigers as their representing motif—based on the Japanese writing of TraJa;トラジャ, where tora;トラ means tiger—Travis Japan has earned their stripes.

So, who are the seven individuals that make up this dynamic group? With three out of seven members named Kaito, it’s not easy to figure out who’s who in the beginning. Each member brings something special to the team.

Let’s take a closer look at the unique tigers and their personalities and talents that define Travis Japan and make them such an unforgettable force in the world of entertainment.

Kaito “Chaka” Miyachika | 宮近海斗

Kaito “Chaka” Miyachika isn’t just the Leader Tiger of Travis Japan—he’s the group’s unwavering sun, radiating warmth, energy, and charisma in every performance. With his effortless charm, sharp wit, and magnetic stage presence, Chaka, as he’s affectionately called, is both the backbone and heartbeat of the group, seamlessly blending playfulness with responsibility to ensure Travis Japan always shines at its brightest.

In 2010, at the age of 13, Chaka officially joined the agency, unknowingly stepping into the first chapter of his extraordinary journey that would eventually lead him to this stage today.

A born entertainer, Chaka‘s presence on stage is electrifying. The moment he steps on stage, his aura changes, and it’s undeniably one of the strongest presences in his generation.

Every moment on stage with him feels unforgettable, and you momentarily forget that behind the cool and intense exterior lies just a goofy little guy with a heart of gold.

While he’s known for being one of the group’s mood-makers, he’s also its steady foundation. His leadership isn’t about commanding attention—it’s about lifting his members up, ensuring they feel seen, valued, and supported.

He teases his members but always balances it with genuine affection, and his humor keeps spirits high, even during exhausting rehearsals. At the same time, he keeps a close eye on the group’s performance, fine-tuning every detail, especially as one of the group’s choreographers.

His members trust him wholeheartedly, knowing that beneath his playful antics lies an unshakable commitment to their success.

Chaka’s skills as a dancer are nothing short of breathtaking. His body control, musicality, and ability to make each move feel effortlessly natural set him apart as one of the strongest dancers currently in the agency. His wide range of motion creates dynamic and unpredictable movements, while his sharp musicality allows him to match the beat with uncanny precision.

His expressive performances add layers of storytelling to each routine. His role as Travis Japan’s center is well-earned—watching him dance, it’s impossible to look away. Whether executing high-energy choreography or delivering a slow, emotional piece, his presence dominates the stage.

All these qualities are some of the charms that draw fans into the world of Chaka.

On top of his dance skills, his vocals have immensely improved over the years, also proving his place as one of the leading vocals in the group, often taking on the higher notes along with member Noel.

His personal TikTok account serves as a space for him to showcase his dance outside of group performances. It allows him to curate his own style, sharing his love for movement in ways that feel fresh, personal, and exciting for fans.

Aside from his captivating dancing and vibrant presence in Travis Japan, Chaka is also passionately carving out a name for himself in the acting world. In recent years, he has dazzled audiences with his remarkable performances in Tokuso 9, RISKY (2021), Omukae Shibuya-kun (2024), and the thrilling, currently airing Honno Switch (2025). Adding to the excitement, Travis Japan’sSay I Doperfectly captures the essence as the theme song for Honno Switch, elevating the experience even further.

He’s also a close friend of SixTONES’ Taiga Kyomoto whom he co-starred with in Omukae Shibuya-kun, and along with Shime and Machu, he’s a part of the Kyomoto-kai.

Despite his unmatched energy and larger-than-life presence, Chaka’s warmth is what truly endears him to fans. He values connection, not just with his members but with the audience that supports them. His fan service is legendary—whether it’s scanning the crowd to make eye contact or responding to fan signs with the perfect reaction, he has an innate ability to make every fan feel seen.

Chaka isn’t just a performer—he’s a force. A leader, a dancer, a comedian, and above all, the heart of Travis Japan. His ability to weave between roles so seamlessly makes him one of the most compelling figures in the industry today.

He is a high-caliber dancer with mesmerizing precision, a natural entertainer who balances humor and artistry, a warm-hearted leader who uplifts his members, a dedicated performer who constantly evolves his craft who never forgets the people supporting him.

With his radiant energy, unstoppable drive, and magnetic charm, it’s impossible not to be drawn into his orbit. Before you even realize it, Chaka has already captured your heart.

Kaito “Umi” Nakamura | 中村海人

Kaito UmiNakamura is the embodiment of effortless cool, exuding a laid-back charm that contrasts with his sharp and precise dance style. As one of the most visually striking members of Travis Japan, his smooth movements and natural elegance make him impossible to ignore on stage. But beneath his stylish and composed exterior lies a playful and unexpectedly quirky personality that adds a fascinating layer to his appeal.

At first glance, Umi comes across as the cool and fashionable type, known for his refined sense of style and unique presence. His hair and fashion choices always seem to be ahead of the curve, making him a trendsetter within the group. His movements on stage reflect the same effortless grace—each step precise, fluid, and mesmerizing.

Yet, beyond this stylish and polished image, he is full of delightful contradictions. He is a self-proclaimed anime and gaming enthusiast (and a regular member of After School GAMING LIFE), often geeking out over his favorite series or staying up late playing video games. His playful banter with his group members and his slightly mischievous streak only add to his charm, making him feel approachable despite his model-like aura.

His journey to joining the agency was far from conventional. Inspired by the drama My Boss My Hero and drawn to the entertainment industry by Tomoya Nagase’s charismatic performance, Umi auditioned twice before securing his place. His persistence paid off, and in 2010, he officially joined the agency, embarking on the path that would lead him to Travis Japan.

Though he carries himself with an air of cool composure, Umi has a softer side that fans adore. As the resident Pet Tiger—despite his stylish and confident appearance—he often seeks comfort from his fellow members, leaning on them both physically and emotionally. His moments of affection, especially with members like Chaka and Shime, never fail to make fans’ hearts melt. He has a way of balancing being the group’s resident teaser and an endearing, affectionate presence, always ensuring his bonds with the group remain strong.

As a dancer, his style is strikingly elegant. His movements have a natural fluidity that makes each step and gesture feel intentional and expressive. He has a keen sense of musicality, using his entire body—including his fingertips—to convey emotions. His versatility in dance allows him to switch between styles seamlessly, from sharp and precise choreography to slower, more sultry routines that highlight his control and stage presence. Fans often describe him as “hypnotic” when he performs, as his ability to command attention is truly mesmerizing.

In addition to his achievements on stage, Umi has been curating a stunning visual presence on his personal Instagram. His account serves as a carefully crafted portfolio, revealing a side of him that fans excitedly wait to see more of.

Through moody, cinematic photography, high-fashion aesthetics, and striking model-like poses, he presents himself in a way that is both sophisticated and deeply artistic. His Instagram has become a testament to his growing versatility—not just as an idol but as a true VIIsual icon in the entertainment industry.

Beyond dance, Umi has been proving himself in other areas as well. As their resident idea-man, he played a key role in producing Travis Japan’s second album, VIIsual, a project that deeply resonated with both members and fans. The album’s title incorporates the Roman numeral “VII” (7), symbolizing the miracle of the seven members coming together as one.

His vision ensured that each member’s individuality was showcased while reinforcing their unity as a group. Through his creative direction, he helped craft an album that feels personal and reflective of Travis Japan’s journey, strengthening their connection with their audience.

One of the most talked-about moments of Travis Japan’s 2024 tour Road to Authenticity was his, Shizu’s, and Shime’s performance of “Paranoia,” a piece that pushed the group into new artistic territory. With its dark, intense atmosphere and intricate choreography, “Paranoia” stood out as an extraordinary experience.

Umi played a crucial role in producing and executing the performance with breathtaking precision, his expressive movements adding layers of depth to the routine. It truly highlighted the strengths and talents of the three of them.

The performance was widely praised by fans, many calling it one of the most unforgettable in Travis Japan’s history. It marked a turning point, showcasing the group’s ability to tackle more mature and dramatic themes with excellence.

Umi’s appeal lies in his gap. He is a refined, fashion-forward performer with the ability to command a stage, yet at the same time, he is an endearing and relatable figure who gushes over anime, teases his fellow members, and isn’t afraid to show his affectionate side, just like a pet. And sometimes, he appears completely golden.

His effortless dance style, stunning visuals, and creative contributions to Travis Japan make him a vital part of the group. He is the cool, stylish enigma that fans can’t help but be drawn to—once you notice Umi, it’s impossible to look away.

Ryuya “Shime” Shimekake | 七五三掛龍也

Ryuya Shimekake, affectionately known as Shime, is the embodiment of elegance and charm in Travis Japan. With his angelic visuals and graceful dance style, he seems like a prince straight out of a fairy tale—earning the Sweet Tiger name with grace. His delicate yet controlled movements and ability to captivate an audience with the subtlest gestures make him one of the group’s most mesmerizing performers. Whether he’s delivering an alluring performance or flashing his endearing smile, his presence is magnetic, drawing fans deeper into his world.

From the moment he joined the agency in 2009, Shime’s refined aura set him apart. Originally inspired by his mother, a fan of KATTUN, he entered the industry with admiration for the members. “The first live concert I ever went to was KAT-TUN’s pre-debut show,he shared with Dumpling Box, his tone filled with admiration for the group that marked the beginning of his journey into the world of live performances.

While he’s often seen as the group’s “sweet prince,” beneath that gentle image lies a competitive and fiercely dedicated performer. His dance style is both elegant and precise, with every movement carefully executed to enhance the group’s performance. He is known for his attention to detail, always striving for perfection—his tendency for being a little airheaded only adds to the charm. His ability to express emotions through dance is unparalleled, creating a mesmerizing experience for audiences.

As one of the group’s key choreographers, he has played an essential role in shaping Travis Japan’s signature style, contributing to performances such as “Entertainment,” “Wait for You,” and “Bring Back.” His artistic input not only refines their routines but also ensures that every performance leaves a lasting impression.

Despite his delicate image, Shime has a strong sense of personal style that blends sophistication with effortless cool. His love for fashion is evident in his well-coordinated outfits, always appearing put-together, yet never overdone. He seamlessly transitions between soft, dreamy aesthetics and bold, striking looks, making him one of the most visually versatile members of the group. Fans often look to him for fashion inspiration, admiring his ability to exude both elegance and approachability.

Beyond his polished exterior, Shime has a playful, slightly mischievous side that endears him even more to fans. His interactions with the members are filled with warmth and humor, often teasing or playfully engaging with them in ways that highlight his affectionate personality. (Nowadays, he usually lets the members touch his hair at least, compared to before when it was taboo.)

While his adorable moments and effortless charm steal hearts, his ability to shift into a cooler, more intense mode on stage is equally captivating, especially when he turns on his switch and performs songs such as his beloved senior Taisuke Fujigaya’s “Toxxxic.” His deeper, unexpectedly rich voice contrasts with his soft appearance, adding another layer to his enigmatic charm.

Shime’s growth as an entertainer extends beyond music and dance. His involvement in acting has added yet another facet to his career, allowing him to bring his emotive expressiveness to the screen. His role in The Reason We Fall In Love (2024) (streaming on Viki) was eagerly anticipated, where he showcased a new depth to his storytelling abilities.

Adding to his theatrical journey, Shime was cast in the musical adaptation of Dublin no Kane Tsuki Kabi Ningen (Moldman the Bellringer in DUBLIN), alongside fellow member Shizuya Yoshizawa. This role marked another milestone in his artistic career, further proving his versatility as a performer.

On September 29th, Shime joined the digital stage, opening his own solo Instagram account. As the Sweet Tiger sets out to showcase his individuality, fans eagerly anticipate the creative and stylish content he will share.

His spontaneous, sometimes hilariously unexpected remarks in interviews and variety shows have become legendary among fans. His carefree yet sincere approach to life, combined with his ability to surprise with deep insights, keeps his fans entertained and constantly engaged.

Shimekake Ryuya is the perfect blend of grace and complexity. He is Travis Japan’s soft yet strong presence, a performer who balances beauty with precision, playfulness with sophistication. His evolution from a fresh-faced Junior to a seasoned artist reflects his resilience and dedication, showcasing the many layers of his artistic journey.

As he navigates the challenging world of performance, he embraces each opportunity to grow and learn, continually refining his craft. Whether he’s charming with his signature smile, captivating with his expressive dance, or making fans laugh with his unpredictable humor, one thing is certain—his charisma shines through in every moment, leaving more than just a Sweet taste.

Noel kawashima | 川島如恵留

Noel Kawashima is Travis Japan’s resident intellectual—their very own Brain Tiger—as well one of the most academically educated members of the agency. With his bilingual abilities, extensive education, and passion for learning, he is widely regarded as the “brains of the group,” not just among members but also among peers.

From a young age, Noel displayed a relentless drive for knowledge and self-improvement. Before joining the agency, he was a child actor and performer, appearing in musical theater, including The Lion King, which first sparked his love for the stage. Entering the agency in 2007, his journey was anything but conventional. His years of dedication saw him refining his skills in dance, singing, acrobatics, and foreign languages, all while pursuing higher education.

He attended Aoyama Gakuin University, graduating with an impressive academic record. Fluent in English, he also holds qualifications such as a real estate transaction license and continues to take on new learning challenges, including sign language and travel management certifications.

Noel’s brilliance isn’t confined to academics—his physical abilities are just as impressive. As Travis Japan’s acrobatic specialist, he performs breathtaking flips and aerial stunts that add excitement to the group’s choreography, often when you least expect it. His background in ballet has given him a refined sense of movement, making his acrobatics not just powerful but also visually stunning.

His ability to execute intricate tricks with perfect form has made him an essential pillar in the group’s performance style, and many fans look forward to seeing if they have incorporated a backflip into the choreography. He approaches every move with precision, ensuring that each trick seamlessly integrates into their high-energy routines.

These skills allow his sharp technique and aerial skills to elevate Travis Japan’s performances to—literally—new heights. His meticulous approach to learning and perfecting routines ensures that the group maintains its signature precision, both technically and artistically.

Beyond the stage, Noel naturally assumes the role of spokesperson, representing Travis Japan in interviews and international promotions. His eloquence and thoughtfulness make him an ideal communicator, whether discussing the group’s artistic vision or sharing insights about their journey. During their time in Los Angeles in 2022, Noel’s fluency in English helped the group navigate their overseas experiences, making connections with international industry professionals and audiences.

His role as the main communicator when they’re abroad has significantly lessened over the years—not as a result of him slacking off—but as a result of the other group members shouldering a part of the pressure, allowing him to hand the reins to the others.

Adding to his ever-expanding repertoire, Noel has also ventured into solo projects that highlight his intellectual and creative side. He launched his YouTube channel, Noel’s Spare Time (Noeru no Sukima Jikan), where he shares insightful content ranging from discussions on personal growth to deep dives into topics like MBTI personality tests.

His channel reflects his love for learning and engaging with fans on a more personal level, providing a rare glimpse into his thought processes and daily curiosities. Fans affectionately refer to his blog posts as “essays” due to their length and depth—an endearing nod to his analytical and expressive nature.

On his 30th birthday, Noel took another major step in his artistic journey with the release of his first book, Idol no Filter (The Idol’s Filter). This essay collection is a deeply personal reflection on his experiences, offering fans a unique perspective on life through the eyes of an idol.

The book promises to explore his thoughts on creativity, the entertainment industry, and the profound moments that have shaped him, including his time studying abroad in Los Angeles. With his signature eloquence, Noel invites readers into his world, creating an intimate connection between artist and audience.

His presence in the entertainment industry is expanding even further, with major acting roles on the horizon. Noel was cast as a lead in the upcoming musical A BETTER TOMORROW – Otoko-tachi no Banka, co-starring fellow Travis Japan member Kaito Matsukura. He is also set to star in Kiss de Fusaide, Barenaide (2025), a highly anticipated drama that marks a new milestone in his career. Additionally, he will make his anime voice-acting debut as Kai Kasai in Tasūketsu-Fate of the Majority while Travis Japan performs the anime’s opening theme song, “Fly Higher.” His ability to transition seamlessly between different artistic mediums is a testament to his versatility and relentless pursuit of excellence.

Despite his many achievements, Noel remains deeply grounded and committed to his role within Travis Japan, and it’s clear that he loves the members and group dearly. He is not just the intellectual anchor of the group but also a warm and supportive presence among his members (sometimes a teacher, sometimes a mother parent). His ability to balance leadership, artistry, and personal ambition makes him an inspiring figure, both within the industry and to the fans who admire him.

Noel Kawashima is more than just the “brains” of Travis Japan—he’s a respected parent and teacher within the group, too (fellow member Genta relies on him to teach him proper Japanese). He is a multifaceted artist, a visionary, and an international ambassador for the group.

Whether he’s dazzling with his acrobatics, delivering a thought-provoking speech, or writing his next essay, he continues to leave an indelible mark on those who follow his journey. His intelligence, discipline, and artistic passion make him an irreplaceable part of Travis Japan.

Shizuya “Shizu” Yoshizawa | 吉澤閑也

Shizuya “Shizu” Yoshizawa is Travis Japan’s hidden genius—a choreographer, dancer, and entertainer all in one. Often called the group’s creative engine, he has contributed to several of their original routines, helping define their unique style. With his sharp musicality and natural sense of rhythm, his choreography seamlessly blends storytelling with dynamic movement, creating performances that captivate audiences.

Though he carries a laid-back, easygoing persona when not hyping up the room with gags, Shizu’s dance style is anything but relaxed. His powerful, grounded movements add a distinct contrast to the group’s more fluid and elegant dancers, giving Travis Japan’s performances a sense of depth and balance. His ability to analyze a song’s structure and craft routines that amplify its energy makes him an invaluable asset, shaping the group’s evolving identity as performers.

Outside of dance, Shizu brings warmth and humor to the group. He has a sharp comedic instinct, often taking on the role of the playful troublemaker who keeps things lively—much to his Comedy Tiger name.

His witty banter and well-timed reactions make him a standout in variety shows and interviews, effortlessly entertaining both his members and the audience. Yet beneath the jokes, he has an unshakable reliability, acting as a steady pillar of support for the group. His perceptiveness allows him to read the room, knowing exactly when to break tension with humor and when to step up as the mature figure who guides the team forward.

But what makes Shizu truly special is his journey. Unlike many of his peers, he entered the agency with no formal dance training. Everything he has achieved—his strength as a performer, his confidence as a choreographer, and his unmistakable presence on stage—was built from years of dedication and hard work. He transformed from a beginner into one of Travis Japan’s defining creative forces, proving that passion and persistence can turn a dream into reality.

His evolution extends beyond dance. Once known for his softer physique, Shizuya took it upon himself to reshape his body, undergoing a transformation that showcased his discipline and self-motivation. Among fans, it’s been known as the “boyfriend glow-up,” as many have started to notice the change. His dedication to self-improvement is inspiring, not just to fans but also to his fellow members, who admire his perseverance. Throughout the years, he’s been teased by the fellow members for his “lame” fashion sense and usually relied on help from Shime or others to style himself, but those days are gone.

Theatrically, he was cast in the musical adaptation of Dublin no Kane Tsuki Kabi Ningen (Moldman the Bellringer in DUBLIN), alongside fellow member Shime. Just like Shime, this role marked another milestone in his career, showing that he’s more than just the funny guy. He also made a guest appearance in Shime’s drama The Reason We Fall In Love (2024) and has a supporting role in Hell for You (2025) (streaming on Netflix).

At his core, Shizu is someone who makes every space he enters feel lighter. He ensures that while Travis Japan works hard, they never forget to have fun along the way. His mix of raw talent, comedic brilliance, and heartfelt sincerity makes him an irreplaceable presence in the group. He’s like the sun, a sunflower, and warmth itself.

Whether he’s creating breathtaking choreography, making the members burst into laughter, or crafting the perfect meal, Shizu continues to be the heartbeat of Travis Japan—a true artist, a true entertainer, and a true source of joy for those who follow him. He is the sun, and everyone just basks in his comforting and shining prescence.

Genta Matsuda | 松田元太

Genta Matsuda is Travis Japan’s natural entertainer, brimming with unfiltered energy, charisma, and charm. His presence on stage is magnetic—radiating a fearless enthusiasm that makes every performance feel electric. Whether dancing, singing, or simply flashing a playful grin, he commands attention with an effortless blend of confidence and spontaneity.

Genta thrives in live performances, where his infectious excitement spreads to both his members and the audience, making him one of the group’s most captivating performers.

His expressive dance style is packed with emotion, bringing a heightened intensity to every move. Genta doesn’t just perform a routine—he tells a story with his body, making each performance feel uniquely his own. His flirtatious stage presence—living up to his Sexy Tiger name—and unpredictable energy create an undeniable allure, earning him a reputation as Travis Japan’s most playful and daring performer.

But beyond the stage, Genta is equally charismatic. He’s the group’s mischievous younger brother, always keeping things exciting with his spontaneous humor and affectionate nature. He wears his emotions on his sleeve—whether teasing his members, showering them with compliments, or throwing himself into a joke without hesitation.

What you see is what you get with Genta, and that’s exactly what makes him so exceptionally charming and stupidly attractive.

His energy is unpredictable, making every interaction with him feel fresh and entertaining, even when you don’t quite understand what goes on inside his head. Yet beneath his lively exterior lies a deep sincerity. Genta has an innate ability to balance humor with heartfelt moments, making him not only the life of the party but also someone who genuinely cares for those around him.

One of his greatest strengths is his connection with fans. Genta treats every performance like a personal interaction, making sure each person in the audience feels seen. His fan service is legendary—locking eyes, flashing his signature mischievous smile, or throwing a playful wink that makes it impossible to look away, and you leave the show without a soul because Genta stole it. He has a way of making everyone feel special, a quality that solidifies his place as a fan-favorite among many.

His talent extends beyond music and dance. In recent years, Genta has been making waves in the acting industry, proving that his potential knows no bounds. From starring in “The Blue Skies at Your Feet” (2022) to the 2024 remake of Tokyo Tower”, he has steadily built his reputation as a rising star in the entertainment world. His role in “The Date of Marriage” (2023) (streaming on Viki) further showcased his versatility, while his lead performance in Jinji no Hitomi will add to his ability to captivate audiences beyond the stage.

Outside of Japan, Genta’s latest venture into voice acting in Mufasa: The Lion King”, where he plays the role of Taka (streaming on Disney+, Japanese dub availble), has expanded his artistic range even further. His recent appearance at The Lion King: Mufasa World Premiere in LA and Singapore solidified his growing international presence.

Beyond acting, Genta has made his mark in the fashion world. His recent attendance at the Diesel 2025 Fashion Show in Milan proved that his star power extends far beyond the entertainment industry. With his effortlessly stylish aura, he fits naturally into the world of high fashion, bringing his signature Travis Japan charm wherever he goes.

His personal brand continues to shine through his solo Instagram, which offers an unfiltered glimpse into his world. Genta’s account is a true reflection of his personality—bold, silly, and unapologetically himself.

Whether posting behind-the-scenes moments with his members, candid snapshots of his daily life, or effortlessly cool fashion shots, his posts tell a story without the need for captions.

His signature TJ pose frequently makes an appearance, reminding everyone of his deep love for his group. His late-night livestreams have become a fan favorite, offering an intimate and relaxed space where he can connect with his supporters.

I want my account to be a chill space for fans to see what I’m like in my off time,” he shared. “I love posting pictures of myself or with my friends and members of Travis Japan that you might not see in official pictures. And I love doing late-night livestreams—it’s a great time to just relax, have a drink, and hang out when the rest of the world is quiet.

If anyone in Travis Japan embodies the name and presence of “Travis Japan,” it is Genta. His ability to spread joy, ignite excitement, and bring people together is unparalleled.

Whether his multiplication tables are correct or not, his natural talent, fearless ambition, and boundless energy make him an unstoppable force—not just within Travis Japan—but in the entertainment world at large. With his ever-growing list of achievements in music, acting, and fashion, Genta Matsuda is just at his starting point.

Kaito “Machu” Matsukura | 松倉海斗

Kaito “Machu” Matsukura is Travis Japan’s heart and soul, bringing passion, dedication, and raw emotion into everything he does—representing his Pure Tiger name perfectly. His powerful and expressive singing gives depth to their music, making each performance emotionally charged and unforgettable. His voice has the ability to carry delicate ballads with heartfelt sincerity or ignite high-energy tracks with fiery intensity.

But his talent isn’t limited to vocals—Machu is an intense, all-in performer, pouring his entire being into every dance, song, and expression, something that fans have noticed and praised him highly for. His ability to convey deep emotions through movement and facial expressions has created some of the most memorable moments in Travis Japan’s performances.

His rock-influenced singing style, combined with a deeply personal approach to music, allows him to deliver vocals that are both technically skilled and emotionally raw on a level that is beyond the usual idol-scope.

Despite his intense performance style, offstage, he’s lovable, goofy, and slightly clumsy, making him incredibly endearing and relatable. Many fans expresses their wish to protect him and his pure energy.

His bright personality lights up any room, and his playful—and sometimes airheaded—nature often leads to laugh-out-loud moments among the members. However, beneath his lighthearted exterior lies a deeply passionate and hardworking artist—someone who constantly pushes himself to evolve and refine his skills.

Machu’s journey of constant growth is what makes him such a compelling artist to follow. His talents were not born with him—instead, he built his abilities through sheer effort, perseverance, and an unshakable drive to become better.

He was not a trained dancer when he first joined the agency, yet today, his dance skills stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best. He did not start with the strongest voice, yet now, he holds the weight of Travis Japan’s vocal identity. His story is one of resilience, passion, and relentless self-improvement, making every milestone in his career feel earned and deeply rewarding to watch.

His boundless energy and enthusiastic nature make him a core pillar of Travis Japan’s group dynamic. Whether he’s making his members laugh with his natural humor, hyping up the crowd with his infectious excitement, or delivering emotionally charged performances that leave fans in tears, Machu is always giving his all.

He’s known for his artistry with songs like his original “手と手,” lyrics for “Unique Tigers,” and for Road to A album, he co-wrote the song “Bro 🙂” with Genta—highlighting their precious MatsuMatsu relationship. For VIIsual, he wrote and procured “Whiskey and Tonic,” another insight into his creative mind.

Beyond his music career, he is also making his mark in acting, recently taking on a double-lead role in the musical “A BETTER TOMORROW – Otoko-tachi no Banka” alongside fellow member Noel Kawashima. His ability to channel raw emotions into his performances makes him a natural fit for musical theater, and this project is set to be a significant step in his artistic journey.

In “Tokyo Camouflage Hour,” he stepped into the spotlight as he took on his first lead role in the upcoming drama series, which Travis Japan’s Tokyo Crazy Night” is the theme song.

While his intensity on stage can be breathtaking, Machu offstage is a walking contradiction—a mix of goofiness, warmth, and unpredictability. His slightly chaotic energy makes him one of the most entertaining members, but his deep care for his teammates also makes him a reliable source of support and encouragement within the group. His interactions with fans reflect his sincerity—he treats every performance as a way to connect with people on a personal level.

With his ever-growing skill set, natural charisma, and endless determination, Kaito Matsukura is a pure performer with endless potential, just like the rest—even with his peculiar lymph node routine he seems to have. He is Travis Japan’s rawest emotion, its purest passion, and such a unique, captivating presence. As he takes the stage, he effortlessly draws the audience in, leaving them spellbound with each movement and note.

As he continues to grow, one thing is certain: he will keep pouring his heart into every step, every note, and every moment—because that is who he is.
